Trend Update: ISIS Surrounded on Euphrates Dam, April 2017

Posted in Euphrates River, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 25, 2017 by paulthepoke

Joshua 1:3-4 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.

At some point in the future, the Euphrates River will be the eastern border of Israel.

For now, the Euphrates River is a point of contention in the country of Syria. The issue is the Euphrates Dam or also known as the Tabqa Dam. It is located in northern Syria. The dam forms Lake Assad. The dam is a primary source of electricity and water in Syria.

ISIS has been surrounded on the southern part of the dam and in the town of al-Tabqah, Syria.

Leaflets from US and Kurdish have been dropped in Raqqa, Syria telling ISIS to surrender. ISIS is taking the leaflets seriously. They have moved their capital from Raqqa to Deir ez-Zur, Syria. Deir ez-Zur is about 90 miles southeast from Raqqa.

ISIS is getting squeezed across the Middle East.

For those who are new to the site…it is the author’s position that we are not in the great tribulation. We are trending toward the events described by the prophets in the Great Day of the Lord, the end of days, or Revelation.

There is no Temple. There is no peace treaty in the Middle East with Israel. There is no 10 nation federation. And there is no antichrist. But, we are trending…

Trend Update: Chemical Weapons in Syria; Battle for Euphrates Dam Intensifies, March 2017

Posted in Burden of Damascus, Euphrates River, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 30, 2017 by paulthepoke

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. “Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard bad news; they are disheartened. There is anxiety by the sea, it cannot be calmed.

Hamath: The name means “fortress”. In the times of Jeremiah, Hamath was a city in valley of the Orontes River. Hamath was the capital of the northern kingdom of ancient Syria. Today, this is the city known as Hama, Syria.

Hama, Syria is prophetically significant. Roughly 2,600 years ago the prophet Jeremiah wrote about the eventual destruction of Damascus in Jeremiah 49. Before Damascus, trouble would start in northern Syria from Arpad. Arpad is essentially modern day Aleppo, Syria. The destruction would move south to Hamath or Hama, Syria. Finally, Damascus would see bloodshed and war before its destruction. In March 2017, all three of these cities in modern day Syria are hot spots of military conflict.

See Isaiah 17 as well for the Burden of Damascus.

March 30, 2017: The Anadolu Agency out of Turkey is reporting of chlorine gas used as a chemical weapon in Hama, Syria. The Assad regime of Syria is being accused of using chlorine on civilians. Approximately 100 civilians have been affected.

“Local residents are showing symptoms of chlorine gas exposure, including vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision and shortness of breath,” Mohamed Elwan, Hama doctor.

The Assad regime is suspected of using chlorine gas in Al-Qaboun district northeast of Damascus.

“The bombardment had a substance that caused intense irritation, heavy foaming from the mouth, and constricting pupils. A chemical attack hit the same area on Saturday, killing an orthopedic doctor,” Abdallah Darwish, Health Authority Hama Province.

The Assad regime in Syria has continually denied the use of chemical weapons and chlorine gas.

“The army has not, will not, and does not need to use these weapons,” unnamed Syrian spokesman.

Military airstrikes in the region are increasing. Russian bombing runs are nonstop per witnesses on the ground.

Escalation in violence is noted across the country including the Euphrates or Tabqa Dam. Fighting continues on the Tabqa Dam between ISIS and US backed Kurds. ISIS controls the southern part of the dam and the Kurds along with embedded US Marines holds the northern part of the dam.

Russia and ISIS are accusing the United States of trying to destroy the Euphrates Dam. The United States backed Kurds claim ISIS is bombing the dam. One thing is clear. The Tabqa Dam has taken some bombing. The control room of the dam has been destroyed. Maintenance work on the dam is required to repair failing flood gates.

“Because the dam has been out of service for three straight days, the technical equipment in the lower levels of the dam is under water. This rise in the level of the reservoir means that one of the spillways must be opened to drain the water so it doesn’t build up, which would pose a growing threat to the dam.” A nameless technician.

The United States says the dam has not been structurally damaged…

The United Nations estimates one half of Syria’s 22 million people have been displaced. The UN estimates 5 million refugees have left the country. The situation is not getting better in Syria.

Trend Update: Tabqa/Euphrates Dam Near Collapse??? March 2017

Posted in Burden of Damascus, Euphrates River, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 27, 2017 by paulthepoke

The Tabqa Dam is also known as the Euphrates Dam. It is an earthen dam 25 miles west of Raqqa, Syria. Raqqa is the proclaimed capital of ISIS. Lake Assad was created when the Euphrates Dam was constructed. The dam provides electricity and water resources to the region. -Wikipedia

March 26, 2017: There are conflicting reports about the status of the Tabqa or Euphrates Dam. ISIS is stating the dam is on the verge of collapse. Water is reportedly rising in Lake Assad due to dam malfunction. ISIS is stating the United States is bombing near the dam. Bombing raids have weakened the Euphrates Dam per ISIS. The United States is denying the claim. News sources have been unable to validate the ISIS claims.

People in Tabqa and Raqqa, Syria are heeding the warning. Thousands of people are fleeing the cities down river of the Tabqa Dam.

At this time, it is not clear who is in control of the Euphrates Dam.

This is clear. The Tabqa Military Base and Airport are under the control of Kurdish forces. This has occurred within the last day (March 26, 2017). The Tabqa Military Base is located 3-5 miles south of the Euphrates Dam. The Kurdish forces have been supported by the United States. The United States has provided air support and special forces.

Revelation 16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.

Scripture tells us towards the end of the great tribulation the Euphrates River will go dry. This is the last series of bowl judgments. It does not specifically say where on the Euphrates. It would stand to reason it would be south of this location.

Presumably the kings of the east would be China but that is speculation based on Revelation 9:16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.

Currently, there is only one country on earth that fits this army size…China.

The context of Revelation 9 and Revelation 16 have these two items in common, the Euphrates River and a massive army.

As for now, we are not in the tribulation. But the Euphrates River is in the world’s news and trending…

Trend Update: Assyrian Empire/Euphrates River, June 2014

Posted in Euphrates River, Mosul/Nineveh, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 26, 2014 by paulthepoke

The Assyrian Empire of history originates from the city of Ninevah, modern day Mosul, Iraq. Genesis 10:11 From that land he (Nimrod) went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah… The modern day region maintains it ties to the past. Mosul is located in the province of Ninevah (ABC News). This region of real estate has been in the news with the Civil War taking place in Syria (September 2013). Major oil and gas pipelines run from the Kirkuk Oil Fields to the border of Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. Once in Turkey, the pipeline runs to the west before stopping in the Mediterranean Sea where oil and gas are exported primarily to Europe. The security of these pipelines is constantly being challenged by multiple groups. At this time (June 2014), the violence and regional instability has spread and now includes northern Iraq.

The movement is spear headed by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). This group is a splinter off of Al-Qaeda. CNN completed a story which stated that ISIS is considered too violent for even Al-Qaeda. The video shown on TV validates their commitment to violence.

The leader of ISIS is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He was detained by the United States in a terrorist camp in Iraq, Camp Bucca. Al-Baghdadi was captured in 2005. In 2009, we released him. Military officials at the camp state Al-Baghdadi was not the worst of the worst. For more details click on the following link. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/14/isis-leader-see-you-in-new-york.html

With the capture of Mosul, ISIS now manages the Mosul Dam. This dam manages the control of the Tigris River in Iraq. Keep in mind, Turkey cut off flow of the Euphrates earlier in the month of June 2014. Lake Assad (another damming of the Euphrates River in Syria) has already been impacted in Syria. Lake Assad and surrounding territory in Syria is under the control of ISIS. People are already suffering the effects with no electricity and fresh water. Now, this organization effectively controls the water supplies of the nations of Syria and Iraq.

Revelation 16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.
