Resurrection Sunday, 2024

So, what if Jesus was not raised from the dead? What’s the big deal about the resurrection? Who cares? Scripture states twice in the below verses, we are wasting our time with Christianity and the Bible if the resurrection is not true. Without the resurrection, we physically die and our bodies are eternally buried. Death wins. We are dirt and worm food. Our bodies become the byproduct of worm digestion…

Job 21:26 Together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them.

Without Jesus’ resurrection, our faith is described as “vain” and “worthless”.

1 Corinthians 15:14b …your faith is also in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

The Greek word for “vain” is κενοσ/kenos. It means: empty, devoid of truth; contains nothing; empty handed; without a gift; fruitless; no purpose.

The Greek word for “worthless” is ματαιοσ/mataios. It means: devoid of force, truth, success, result; useless, of no purpose. -Definitions per Strong’s Concordance

This is our faith without the resurrection of Christ. Without Jesus’ resurrection, there is no hope for our bodies. We are dead and buried, a corrupt and purposeless mess, an empty shell.

If we are not resurrected in the future, then Christ’s resurrection in the past did not occur. We have historical proof of Jesus overcoming death with hundreds of witnesses. We know what happened to Jesus. This observation is stated at least twice by Paul. That’s the security and truth of our future resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised…

1 Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;

With the resurrection of Christ, Psalm 16:10 was prophetically fulfilled.

Psalm 16:10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

With His death, Jesus did not stay in Sheol or Hades or the grave (see Ephesians 8-10). There was no decomposition of His body.

Acts 2:31 Foreseeing this, David spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did His body see decay.

UN Security Council Votes for Ceasefire in Gaza

Zechariah 12:1-4 The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it. On that day, declares the Lord, I will strike every horse with panic, and its rider with madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.

The prophets spoke of a time when Israel would be isolated against the world. At this time, under the current Biden Administration. Israel has no support.

The abstention was the United States. This is a change in US policy towards Israel.

Vice President Harris has weighed in on the issue. She and the Administration have been “clear”. The invasion of Rafah would be a “huge mistake”.

“I am ruling out nothing…” in regards to consequences to Israel.

Zechariah 14:2-3 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.

The world would like to divide Jerusalem in the event of a Palestinian state. East Jerusalem would be the capital.

We have already seen this in the communities that border the Gaza Strip. This is exactly what happened on October 7, 2023… the houses plundered and the women raped. The prophet Zechariah says this will happen again in the future in Jerusalem. Other prophets include Judah in the south as well.

The context of Ezekiel 7 is judgment on the land of Israel. Judgment is being rendered against violence or “hamas“.

Ezekiel 7:11 Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them.

Ezekiel 7:23 Forge a chain! For the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence.

Ezekiel 7:25 When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none.

Are we witnessing the ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy? Time will tell.

This Week in Prophecy: CBS & Red Heifers, Crocus Hall, Putin Re Elected, Sea Security Belt

Numbers 19:5-6 And the heifer shall be burned in his sight. Its skin, its flesh, and its blood, with its dung, shall be burned. And the priest shall take cedarwood and hyssop and scarlet yarn, and throw them into the fire burning the heifer.

Since when does CBS care about the Bible, specifically Numbers 19 and what it has to say about a red heifer? All credit to CBS and Chris Livesay, they actually did a pretty decent job with the coverage and overview of the situation. CBS presented a 5 minute story on CBS Saturday Morning.

CBS also accurately pointed out comments from Hamas and their justification for their actions into Israel on October 7, 2023.

“We look back 100 days to remember the educated, the complicit, and the incapacitated among the world powers governed by the law of the jungle, reminding them of an aggression that reached its peak against our path (Al-Quds) and Al-Aqsa, with the start of its actual temporal and spatial division, and the ‘bringing of red cows’ as an application of a detestable religious myth designed for aggression against the feelings of an entire nation in the heart of its Arab identity, and the path of its prophet (the Night Journey) and Ascension to heaven.” -Abu Obeida, Military Spokesman, Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas

The CBS article looks at many different perspectives on the issue including a Christian perspective. Granted, not all Christians are going to agree with the position CBS chose to represent on the topic of the red heifer sacrifice and its necessity.

“We’re going to accept the Messiah, and we need the Messiah to come,” Byron Stinson, a Texan who helped bring the cows to Israel, said at the gathering. “For me, the red heifer is red for the blood of Jesus Christ. That’s why it’s red.”

Remember about five years ago in 2019, the Temple Institute practiced the sacrificial burning process for the red heifer.

As best as can be understood, of the five red heifers delivered to Israel from Texas, four appear to remain as possible candidates.

The sacrifice has to happen before the Third Temple can be rebuilt. There has to be a Third Temple for the antichrist to defile. Jesus said and quoted Daniel. The Apostle Paul confirms it.

Keep your eyes on Passover this year. The appointment begins at sun set on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 on our western Gregorian calendar. Speculation is running high there could be a Red Heifer Sacrifice.

From the land of ancient Magog or modern day Russia…

Breaking News out of Russia this weekend… A major terrorist attack has occurred in Moscow at Crocus City Hall. At least 11 have been arrested by Russian authorities. The death toll at this time is 143 and an additional 115 are in the hospital.

Vladimir Putin was re elected earlier this week. With a consolidation of power, Putin may have more flexibility to respond accordingly when it comes to international affairs.

Revelation 16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east.

Russia, China, and Iran recently completed the naval portion of the Sea Security Belt 2024. Over 20 ships joined in the drills.

For their part, Iran states the exercise will help support initiatives of world peace and maritime security.

Purim 5784/2024

Esther 9:20-22 Then Mordecai recorded these events, and he sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, both near and far, obliging them to celebrate the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same month, annually, because on those days the Jews rid themselves of their enemies, and it was a month which was turned for them from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and rejoicing and sending portions of food to one another and gifts to the poor.

The celebration is to take place in the Hebrew month of Adar on the 14th and 15th day. In the Gregorian year of 2024, the event starts on sundown Saturday, March 23rd and ends the next day on Sunday, March 24th. Scripture tells us the holiday is to be celebrated annually.

Esther 2:16 And when Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign…

So a Persian wanted to eliminate the Jewish people. This is a real historical event. The setting of the story is in the book of Esther. The events of the story took place from 483-473 BC. The location is Susa of the Persian Empire. This would be modern day Iran.

History knows King Ahasuerus as Xerxes I.

We don’t know for sure who wrote the book of Esther. Jewish tradition holds Esther was written by Mordecai.

But whatever happened to Xerxes I and Persia after these events in the Bible? History tells us his attention was clearly divided during the time period of Esther.

Xerxes followed Darius in 485 B.C. Darius had been smoked by the Greeks. So naturally, Xerxes was going to reclaim Persian glory from the Greeks. He wanted to conquer all of Greece. Xerxes’ plan did not work out well either and the Greeks essentially destroyed the Persians in 479 B.C. This pretty much ended any ambitions Xerxes had planned. Xerxes was assassinated by servants in 464 B.C. The Heart of Hebrew History, H.I. Hester, p. 301, 1949.

King Xerxes was not buried with his Queen, Esther. He was buried in Naqsh-e Rostam outside of modern day Shiraz.

Esther 9:3-4 And all the officials of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and the king’s administrators helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai had fallen upon them. For Mordecai exercised great power in the palace, and his fame spread throughout the provinces as he became more and more powerful.

Esther 10:3 For Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews and highly favored by his many kinsmen, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

Historical evidence shows it was Queen Esther and the Prime Minister Mordecai who were buried together. Today in the 21st century, Hamadan, Iran is home to the tombs of Esther and Mordecai.

This Week in Prophecy: Biden Diplomacy, Mark Robinson, Shrimp

Judges 16:1 Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a prostitute there, and had relations with her.

History tells us, Samson had a thing for Philistine women.

Israel says they are going to finish Hamas. An invasion of Rafah is looming. President Biden is pushing for a cease fire to start before the holy month of Ramadan begins on Sunday, March 10th.

So a demented Gentile man is going to pressure a Jewish man, the leader of Israel, and change his mind about the security of the Jewish people. And He is going to lead with Jesus.

Even God can use Joe Biden to tell His chosen people about His Son, Jesus.

Hosea 4:1-3 Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land! Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another. Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.

Clearly, the event off the coast of Yemen is not the fulfillment of the Hosea prophecy. But, take a look at the conditions stated and the context of the culture prior to judgment. Does this sound familiar? It should be a wake up call!

This Week in Prophecy: Russian Talk, Red Sea & Internet Cables

Ezekiel 38: 21-23 …I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’

Gog is the leader of ancient Rosh, Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Beth-Togarmah. These ancient places would be modern day Russia and Turkey. Is Vladimir Putin Gog? If he is, time is short.
