There are seven God appointed holidays communicated through the Old Testament Law. The first three spring holidays were fulfilled on the appointed holiday by Jesus Himself. The names of the feasts are: Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits.
In the Hebrew year 5784 or the Gregorian calendar year of 2024, the appointments occur as follows. Passover essentially begins at sunset on Monday, Nisan 14th (Hebrew calendar) or April 22nd on a western Gregorian calendar. The first day of Unleavened Bread is the next day at sunset on Tuesday, Nisan 15th or April 23rd. Lastly, the feast of First Fruits starts at sunset on Wednesday, Nisan 16th or April 24th. The holidays culminate and end at sunset on Tuesday, April 30th. These are the mathematically calculated dates for 21st century calendars.
At this time, let’s introduce the Essene calendar. The Essene calendar is a solar calendar. This is the year 5949 and a Sabbatical or Shemitah year. As best as can be understood per the Dead Sea Scrolls, Passover occurred on Tuesday, April 2nd or Nisan 14th as the Essene’s marked time. The first day of Unleavened Bread is the next day on Wednesday, April 3rd or Nisan 15th. And First Fruits occurred on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 or Nisan 26th.

As usual, there is not consensus on these dates within various studies of Judaism, Christendom, and Jewish Messianic believers in Yeshua or Jesus Christ. The first of God’s holidays is Passover or Pesach in the Hebrew. The holiday begins on the 14th day of the Hebrew month Nisan (March or April on a Gregorian calendar). There is a play on words in the original Hebrew. A “pesach” is an unblemished lamb which was required for the sacrifice. After the “pesach” was sacrificed, the blood was to be smeared on the wooden posts of the house. When God saw the blood on the door posts, He passed over or “pasach” and the house was spared judgment.
The original directions for the Passover were given to Moses and Aaron in Egypt. The statute and happenings are noted in Exodus 12. God defines the purpose of the holiday to Israel.
Exodus 12:26-27a “And when your children say to you, ‘What does this rite mean to you?’ you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to the LORD who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, but spared our homes.’”

The second of God’s holidays is Unleavened Bread or Chag haMatazt in the Hebrew. The holiday begins on the 15th of Nisan and runs for seven days.
The directions of Unleavened Bread are noted in Exodus 12:15-20. The focus of the week is to live a life without leaven, the symbol for sin. Leaven is not to be in the house. Leaven products are not to be consumed. Bread without yeast, matzah, is to be eaten.

The third of God’s holidays is First Fruits or Reshit Katzir in the Hebrew. The one day holiday begins on the day after the Sabbath or Sunday on our calendar.
The directions for First Fruits are noted in Leviticus 23:9-14. The priest is to make a barley offering of the first portion of the harvest to the Lord. The priest intervenes on behalf of the people. The reality of the holiday for the people of Israel is this. The people bring their grain sheaf to the priest. They are to sacrifice a lamb without blemish. The offering is also to be presented with bread and wine.
Jesus was resurrected on First Fruits. He is the First Fruits or barley offering before God the Father. He is the High Priest who intervenes on our behalf for sin. He is the perfect offering.
In memory of Him, we participate in communion with the elements of bread and wine.
At some point in the future, as a pattern of history, will believers in Christ be resurrected on First Fruits?
Jesus Christ died. He was buried. And He was raised from the dead.
This is the gospel message of Jesus Christ, really “good news”.
Today, He is alive at the right hand of God the Father. And He is coming back again to planet Earth.
Jeremiah 49:35-39 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will shatter Elam’s bow, the mainstay of their might. I will bring the four winds against Elam from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which Elam’s exiles will not go. So I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who seek their lives. I will set My throne in Elam, and destroy its king and officials,” declares the LORD. “Yet in the last days, I will restore Elam from captivity,” declares the LORD.
Ancient Elam is consistent with modern day western Iran. At some point, this area is headed for significant judgment to the point the people of the region will be scattered throughout the world. It appears the assault includes people from multiple parts of the world, hence the four corners of the heavens.
Western Iran is going to have their diaspora. Yet in His grace, these people will be restored to their land.

So I was going to write a post about this topic of our perception of the moon and the sun from our view point on planet Earth. My wife and I were talking about the design of our solar system and the relationship of the size, distance and space from Earth to our sun and the moon. And I found this…

Every eighteen months or so they align perfectly so that the moon’s shadow passes over the earth, and those in the path of that shadow see a solar eclipse. The Hebrew word for “signs” is ‘owth. It means: sign, signal, a distinguishing mark, banner, remembrance, miraculous sign, omen, warning; token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof.
The eclipse is set to take place on April 8th, 2024 on our western Gregorian calendar. On a Hebrew calendar, the eclipse will usher in the Biblical New Year, Nisan 1. The year is 5784 per the secular Hebrew calendar. Per the Essenes’ calendar, the year is 5949 (note, we are getting close to the last Jubilee of this 1,000 years). Time, time, time…
Ancient Jewish rabbis have taught the moon represents Israel. The Hebrew calendar follows the cycle of the moon. The sun represents the gentile nations. Gentile calendars follow the cycle of the sun. In the case of solar eclipses, the nation experiencing the phenomenon is the nation under consideration.
So, is the United States in the crosshairs of a potential Divine judgment? Coincidence? Myth? Or, the Creator God?
As a reminder, this was the set up from seven years ago. This was the first of three solar eclipses to crisscross North America.
Then, there was a second solar eclipse. Granted the eclipse on October 14, 2023 was an annular solar eclipse.
The intersection of these three eclipses very much looks like the ancient Hebrew letter “aleph”. This is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The meaning of “aleph” according to Hebrew scholars is: origin of the universe; leader, chief. Some suggest the “oneness of God.” It is associated with the Greek letter “Alpha” or the beginning.
Observation, the three intersection points happen to coincide with a significant earthquake fault line or subduction zone.

The solar eclipse scheduled for April 8, 2024 is the third. The first complete solar eclipse occurred on August 21st, 2017.
The intersection of these two total solar eclipses is similar to the Hebrew letter “tav”. This is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The letter means: mark, sign, omen, or seal, it is the symbol of truth, perfection, and completion.

Ancient Nineveh heeded the message from a solar eclipse and a prophet named Jonah. Their response, Nineveh repented from their evil ways. Judgment from God was spared.

The eclipse occurs 70 days before Pentecost. Israel was in bondage 70 years in Babylon. The number evokes the idea of release from exile. The 16th Hebrew letter “Ayin” meaning: eyes, salvation.
The eclipse path is 120 miles wide. Day/age theorists believe there are 120 jubilees or 6,000 years before the onset of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.

Without Jesus’ resurrection, our faith is described as “vain” and “worthless”.
1 Corinthians 15:14b …your faith is also in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
The Greek word for “vain” is κενοσ/kenos. It means: empty, devoid of truth; contains nothing; empty handed; without a gift; fruitless; no purpose.

This is our faith without the resurrection of Christ. Without Jesus’ resurrection, there is no hope for our bodies. We are dead and buried, a corrupt and purposeless mess, an empty shell.
If we are not resurrected in the future, then Christ’s resurrection in the past did not occur. We have historical proof of Jesus overcoming death with hundreds of witnesses. We know what happened to Jesus. This observation is stated at least twice by Paul. That’s the security and truth of our future resurrection.

With the resurrection of Christ, Psalm 16:10 was prophetically fulfilled.

With His death, Jesus did not stay in Sheol or Hades or the grave (see Ephesians 8-10). There was no decomposition of His body.
Acts 2:31 Foreseeing this, David spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did His body see decay.

The prophets spoke of a time when Israel would be isolated against the world. At this time, under the current Biden Administration. Israel has no support.

The United States has abandoned its policy in the UN today. Just a few days ago, it supported a Security Council resolution that linked a call for a ceasefire to the release of hostages.
Zechariah 14:2-3 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
The world would like to divide Jerusalem in the event of a Palestinian state. East Jerusalem would be the capital.
We have already seen this in the communities that border the Gaza Strip. This is exactly what happened on October 7, 2023… the houses plundered and the women raped. The prophet Zechariah says this will happen again in the future in Jerusalem. Other prophets include Judah in the south as well.

The context of Ezekiel 7 is judgment on the land of Israel. Judgment is being rendered against violence or “hamas“.

Ezekiel 7:23 Forge a chain! For the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence.

Are we witnessing the ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy? Time will tell.

Since when does CBS care about the Bible, specifically Numbers 19 and what it has to say about a red heifer? All credit to CBS and Chris Livesay, they actually did a pretty decent job with the coverage and overview of the situation. CBS presented a 5 minute story on CBS Saturday Morning.
CBS also accurately pointed out comments from Hamas and their justification for their actions into Israel on October 7, 2023.

The CBS article looks at many different perspectives on the issue including a Christian perspective. Granted, not all Christians are going to agree with the position CBS chose to represent on the topic of the red heifer sacrifice and its necessity.
“We’re going to accept the Messiah, and we need the Messiah to come,” Byron Stinson, a Texan who helped bring the cows to Israel, said at the gathering. “For me, the red heifer is red for the blood of Jesus Christ. That’s why it’s red.”
As best as can be understood, of the five red heifers delivered to Israel from Texas, four appear to remain as possible candidates.
