Trend Update: Immigration to Israel/Aliyah, February 2015
Jeremiah 31:8, 10 “Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, and I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together; a great company, they will return here. Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare in the coastlands afar off, and say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.” –Lord God
Jeremiah 31 is a chapter about the future restoration of the country Israel, the people, the land, and the city of Jerusalem. The chapter promises a return of the Jews to the land of Israel. Happiness, safety, and peace abound. Agriculture efforts will flourish. Produce and livestock increases will be exponential. Israel will repent of its past. There will be a spiritual rebirth. Cities across Israel will be rebuilt. Jerusalem will be the capital and the size of the city will be expanded.
God promises His people (Israel) through the course of the Bible He will return them to the land of their fathers. Over three million Jews have immigrated back to the land of Israel since 1948 (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/).
Read today’s (February 2015) news. After a shooting of Jews in Denmark, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is calling for Jews to return to their homeland of Israel. This is in response to the rise of anti-Semitism across Europe and the world. Today (February 2015) Jews are returning en masse from France, Ukraine, and Belgium. European leaders have been vocally opposed for the call to return to Israel despite the anti-Semitism taking place in their countries.
Legislation and financial aid has been passed in Israel to allow for an increase of immigration.

I fail to understand by what standard, or measurement, people like you can categorize these people as the same Jews of the Bible. I mean….look at them. They don’t look anything like the disciples. ?? You and I have as much “Jewish” blood in us as any of these people.

I don’t know that I am categorizing as the “same Jews of the Bible”. What does a disciple look like? Why would these people want to move and relocate to Israel? One would think these people would have to identify with some aspect of “Jewishness”. Otherwise, why in the world up and move to Israel, a country surrounded by nations who are hostile to Israel. The only point I am making is people are returning to the same geography to populate a nation called Israel as promised by a prophet thousands of years ago. The fact Israel is present as a nation is remarkable. How many countries are destroyed, dispersed throughout the world, and roughly 1900 years later are a nation again?

What I mean by that is you are applying Biblical prophecies that were given to the Biblical Israel, to people today who don’t resemble Jews in any way physically for sure. I mean look at them. Clearly they are 99% Gentile. So again…by what standard do we define a “Jew”? And then you insinuate that God is now dealing with them prophetically, which makes no sense at all if they aren’t the same Jews of the Bible.

OK, so you are saying that as long as people self-identify as “Jewish”, that makes them a Biblical Jew in God’s eyes and now all of the promises of the Kingdom to Israel are applied to them? Is that what you are saying?
p.s. Look at the faces of these people, they clearly don’t believe living in Tel Aviv – or even Jerusalem – is that dangerous. They are well-protected by their military. Oh, and the support of 100+ countries around the world. Oh, and about $1.3 billion a year in US military aid.

Your point is the essence of the question. What does it mean to be a Jew? Is it genetic, familial, cultural, national pride, or religious or some combo of those?
“Biblical Israel” was not exactly pure in their belief of God. There were those back in the day who were separated from the unbelieving masses. Of those who left Egypt, only two believed God’s delivery of the Promised Land to the nation Israel. The rest died and did not see the Promised Land. God always had a small remnant in many instances.
Why should now be any different? Roughly 7,000,000 have returned to Israel today and more will come. I suspect God will separate out those who believe in His promise. I will leave that to the God (Father, Son, and Spirit) to determine who belongs and who does not. He will bring more to Israel at His second coming. He will define and foster what it means to be “Jewish” or one of God’s children, chosen people (pick your term).
Hebrews 11…The issue is do people believe God. Does was one believe Jesus died for sin, rose from dead, coming again, and the promise of His eternal kingdom? Faith is credited with righteousness.

He already did. God’s people are those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jews – true Jews – have never been defined by God by genetics, family, culture or national pride. Religious? Yes, when Judaism was the religion God wanted. But Jesus Christ came and did away with Judaism. Right?
True people have God have always been those who had faith in Him. It’s why Rahab was an Israelite. And Ruth. They didn’t have any Israelite blood in them.
So the big question is….why do so many people think God is going to bring it all back? What did Christ fail to accomplish the first time He came that make you think He needs to do something else?

Absolutely, completely agree. Jesus did not abolish the law but fulfilled it. He will also fulfill the promises of His coming kingdom.
I guess the simple answer to your question…some people lack faith in what Christ accomplished the first time.
