This post is literally a word study of what the word “hamas” means in Arabic and in Hebrew. The title “Hamas” is also an acronym from an Arabic phrase.
The term “hamas” was also addressed in light of prophetical significance.

They think they know what is best for everyone. They want their way.

The premise of the article is that God rejected the Yom Kippur sacrifice the forty years preceding the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. Since the Temple is no more, the High Priest of Israel has been unable to enter the Holy of Holies and make the sacrifice on behalf of himself and the nation to this day.
We are approaching 2,000 years of God rejecting Israel’s Day of Atonement sacrifice.
Historically, who arrived on the scene 40 years prior to 70 A.D.? Well, that would be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now depending on the timeline one subscribes to, Jesus was sacrificed for sin in one of two likely dates, 30 A.D. or 33 A.D. In either case, His ministry and/or death were on the scene in 30 A.D. Israel rejected their Messiah. Jesus is the atonement for sin for all and for all time.
How do we know God rejected the sacrifice prior to the flattening of the Temple? What proof is there for 40 years of history prior to 70 A.D.? Scribes of the times observed some strange happenings taking place starting in 30 A.D.
Authors of the Talmud chronicled their observations from 30 to 70 A.D. The Talmud, meaning learning or study, is a Jewish book of teachings and commentaries regarding the law, theology, sayings, arguments and rebuttals.
Granted, these documents are not Biblical Canon but they are historical documents of events that took place. In the case of the Talmud, there are two witnesses.
Babylonian Talmud: “Our Rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple, the lot [‘for the Lord’] did not come up in the right hand; nor did the crimson-colored strap become white; nor did the westernmost light shine; and the doors of the Hekal (Temple) would open by themselves” (The Soncino Talmud, tractate ‘Yoma,’ 39b).
Jerusalem Talmud: “Forty years before the destruction of the Temple, the western light went out, the crimson thread remained crimson, and the lot for the Lord always came up in the left hand. They would close the gates of the Temple by night and get up in the morning and find them wide open” (The Yerushalmi, translated by Jacob Neusner, p. 156f).

Why Two Witnesses?
Deuteronomy 19:15-21 A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed. If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing, then both the men who have the dispute shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days. The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely, then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you. The rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you. Thus you shall not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
The evidence presented is consistent. History agrees, the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. The time frame of 40 years is noted. There are 4 points of agreement.
The lot of the Lord was in the left hand.
The crimson strap remained crimson.
The western light was out.
The doors of the Temple were open in the morning.
Per the Mosaic Law, the findings of the Babylonian Talmud and Jerusalem Talmud are established facts per two independent witnesses.

However, there is the Hebrew word “hamas“. Per lexicons and dictionaries in the Hebrew, “hamas” means violence. The word is translated as violence, wrong, or malicious in the Bible.
The first time “hamas” is used in the Bible is in Genesis before the flood.
Genesis 6:11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence.
Genesis 6:13 And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
And with this initial recognition and observation, God’s response to humanity’s violence is to eliminate “hamas“. Humanity had defiled the earth or the land with violence. Note also, God’s original intent was to destroy the earth along with humanity. And He did with water.

Let’s take a look at what a prophet had to say about violence or “hamas“.
The context of Ezekiel 7 is judgment on the land of Israel. Judgment is being rendered against violence or “hamas“.

As the Fall Feasts are finishing, welcome to a new series… Sacrificial System REJECTED
Amos 5:21-24 “I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the peace offerings of your fattened animals, I will not look upon them. Take away from me the noise of your songs; to the melody of your harps I will not listen. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Of note, the context of the verses above is “The Day of the Lord”. We are talking End Times and Israel’s future.
The name Amos means burden bearer. Amos was a shepherd from Tekoa, a small village a few miles south of Bethlehem and about 3 to 4 miles east of Ephratah. Who else do we know that was born near by and bears the burden of many?
Amos was sent to the Northern Kingdom of Israel to warn against oppressing the poor, self indulgence, and the obsession of luxurious and lavish living. Sound familiar?

A common theme with members of the body of Christ is to proclaim sacrifices are no longer necessary. True! Read Hebrews 10 as well as many other chapters and verses! There is no more need for the sacrificial system. A major theme of the book of Hebrews is Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law sacrifices with His death and shedding of His blood on the cross at Calvary. Encouraging all to read the book of Hebrews.
Historically in the Old Testament, God frequently rejected sacrifices of the Jewish people. He did not want their sacrifices. Nation Israel was merely going through the process, a religious work. God does not want pomp and circumstance, He wants heart, conviction, and dedication to Him and His word.
Isaiah 66:3 Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man; whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck; whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig’s blood; whoever offers frankincense is like one who blesses an idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.
Jeremiah 6:20 What use to Me is frankincense from Sheba or sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable; your sacrifices do not please Me.”
Jeremiah 7:21 This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Add your burnt offerings to your other sacrifices and eat the meat yourselves!
As we move forward in this series, to this very day in the 21st century, we have no idea to what extent God has rejected nation Israel and their sacrifices…
Leviticus 23:33-36 Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD. On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.’”
The seven day holiday was initiated at sunset on Friday, September 29, 2023 and runs through Saturday, October 07, 2023. On God’s calendar, The Festival is scheduled to start on Tishri 15-21.
Sukkot is one of the three Festivals where Israelites are commanded to make the road trip to the Temple in Jerusalem.

We mostly think about when God comes to Earth to dwell with us. Jesus lived with humanity 2,000 years ago (Gospel Accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). The Holy Spirit has indwelled in believers since the beginning of the church in Acts 2. Christ has promised to return to Earth and reign for 1,000 years (Revelation 20). Eventually, God the Father will tabernacle with His creation on Earth in Revelation 21.

September 29, 2023, Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said relations between Russia and South Sudan were developing “intensively”. Speaking at a meeting with the South Sudan President Salva Kiir in Moscow, Putin noted Russia was one of the first countries to recognise the sovereignty and independence of South Sudan.
“I must say we believe that we have a lot to do, primarily in the area of economic development,” Putin added.
Kiir said he was happy for the warm welcome and stressed that he was in Moscow “as an opening for our long work in the future.”
South Sudan was one of the African countries present at the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg.
The meeting took place as Kremlin seeks more allies amid the military campaign in Ukraine.

September 30, 2023, Punjab Province, Pakistan: A massive outbreak of conjunctivitis or Pink Eye is spreading.
Pink Eye or Conjunctivitis is an irritation or inflammation of the conjunctiva, which covers the white part of the eyeball. It can be caused by allergies or a bacterial or viral infection. Conjunctivitis can be extremely contagious, and is spread by contact with eye secretions from someone who is infected.
Symptoms include redness, itching, and tearing of the eyes. It can also lead to discharge or crusting around the eyes.
It’s important to stop wearing contact lenses while affected by conjunctivitis. It often resolves on its own, but treatment can speed the recovery process. Allergic conjunctivitis can be treated with antihistamines. Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated with antibiotic eye drops.

Interim health minister assures the public the government is making active efforts to control infectious diseases in Pakistan
Schools have been closed for 4 days in an attempt to stop the spread of Pink Eye.
“The scourge of dengue virus and eye infection will be controlled through collective efforts and coordinated strategy and though it is a difficult task but still achievable,” Nadeem Jan, Pakistan’s Interim Health Minister.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan news agency, Jan assured the public the government was actively implementing effective measures to control disease outbreaks in the country, adding that a committee of experts had been assembled to comprehensively address the matter.
