Israel to the Moon, February 2019

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning…

February 21, 2019: Israel is scheduled to launch their first satellite to the moon. Israel looks to join Russia, China, and the United States and land a craft on the moon. The Beresheet lunar craft will be launched on top the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at 8:45 p.m. EST from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Beresheet was created by a non profit company SpaceIL and Israel Aerospace Industries. The cost of the journey is $100 million. The craft would be the first privately funded project to land on the moon.

The trip to the moon will take 8 weeks. The 5 foot craft is scheduled to land on the moon April 11, 2019. See the video below from SpaceIL for the lunar landing plan.
