Trend Update: Temple Mount Violence, September 2015

Mark 13:14a But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand)… -Jesus

Jesus is quoting Daniel 9:27, the abomination of desolation passage. This is where the antichrist takes his place in the Temple and declares himself to be God.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.

Today, September 2015, there is no Temple. The antichrist has not shown himself. There is no 7 year peace treaty. There is not a 10 nation federation or a group of 10 leaders who are working together for world peace. We are not in the Tribulation.

The world is not going to end in September 2015.

That said, this area is one hot piece of real estate. Violence has been occurring for over a week on the Temple Mount area. The violence started before the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah/Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets. Muslims have called for days of rage. Recent violence escalated when rocks and explosives were found in the Al Aqsa Mosque. Death and injuries have resulted from the violence.

The world sees the Temple Mount as a place of Muslim worship. Jews are allowed to visit but cannot pray on the site. This was the agreement after the 1967 war. It is argued this is the site of the first and second Jewish Temple.

Israel is taking heat from the international community. Under agreement, Jordan is responsible for security on the Temple Mount. Jordan’s King Abdullah is critical of Israel’s management of the violence. Israel has reminded Jordan they are responsible for security.
