Liberty: 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
So let’s take the other side of this verse.
Where there is no Lord and no Spirit, there is no freedom.
Introducing the Democratic Socialists of America… This movement is gaining traction in the Democrat Party. Their stated goal is Communism.
Communism, theoretically, ideologically, and historically, opposes God and all forms of religion. From the time of Karl Marx to today, communism is based on the abolition of religion. There are politicians and citizens who want to take money from one group of people (the rich as defined by others) and give money and material goods to another group of people (the poor or in need of more as defined by others). There is nothing voluntary or free will about this. It is “legally” mandated.
So much for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
What happens if the rich (as defined by politicians) or the tax base moves away because of these government mandated policies? Remember, the rich are free to live their lives and make their choices too. They don’t have to stay and take it.

These demands fly in the face of Biblical precepts. Let’s take the free will social contract of labor.

Deuteronomy 24:14-15 Do not oppress a hired hand who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother or a foreigner residing in one of your towns. You are to pay his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and depends on them. Otherwise he may cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
Notice, labor is involved and required. There is no free check, no free lunch, no free health care, no free house, or no free education.
This is a free will agreement. In exchange for labor, goods or a wage are earned and traded. The Bible has a higher standard than 21st century, modern day companies. The worker is paid daily. Western society has a pay check every two weeks or monthly.
It is considered oppression and theft, if the laborer is not paid after working. Biblically, the wage is to be paid by sunset of the day of labor.
This concept with labor and immediate wage is even extended to animals.
1 Timothy 5:18 For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and, “The worker is worthy of his wages.”
Again, this is a free will agreement between two parties. What if a company or a boss does not value its work force. What if the company does not pay a fair wage or benefits? Is the boss a jerk? God has a term for these folks, sinners.
The employee has a choice. There are other places to work. One can even start their own business and provide services directly to the population.
Labor is valued by God. The Creator has expectations for the employer and the employee relationship.

Exodus 20:15 You shall not steal.
Theft implies personal property owned by the individual. People own stuff.

Exodus 20:17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.
The mental attitude of coveting is at the core of Communisms and Socialism. These people see other’s belongings and they want it!
The atheist wants to define morality instead of God. They want to determine who gets what and how much. They do not trust their fellow man to be charitable.
Communists and socialists call others “greedy” when others oppose their will.
“It’s not fair you have all these things!” They want to legislate how much is a fair share.
Their battle is against God. The battle is real and it is spiritual.
Don’t kid yourself, the godless have a plan and they are intentional.
Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.

funny how christians can’t agree on what the bible actually means, so they each make up what they want. The bible says slavery is just fine, genocide is just fine and killing people, including children, for things they didn’t do is just fine.

No, slavery is not fine. Slavery is used as an example of poor mistreatment of others. No, genocide is not fine. Exodus 20:13 states, “You shall not murder.” Encouraging you to actually read the Bible for yourself.

it’s notable how christians are often ignorant on what their bible actually says. Exodus 20 says do not kill and chrisians can’t agree if this means “kill” or murder. Curious how this god repeatedly murders, e.g. unlawfully kills someone which means that when a child is killed for something they didn’t do, it is unlawful.
The bible says slavery is fine, unless it is an Israelite:
“39 “If your brother becomes poor beside you and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave: 40 he shall be with you as a hired worker and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee. 41 Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own clan and return to the possession of his fathers. 42 For they are my servants,[e] whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves. 43 You shall not rule over him ruthlessly but shall fear your God. 44 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. 45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. 46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.” Levicitus 25
The bible says that slaves should never seek their freedom:
“18 Slaves, accept the authority of your masters with all deference, not only those who are kind and gentle but also those who are harsh. 19 For it is a credit to you if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. 20 If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval. 21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.” 1 Peter 2
Genocide is literally fine:
“7 They did battle against Midian, as the Lord had commanded Moses, and killed every male. 8 They killed the kings of Midian: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian, in addition to others who were slain by them; and they also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. 9 The Israelites took the women of Midian and their little ones captive; and they took all their cattle, their flocks, and all their goods as booty. 10 All their towns where they had settled, and all their encampments, they burned, 11 but they took all the spoil and all the booty, both people and animals. 12 Then they brought the captives and the booty and the spoil to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the Israelites, at the camp on the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

Your god also demands its share of the little girls: “25 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 26 “You and Eleazar the priest and the heads of the ancestral houses of the congregation make an inventory of the booty captured, both human and animal. 27 Divide the booty into two parts, between the warriors who went out to battle and all the congregation. 28 From the share of the warriors who went out to battle, set aside as tribute for the Lord, one item out of every five hundred, whether persons, oxen, donkeys, sheep, or goats.” Numbers 31
this is the definition of genocide:
“Killing members of the group;
Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”
I have read the bible, it is apparent you have not.

Please read Philemon. It is the shortest book of the New Testament. This would take you less than 5 minutes. Written from prison, it is about Christian reconciliation. Paul appeals to a church leader named Philemon to forgive and welcome back his runaway slave, Onesimus, not as property, but as an equal brother in Christ.

I have read the bible, and what you claim isn’t true. Paul does not say slavery is wrong. Jesus does not say slavery is wrong. Jesus says all of the OT is correct and is to be followed.
Paul, rather than declare Onesimus free, he asks permission of his owner. Paul also treats Onesimus as an indentured servant, asking to pay what Onesimus owes, which would follow from how Jews were treated as indentured servants and not as slaves.
Paul is quite the coward and mealymouthed. Why didn’t paul say that slavery was wrong for everyone?
“13 I wanted to keep him with me, so that he might be of service to me in your place during my imprisonment for the gospel; 14 but I preferred to do nothing without your consent, in order that your good deed might be voluntary and not something forced. 15 Perhaps this is the reason he was separated from you for a while, so that you might have him back forever, 16 no longer as a slave but more than a slave, a beloved brother—especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.”

notably christians are all about that since they claim they will be able to see people in hell and know that they were right all along. Of course, christians can’t even agree on what their heaven and hell are.

curiouss how jesus offers no excuses for using violence. of course, the same jesus is attacking moneylenders in the temple who were there because he/his father required regular money be exchanged for temple scrip to buy sacrificial animals. Your bible makes little sense.
