REVELATION 11: A TEMPLE THAT DOESN’T EXIST… YET- Mark Wilson

John is told to measure a temple that does not exist… yet.

“Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. But exclude the outer court… it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.” (Revelation 11:1–2)

This is not abstract. This is not symbolic drift. This is structure. This is geography. This is time.

And it forces the question:

❖ WHAT TEMPLE IS JOHN SEEING?

It cannot be Solomon’s. It cannot be the Second Temple.

Jesus already declared: “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” (Matthew 24:2)

By the time John writes, that destruction is behind him. So if John sees a temple… it must be ahead of us.

❖ A REAL, FUNCTIONING TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM

The word used is naos — the inner sanctuary.

Not a vague spiritual idea. A defined sacred space.

There is:

  • a temple
  • an altar
  • worshipers
  • measurable boundaries

This is not how Scripture describes the Church.

❖ BUT AREN’T BELIEVERS THE TEMPLE NOW?

Yes. Absolutely.

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

That is gloriously true. But present spiritual reality does not cancel future prophecy. Believers being called God’s temple does not erase a coming temple any more than being Abraham’s seed erases God’s promises to national Israel.

Revelation 11 describes:

  • an altar
  • outer courts
  • Gentile trampling
  • a defined city
  • a 42-month countdown.

That is not Church-age language. That is prophetic Jerusalem.

❖ EVERYTHING HINGES ON THIS TIMELINE

42 months.

Three and a half years.

“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation’…” (Matthew 24:15)

“In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.” (Daniel 9:27)

This is the midpoint of the Tribulation. A precise prophetic clock.

❖ THE TEMPLE AND THE ANTICHRIST

Paul makes it unavoidable:

“He sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4)

This is not symbolic language. This is a man… in a place… making a claim. No temple… no fulfillment.

Jesus said you will see it.

Paul said it will happen.

John is told to measure it.

❖ JERUSALEM UNDER PRESSURE

“They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.”

Jesus said: “Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24)

A Jewish city. A contested mount. A ticking clock.

This is not ancient history.

This is the season.

❖ AND THE SEASON IS GETTING LOUDER

For centuries, Jews were forbidden from praying openly on the Temple Mount.

Now? That barrier is beginning to crack.

Reports in recent years have documented increased Jewish prayer access and quiet permissions on the Temple Mount.

Small? Yes. Symbolic? Maybe. But prophetically… significant.

Because Revelation 11 requires one thing: A Jewish place of worship… functioning again.

❖ THE PREPARATION IS ALREADY UNDERWAY

The Temple Institute has already:

  • Recreated priestly garments
  • Prepared temple vessels
  • Trained priests from the line of Levi
  • Constructed a functional altar
  • Advanced efforts for red heifer purification

This is not speculation. This is infrastructure.

❖ GOD’S PROPHETIC CLOCK IS MOVING

Chuck Missler “Israel is the hour hand. Jerusalem is the minute hand. The Temple Mount is the second hand.”

Watch the second hand… and everything accelerates.

❖ THE TEXT REFUSES TO BE REDUCED

This is not the Church. The Church is not divided into courts. Not trampled geographically. Not measured with an altar tied to sacrifice.

And the Antichrist does not sit in a metaphor.

❖ THE PROPHETIC FLOW IS CONSISTENT

  • Israel regathered.
  • Jerusalem restored to global focus.
  • A covenant emerges.
  • Temple worship resumes.
  • The temple is measured.
  • The Antichrist desecrates it.
  • Judgment intensifies.

This is not random. It is coordinated.

❖ SO WHAT ARE WE WATCHING?

Not imagination. Not allegory.

A future, literal temple in Jerusalem… casting its shadow into the present.

  • And if Revelation 11 is literal…
  • If Jesus meant what He said…
  • If Paul described a real event…
  • Then we are not waiting for prophecy to be written.

We are watching the conditions align.

The season is not silent.

It is accelerating.

Preview: God’s Spring Appointed Holidays 5786/2026/5951

Isaiah 9:6 For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Granted, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was quoting the American historian and philosopher Will Durant. That said, bad analogy…

However, Netanyahu does not know the Lion of the tribe of Judah. You all (Israel) don’t know it, but Jesus Christ is Israel’s Messiah. He is your Messiah. He will come to Earth and conduct some serious social hygiene. Jesus is also the Lamb of God who died for the sins of humanity. See Revelation 5, Zechariah 12, 14 for details… Read it!

Jesus Christ will rule and reign 1,000 years and into eternity.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the celebration of the Spring Appointed Feasts.

There are seven God appointed holidays communicated through the Old Testament Law. The first three spring holidays were fulfilled on the appointed holiday by Jesus Himself. The names of the feasts are: Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits.

In the Hebrew year 5786 or the Gregorian calendar year of 2026, the appointments occur as follows. Passover essentially begins at sunset on Wednesday, Nisan 14th (traditional Hebrew lunar calendar) or April 1st on a western Gregorian solar calendar. The first day of Unleavened Bread is the next day at sunset on Thursday, Nisan 15th or April 2nd. Lastly, the feast of First Fruits starts at sunset on Friday, Nisan 16th or April 3rd. The holidays culminate and end at sunset on Thursday, April 9th. These are the mathematically calculated dates for 21st century calendars.

The Essene solar calendar has Passover initiating on Tuesday, March 31st (Nisan 14). Unleavened Bread begins on Wednesday, April 1st (Nisan 15). The timing and marking of First Fruits are different for the Essenes. Instead of being 3 consecutive days as marked by the traditional Hebrew lunar calendar above, First Fruits begins on Sunday, April 12th or Nisan 26th.

This is the year 5951 per the Dead Sea Scroll or the Essene calendar. As the Essene’s mark time, this is last generation.

Luke 21:32 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. -Jesus

The Essenes followed God’s word on the New Year. We are now in the year 5951.

Exodus 12:1-2 Now the LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month is the beginning of months for you; it shall be the first month of your year.

Again, there is not consensus on these dates within various studies of Judaism, Christendom, and Jewish Messianic believers in Yeshua or Jesus Christ. Humanity struggles to keep time as God has directed. No one knows the day or the hour…

Creation of Time: The Calendar

The first of God’s holidays is Passover or Pesach in the Hebrew. The holiday begins on the 14th day of the Hebrew month Nisan (March or April on a Gregorian calendar). There is a play on words in the original Hebrew. A “pesach” is an unblemished lamb which was required for the sacrifice. After the “pesach” was sacrificed, the blood was to be smeared on the wooden posts of the house. When God saw the blood on the door posts, He passed over or “pasach” and the house was spared judgment.

The original directions for the Passover were given to Moses and Aaron in Egypt. The statute and happenings are noted in Exodus 12. God defines the purpose of the holiday to Israel. 

Exodus 12:26-27a “And when your children say to you, ‘What does this rite mean to you?’ you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to the LORD who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, but spared our homes.’”

The second of God’s holidays is Unleavened Bread or Chag haMatazt in the Hebrew. The holiday begins on the 15th of Nisan and runs for seven days.

The directions of Unleavened Bread are noted in Exodus 12:15-20. The focus of the week is to live a life without leaven, the symbol for sin. Leaven is not to be in the house. Leaven products are not to be consumed. Bread without yeast, matzah, is to be eaten.

The third of God’s holidays is First Fruits or Reshit Katzir in the Hebrew. The one day holiday begins on the day after the Sabbath or Sunday on our calendar.

The directions for First Fruits are noted in Leviticus 23:9-14. The priest is to make a barley offering of the first portion of the harvest to the Lord. The priest intervenes on behalf of the people. The reality of the holiday for the people of Israel is this. The people bring their grain sheaf to the priest. They are to sacrifice a lamb without blemish. The offering is also to be presented with bread and wine.

Jesus was resurrected on First Fruits. He is the First Fruits or barley offering before God the Father. He is the High Priest who intervenes on our behalf for sin. He is the perfect offering.

In memory of Him, we participate in communion with the elements of bread and wine.

At some point in the future, as a pattern of history, will believers in Christ be resurrected on First Fruits?

Jesus Christ died. He was buried. And He was raised from the dead.

This is the gospel message of Jesus Christ, really “good news”.

Today, He is alive at the right hand of God the Father. And He is coming back again to planet Earth.

This Week in Prophecy: Shofar on Temple Mount; Turkey; Greta Again

Joel 2:1-2 Blow the ram’s horn in Zion; sound the alarm on My holy mountain! Let all who dwell in the land tremble, for the Day of the LORD is coming; indeed, it is near, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like the dawn overspreading the mountains a great and strong army appears, such as never was of old, nor will ever be in ages to come.

The blowing of a shofar signaled many things in Biblical times. The shofar blast was a call to war and the prospect of danger.

This marks two years in a row a shofar has been blown on the Temple Mount. Last year on Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah, a group of 6 Jews managed to blast all 100 tones required for the feast.

For the First Time Since the Second Temple: Shofar Sounded on Temple Mount; Silver Trumpet Sounded as Call to War

During the season of Teshuvah or repent, it is a custom to blow the shofar daily. The trumpet is blown every day except Shabbat or the Sabbath (Saturday for us in western culture) and the last day of month of Elul. The trumpet is blown after the morning service.

The blowing of the shofar started with Moses and the Israelites at Mount Sinai. The blowing of the shofar is associated with God descending to Mount Sinai and the gathering of nation Israel. This is where Moses is called to ascend the mountain to meet God (Exodus 19:13-19). This is when and where Israel received the law.

The shofar was a way to call soldiers. The trumpet preceded the Ark of the Covenant. 

2 Samuel 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

The trumpet blast signified the beginning of the month (Numbers 10:10). 

Psalm 81:3-4 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day. For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. 

Some form of a trumpet blast(s) is used at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). A trumpet blast also signals the beginning of Jubilee (Leviticus 25).

The Palestinian Authority has expressed their concern about the blowing of a shofar.

The P.A.’s Jerusalem Governorate warned in a statement that the Jewish tradition of sounding the shofar throughout the Hebrew month of Elul is “no longer a passing religious ritual, but has become one of the most dangerous tools of the occupation to impose its alleged sovereignty.”

The PA has called upon the United Nations to… “halt these attacks and provide international protection for Islamic and Christian holy sites”.

Galatians 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

“I just want to end it. If I can save seven thousand people a week from getting killed, that’s pretty good. I want to get to heaven if possible. I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I hear I’m at the bottom of the totem pole. If I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.” -President Trump

Touting peace credentials before the LORD is not going to help your eternal heavenly cause…

Romans 3:27-28 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

One cannot work or earn their way to Heaven no matter what one does. This has always been the plan before creation. There is no act or deed we can do to merit eternal life.

2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.

One’s great deeds will not get them into Heaven and eternal life with God.

I don’t know what President Trump ultimately believes. Does he believe in Jesus’ work on the cross and His payment of sin for his personal salvation? That is between the Donald and our Creator.

Can God use a non believer to achieve His will? Yes, See Cyrus and Nebuchadnezzar as well as others.

Did God spare Donald Trump’s life from a bullet in Pennsylvania?

Encouraging President Trump’s spiritual advisors to have a sincere discussion with him. His current advisors include Paula White-Cain, Jennifer Korn, and Jackson Lane.

Paula White-Cain is his lead advisor. Count me suspicious of the President getting wise counsel with her history of pedaling the Prosperity Gospel on TV.

Prosperity gospel preachers teach their followers that the way to gain riches is to give more money to the kingdom, especially by giving to their churches and ministries. The quantity of material and financial prosperity one expects to gain is in proportion to what one gives.

Material wealth, health, and happiness are the will of God and can be obtained through faith and positive thinking. The Prosperity Gospel assumes that material prosperity is a proof of God’s grace.

Preach this line of thinking to persecuted believers, brothers, and sisters in Christ in places like Rwanda, China, or Iran.

The Prosperity Gospel is a cruel lie.

Genesis 15:18-21 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

These are the ultimate borders of nation Israel per God. They have yet to be realized.

This calls for the geography of Israel to stretch from the Nile River in Egypt to Euphrates River in the east. One could argue rather this implies the Arabian Peninsula or not.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently made waves on a TV interview with i24 News.

In the newly published interview he said he is on a “historic and spiritual mission” and expressed strong attachment to the vision of a Greater Israel, which is a longtime reference to Israel encompassing parts of Jordan, Egypt and Syria – along with the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Red Heifer Update; Christian Persecution; Tigris River

Numbers 19:1-2 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “This is the statute of the law which the Lord has commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring you an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect and on which a yoke has never been placed.

3 WEEK DIARY: WORK OF THE TEMPLE INSTITUTE: THE RED HEIFER

The three weeks of intensified focus and adoption of customs of mourning over the destruction of the two Holy Temples in Jerusalem have ended. But our recap of all the work the Temple Institute is involved with the one aim of rebuilding the Holy Temple and renewing the Divine service is far from exhausted.

Our longtime supporters are certainly aware that the Institute’s efforts to raise or discover a red heifer suitable for the purpose of achieving the ashes of the red heifer go back more than two decades. We have forged deep connections with cattle growers in the United States, both professionally and personally. We have worked with cattle growers in Israel. We have raised red heifer candidates here in Israel and flown over red heifer candidates from Texas. The halachot concerning the eligibility of a potential red heifer are very strict and unfortunately all our efforts so far have been frustrated by the appearance of more than one non-red hair on all our potential candidates. Nevertheless, our efforts continue.

Attaining a suitable red heifer, however, is only one aspect of the work of achieving the longed for purifying ashes. Once a viable red heifer has been achieved it needs to be slaughtered and burned into ashes. Simply to create a fire that will burn at a temperature capable of converting the heifer into ashes is a task that has required much research and experimentation.

Kohanim who are free of the impurity of tamei met must be located, for only kohanim enjoying such a status can be involved in creating the ashes. This requires kohanim who were home-birthed and have never stepped inside a hospital or cemetery, where the impurity of tamei met is a given. The Institute has successfully located and brought on board eligible kohanim.

Pure waters from the Shiloach spring located at the foot of the City of David must be collected and cedar wood, hyssop and wool dyed red with the tola’at shani insect must also be acquired and added to the ashes. Fortunately all these elements are readily attainable.

The actual burning of the heifer must take place on the Mount of Olives at a vantage point from which the kohen performing the ceremony can see into the great entrance of the Temple Sanctuary, (or, at least where it stood).

All throughout the Institute’s continuing efforts, tremendous research has formed the basis for every step forward we have taken. Rabbi Azarya arial of the Temple Institute has devoted years of his life researching and overseeing all these aspects.

Recently a groundbreaking test run was taken using a disqualified heifer. The experience better prepares us for the ultimate performance of the ceremony with a kosher heifer.

We all know that acquiring the purifying ashes of the red heifer will be a major and indisputable step forward toward building the Mikdash and renewing the offerings. For this very reason there are many opposed to our efforts among the enemies of Israel, and to our regret, even within the people of Israel. For this reason we keep a tight lid on our efforts and generally do not advertise our successes.

Due to our reluctance to advertise and also due to our lack of success in acquiring a viable red heifer candidate despite all our efforts, some of our supporters have expressed their frustration. After all, there are many red haired breeds of cattle in the world and, no doubt many thousands of potential red heifers born each year. No doubt if the Temple Institute enjoyed a much larger budget we could expand our efforts and potentially acquire a red heifer sooner, rather than later. But just as the chok – the statute – of the red heifer is considered to be a great test of our faith in and fidelity to HaShem’s word, we must also maintain the faith and trust that a suitable red heifer will be found when G-d sees fit. Meanwhile, our efforts continue, full steam ahead.

Temple Institute Announces: All Texas Red Heifers Disqualified

The book was written around 660 BC. Nineveh is the city and people in focus in the Book of Jonah. Nineveh was once the largest city in the known world. Today in the early 21st century Ninevah or modern day Mosul, Iraq is home to 1.3 to 1.5 million people per Wikipedia and the United Nations.

The Tigris River valley below the Mosul Dam is home to approximately 150 million people.

Shavuot/Pentecost/Feast of Weeks, 5785/2025/5950; Temple Talk; Babel No More

Leviticus 23:15-16 ‘You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete Sabbaths. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the Lord.

On a Gregorian calendar, we are in the year of 2025, the holiday of Shavuot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost begins at sunset on Sunday, June 1st. The God Appointed holiday ends at sunset Monday, June 2nd.

The Feast takes place in the month of Sivan on the 6th and 7th of a Hebrew calendar. This is the Hebrew year 5785 on the traditional lunar calendar.

On the solar Essene calendar, Shavuot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost began on what was Sunday, Sivan 15th, 5950 or June 1st, 2025. Yes, the Counting of the Omer is calculated differently by the Essenes as compared to how the Pharisees marked time. However this year, the holiday is observed on the same day by all calendars.

Red Heifer Update: No Candidates at This Time… Attitudes Are Changing

“At this moment, we don’t have in our possession in Israel a red heifer that is verifiably kosher and suited for the ceremony. About two years ago, five excellent red calves were brought to Israel. They had been checked and certified in America as perfectly red but several months after they arrived, they began to grow white hairs. There is an ongoing discussion in the Temple Institute regarding their suitability about whether the proximity of the hairs to each other disqualifies the cows or not.”

There are several essential questions that must be addressed regarding the cows themselves and other issues surrounding the issue of the Temple and the Temple service. On Thursday, the first day of Rosh Hashanah, a group of Jews smuggled shofarot (ritual rams’ horns) onto the Temple Mount and, despite police efforts to stop them, blew all of the requisite shofar blasts for the holiday. It should be emphasized that this is most probably the first time since the Second Temple stood that the shofar has sounded at Judaism’s holiest site. -Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz
