“The event used to be treated as incitement by extremists. Several secular media and filmmakers are attending these events on a regular basis and have come to realize that this is not political or extremist. This is an educational reenactment of something that was an essential element of the Jewish people that is explicitly described in the Bible. When the media view the reenactment in that light, they are very accepting.” -Rabbi Mordechai Persoff, Head of the Mikdash Educational Center

Nathan-Melech, Servant to King Josiah

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Temple, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , on April 2, 2019 by paulthepoke

2 Kings 23:11 And he removed the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance to the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the precincts. And he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

Nathan-melech means: given of a king, a leader in Israel.

Nathan-melech was a “saris” in the original Hebrew. A saris can be translated as a eunich, valet or officer. (Strong’s Concordance)

Nathan-melech knew King Josiah of Israel. This is the only mention in the Biblical text of Nathan-melech.

City of David, Israel: Excavations continue south of the Temple Mount in the greater Jerusalem area. The specific location is the Givati Parking Lot (see red marker in map below).

The discovery of a clay seal impression is the issue. The find is estimated to be 2,600 years old. The clay seal is written in paleo Hebrew. The seal says, “to Nathan-Melech, Servant of the King” (LeNathan-Melech Eved HaMelech).

“This burnt clay impression is the first archaeological evidence of the biblical name Nathan-Melech.” -Amanda Borschel-Dan, Times of Israel

Scholars and experts are looking at this find in its geographical context. The object was found in its place, a large, two-story First Temple structure. The remains of the administrative building are consistent with the burning of Jerusalem in 586 BC at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians. Experts were surprised the location of the building was further south of the modern day Temple Mount.

Dr. Yiftah Shalev, Israel Antiquities Authority made the following observation.

“What is importance is not just that they were found in Jerusalem, but (that they were found) inside their true archaeological context. (There is a) connect between the artifact and the actual physical era it was found in. It is not a coincidence that the seal and the seal impression are found here.”

The find is faith confirming for many people.

“This is an extremely exciting find for billions of people worldwide. The personal seal of Natan-Melech, a senior official in the government of Josiah, King of Judah, as described in the second book of Kings. The ongoing archaeological excavations at the City of David continue to prove that ancient Jerusalem is no longer just a matter of faith, but also a matter of fact.” -Doron Spielman, Vice President, City of David Foundation

Skeptics are looking at the archaeological find with an open mind.

“Although it is not possible to determine with complete certainty that the Nathan-Melech who is mentioned in the Bible was in fact the owner of the stamp, it is impossible to ignore some of the details that link them together,” Mendel-Geberovich, Scholar.

Red Heifer Update, March 2019

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Gospel, Prophecy, Temple, Trend Update with tags , , , , on March 9, 2019 by paulthepoke

Breaking Israel News recently conducted an interview with Rabbi Azariah Ariel. The rabbi indicated there are two potential red heifers which may be candidates for sacrifice. The purpose is the preparation of ashes for ritual purification. The ashes would be used for the purification of the people of Israel. And the ashes are necessary for the dedication of the Third Temple.

The red heifer candidates are currently being raised at a secret location with specific circumstances and surroundings.

“We are working on this but the most important thing we can do is to keep their location secret. If we succeed, in two years we will be permitted to perform more mitzvoth in the manner God commanded.” -Rabbi Ariel

Historically, a pure red heifer is exceedingly rare.

“We know that there have been nine red heifers throughout history, the first having been prepared in the times of Moses and Elazar, the son of Aaron. A red heifer is a female cow that is red. In the language of the Bible, red is not exclusively what we know today as red. It also includes brown and other similar shades of red. This excludes black. All of the hairs on its body must be the same color.” -Rabbi Ariel

Recently, a prospective red heifer was declared ineligible. The calf was disqualified because of six white hairs in and around the nose.

https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/123800/imminent-return-red-heifer-fact-fiction/

Let’s look at the qualifications of the red heifer per the Bible in Numbers 19:1-2.

Numbers 19:1-2 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “This is the statute of the law which the Lord has commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring you an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect and on which a yoke has never been placed.

The ashes from the sacrifice of the red heifer are necessary for purification prior to the building of the Temple.

Interpretation of verses provided by the Temple Institute. This is the criteria used for the identification of the red heifer.

…and take a heifer… Since the verse instructs us to take a heifer, we do not purchase a calf and wait for it to grow older while in our custody; “and take a heifer” means that the act of acquisition has to take place while the animal is a heifer. However, if a red calf is available, a price can be set with its owner, and the transaction can be concluded, but we do not take possession until it reaches the proper age as mandated by the Bible.

A heifer by definition is a female cow.

…an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect… This means that the presence of as few as two hairs of any other color will render it invalid. Even its hooves must be red. It must also be totally free from any physical blemish or defect, whether internal or external. A list of blemishes that would disqualify the animal for sacrifice are noted in Leviticus 22.

…on which a yoke has never been placed. The red heifer must have never been used to perform any physical labor. This would include riding, or even leaning on her. But if a yoke were placed upon her even once, even if she were not used to plow – this would be enough to render the heifer unfit for use.

Three to four years of age is an oral tradition that has been passed down through the generations.

~

The innocent, shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross is the fulfillment of forgiveness and the release from sin.

Hebrews 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

As the red heifer was and will be again sacrificed outside the city limits of Jerusalem, so was Jesus Christ. As the sacrifice of the red heifer is for the purification and consecration of the people of Israel, so was and is Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

Christ’s sacrifice is not only for the people of Israel, but for all the people of the world. He is the sacrifice for all sin for all time.

1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Temple Location Revisited, January 2019

Posted in Prophecy, Temple, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 10, 2019 by paulthepoke

Rabbi Harry Moskoff has been digging into the exact location of past Temples. His research and findings are calling into the question the status quo and consensus opinion regarding the exact Temple location.

“At first, I thought it was in the northern end of the Temple Mount,” Rabbi Moskoff.

2 Chronicles 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

“The verse states that it was on the mountain. It does not specify that it was at the top of the mountain. The Temple was located on a threshing floor bought by King David. These (threshing floors) are not located on mountain tops. In the days of Solomon, the peak of the mountain was located where the Dome of the Rock is.” -Rabbi Moskoff

Oral traditions not found in the Bible state the Temple was not built on what is considered today’s Temple Mount. Oral traditions are consistent with Biblical texts, ancient rabbis, and historians.

2 Samuel 5:7 Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion, that is the city of David.

The city of David is a specific location within greater Jerusalem. The city of David is located south of what is known as the Temple Mount in modern day Jerusalem. The city of David is down the hill, below, and south of the modern day Temple Mount. The distance between the two locations is approximately 600-1000 feet.

Rabbi Moskoff pointed to the historical account of 12th century Rabbi Moses ben Maimon, aka Maimonides or Ramban. The Rabbi went to the Temple Mount and entered the golden Dome of the Rock. Again, the Dome of the Rock is a top the Temple Mount.

“The Rambam would not have entered the building if he thought it was the location of the Holy of holies,” Moskoff.

Rabbi Moskoff now thinks the Holy of Holies of the Temple is located southwest of the Dome of the Rock.

~

First century AD Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus noted the Temple was located below a fortress. The Temple was not located on the top of the mountain. The Temple was located below the Temple Mount and below a recently unearthed fortress.

“…he built a citadel in the lower part of the city, for the place was high, and overlooked the Temple; on which account he fortified it with high walls and towers, and put into it a garrison of Macedonians.” -Flavius Josephus

Historians and books written in the first century say the Temple site was south in the city of David. This is below the modern day Temple Mount area.

Then, there is the issue of water. The only local source of water is the Gihon Spring. It is located south or below the modern day Temple Mount. Remember, these folks did not have access to modern day plumbing. They would have pumped water uphill 1,000 feet to the modern day Temple Mount.

This location south of the modern day Temple Mount would allow for construction of the Temple without interfering with Muslim religious shrines.

Temple Altar Dedicated, December 2018

Posted in Prophecy, Sanhedrin, Temple, Trend Update with tags , , , , , on December 11, 2018 by paulthepoke

Exodus 20:25 If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it.

Deuteronomy 27:5 Moreover, you shall build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you shall not wield an iron tool on them.

These are the directions given to Moses by God.

Photo: Temple Institute

Fast forward to the 21st century…These directions have been followed again. The Mosaic Law has been followed accordingly. Stones from the remote shores of the Dead Sea were gathered from this location. The stones have not been touched by iron equipment, cut, or quarried. The stones were wrapped in plastic to protect them from being touched by iron. Workers completed their labor barefoot. The completed altar is versatile. It can be assembled and reassembled easily.

December 2018: The altar for the third Jewish Temple was dedicated on the last day of Hanukkah. In the Hebrew language, Hanukkah means “dedication”.

The precedent has been set to start sacrifices without a temple. This was the case in the book of Ezra.

Ezra 3:6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, but the foundation of the temple of the LORD had not been laid.

Jewish Rabbinical scholars and members of the modern day Sanhedrin do believe the altar should be located on the Temple Mount. The specific location of the altar is believed to be meters east of the Islamic Dome of the Rock.

Hillel Weiss is the spokesman for the Sanhedrin. Weiss stated animal sacrifices per the Mosaic Law would start immediately on the given location on the Temple Mount if given clearance by the government of Israel. Weiss encourages the government to be “the first to support” these sacrifices.

Just waiting on political clearance… We are getting closer… Where’s your heart??? All of this is happening before us in our time, just like the Bible said. You got Jesus???

Ancient Beka Found Near Temple Mount in Jerusalem

Posted in Temple, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , on November 25, 2018 by paulthepoke

Exodus 30:13-16 This is what everyone who is numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs), half a shekel as a contribution to the Lord. Everyone who is numbered, from twenty years old and over, shall give the contribution to the Lord. The rich shall not pay more and the poor shall not pay less than the half shekel, when you give the contribution to the Lord to make atonement for yourselves. You shall take the atonement money from the sons of Israel and shall give it for the service of the tent of meeting, that it may be a memorial for the sons of Israel before the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.”

November 2018: An ancient weight from the first Temple era has been discovered in Jerusalem. The “beka” has been found in an archeological dig. A “beka” was used by Jews to pay the half-shekel Temple tax as mandated by the Law in Exodus 30 as noted in the verses above.

The term “beka” is noted two places in the Bible. The first notation is with Rebekah and Abraham’s servant Eliezer.

Genesis 24:22 When the camels had finished drinking, the man took a gold ring weighing a beka and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels in gold…

The second and last mention is in regards to the individual payment of the Temple tax.

Exodus 38:26 a beka a head (that is, half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary), for each one who passed over to those who were numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for 603,550 men.

A Biblical shekel weighs 11.33 grams. Two beka equal one shekel. One beka equals 5.67 grams. Ten gerah equal a beka.

The “beka” was located in Jerusalem’s Emek Tzurim National Park. Specifically, it was found at the foundation of the Western Wall. The pebble was found during 2013 excavations under Robinson’s Arch. The dirt came from a drainage canal under the foundation of the Western Wall. This location would be next to Solomon’s Temple.

Eli Shukron was in charge of the dig on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority. Shukron made the following statement.

“When the half-shekel tax was brought to the Temple during the First Temple period, there were no coins, so they used silver ingots. In order to calculate the weight of these silver pieces they would put them on one side of the scales and on the other side they placed the beka weight. The beka was equivalent to the half-shekel, which every person from the age of 20 years and up was required to bring to the Temple.”

“This three thousand-year-old beka weight, inscribed with ancient Hebrew was likely used in the First Temple, anchoring once again, the deep historical connection of the Jewish People to Jerusalem,” said Doron Spielman, Vice President of the City of David Foundation which funded the excavation.

In the 21st century, the modern-day Sanhedrin has revived the law or mitzvah for the half-shekel levy (roughly $4 in today’s economy). The cause is to rebuild the third Temple.

Here is today’s version of the half-shekel Temple tax…

Sanhedrin Encourages Temple to Jerusalem Mayoral Candidates, November 2018

Posted in Prophecy, Sanhedrin, Temple with tags , , , on November 11, 2018 by paulthepoke

Matthew 24:15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) …” -Jesus

November 2018: An election for the mayor of Jerusalem is to be held this upcoming week. A mayor’s term is for five years.

The Sanhedrin of Israel is back in the news. The Sanhedrin reconvened in 2005 after a 1,600-year absence. Who is/was the Sanhedrin? They are/were a group of 71 members of Israel’s best rabbinical sages. The group was made up of members from the Pharisees and Sadducees back in the day. The Sanhedrin is/was lead by the High Priest. (Holman Bible Dictionary). Today, they oversee legal matters and future construction of the pending third temple.

Sanhedrin-5a BIN

The Sanhedrin has issued a letter to both candidates. The focus of the letter is the building of the third Temple. Here are some Sanhedrin quotes from the letter.

“With God’s merciful approval, one of you will be chosen as head of the city, may it be built and made ready for its ultimate purpose. We call on the candidates as well as the voters to make choices based on truth and on the main aspect of Jerusalem, which is the building of the Temple.”

“Avoiding this essential issue endangers the existence of the city and its identity as the capital of Israel, thereby endangering Israel itself. Every Jew and all of humanity are commanded to ascend to the Temple Mount.”

“We expect you, as candidates, to relate to this role the city has as home of the Temple. This subject is not simply a matter of religious belief but must also be expressed in political, fiscal, and educational terms.”

“Jerusalem in its entirety is sanctified as Holy and is the spiritual center of the world, the throne of God. We urge you to make public your plans relating to this aspect of the city. There are several ways this can be accomplished, such as festivals of holiness to replace those of impurity.”

“Jerusalem must prepare to host the millions of pilgrims who will attend the feasts when the Third Temple is built. We also call on the government to prepare a center for an international body to replace the United Nations and the Hague, one that will be rooted in the Bible.”
