Isaiah 49:12 Look, they come from far away! Look, some come from the north and west, and others from the land of Sinim!

Genesis 10:16-18 the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites. Eventually the families of the Canaanites were scattered.

The following is from the Genesis Record, Henry Morris.

The Biblical mention of a people in the Far East named “Sinim” (Isaiah 49:12), together with references in ancient secular histories to people in the Far East called “Sinae,” at least suggests the possibility that some of Sin’s descendants migrated eastward, while others went south into the land of Canaan. It is significant that the Chinese people have always been identified by the prefix “Sino-” (e.g., Sino-Japanese War; Sinology, the study of Chinese history). The name “Sin” is frequently encountered in Chinese names in the form “Siang” or its equivalent.

The evidence is tenuous but, of all the names in the Table of Nations, it does seem that two sons of Canaan, Heth (Hittites = Khittae = Cathay) and Sin (Sinites = Sinim = China), are the most likely to have become ancestors of the Oriental peoples. Since it seems reasonable that divine inspiration would include in such a table information concerning the ancestry of all the major streams of human development, it is reasonable to conclude that the Mongoloid peoples (and therefore also the American Indians) have come mostly from the Hamitic line.

Glimmers of Hope

Hope simply deals with possibilities. If something is still possible, even in our wildest dreams, if there is still a glimmer of hope, it is worth hanging on to for as long as it exists. —Peter G. Doumit, What I Know about Baseball Is What I Know about Life

In Matthew, Jesus tells a parable to illustrate the kindness and compassion He wants His followers to extend to those around them, particularly those who are often invisible in society. He says, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” (Matthew 25:40, NLT)

Who are “the least of these” today?

Not much has changed since Jesus spoke those words. There are still the “invisibles” around us. They aren’t truly invisible; we just make excuses and justify our choice not to look.

“The least of these” could include a good friend who you know is struggling with something, but whose struggle you’ve not wanted to wade into with them. However, “the least of these” may also include a whole population of society you may not interact with often, or perhaps you only interact with professionally.

Jesus’ expectation of us is to be so full of His love that we love like Him by default. That means we allow our eyes, as well as our hearts, to be moved by compassion to action. Feeling sad or feeling sorry isn’t enough. We must be moved enough to be His hands, His feet, His smile, His words, His deeds.

Compassion is free, except that it demands what’s most valuable, our hearts. We must be careful to not close our hearts off to what we don’t understand. Sometimes the very thing we have guarded and protected most is the thing God purposed for us to share. Perhaps the thing you have tended with care and passion is meant to give hope to someone else.

Stellarium

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Ebola Outbreak, Democratic Republic of the Congo, April 2019

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Pestilence, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , , , , on April 23, 2019 by paulthepoke

Luke 21:11b …and in various places famines and pestilences. Jesus

Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.

April 2019: The Democratic Republic of the Congo is currently experiencing an outbreak of the Ebola Virus. The outbreak is reported in the North Kivu Province. To date, this is the second deadliest outbreak.

North Kivu Province Outline in Red

These are the latest numbers per the World Health Organization as of April 21, 2019.

Total cases: 1340
– Confirmed cases: 1274
– Probable cases: 66

Deaths: 874
– Confirmed: 808
– Probable: 66

For now, health experts state this is not an international crisis or global emergency. Ninety (90) percent of the cases acquired have been deadly.

To make matters worse, local militia groups are attacking hospitals and health care providers in the region. These groups believe foreign workers are bringing the Ebola Virus to their home land.

Some locals deny the reality and existence of Ebola. Violence combined with ignorance has hampered efforts to slow and stop the virus.

Per Mayo Clinic, the Ebola virus causes severe bleeding, organ failure, and can lead to death. Initial symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, and chills. Later, a person may experience internal bleeding resulting in vomiting or coughing blood.

Pain areas: in the abdomen, chest, joints, or muscles.

Whole body: chills, dehydration, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, malaise, or sweating.

Gastrointestinal: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or vomiting blood.

Also common: coughing up blood, eye redness, headache, mental confusion, red spots on skin, or sore throat.

Let me be perfectly clear. The events in the Democratic Republic of the Congo do not point to Revelation 6. We are not there on the timeline. But when we get there, one quarter (1/4) of the earth will be affected. 1/4 of 7,700,000,000 = 1.925 billion! We have never seen anything of this scale. And this will be only the beginning. We will not have to ask if we are in the Tribulation…

Ezekiel 38:12 to capture spoil and to seize plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the center of the world.

These are the intentions of Gog, the leader of Magog (Russia). The Russians along with Turkey, Iran, and others are going to invade to steal natural resources from Israel.

Resurrection Consequences

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Prophecy, Resurrection, Spring Feasts with tags , , , , , on April 19, 2019 by paulthepoke

There are two words used for the concept of “resurrection”. Here is how the words can be translated from the original Greek. The first example is in the verse below.

1 Corinthians 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;

The Greek word for “resurrection” is αναστασισ/anastasis. It means: raising up, rising (e.g. from a seat); a rising from the dead; that of Christ; that of all men at the end of this present age. -Strong’s Concordance

The second example is “raised”.

1 Corinthians 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…

The Greek word for “raised” is εγειρο/egeiro”. It means: to awake, to arouse from the sleep of death, to recall the dead to life. -Strong’s Concordance

With the resurrection of Christ, Psalm 16:10 was prophetically fulfilled.

Psalm 16:10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

With His death, Jesus did not stay in Sheol or Hades or the grave (see Ephesians 8-10). There was no decomposition of His body.

Acts 2:31 Foreseeing this, David spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did His body see decay.

Without Jesus’ resurrection, our faith is described as “vain” and “worthless”.

1 Corinthians 15:14b …your faith is also in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

The Greek word for “vain” is κενοσ/kenos. It means: empty, devoid of truth; contains nothing; empty handed; without a gift; fruitless; no purpose.

The Greek word for “worthless” is ματαιοσ/mataios. It means: devoid of force, truth, success, result; useless, of no purpose. -Definitions per Strong’s Concordance

This is our faith without the resurrection of Christ. Without Jesus’ resurrection, there is no hope for our bodies. We are dead and buried, a corrupt and purposeless mess, an empty shell.

If we are not resurrected in the future, then Christ’s resurrection in the past did not occur. We have historical proof of Jesus overcoming death with hundreds of witnesses. We know what happened to Jesus. This observation is stated at least twice by Paul. That’s the security and truth of our future resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised…

1 Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;

The resurrection of Jesus is the power of God. The resurrection validates and authenticates Christ’s death on the cross which is the payment for sin. The resurrection is dominance over death. It proved Jesus was Deity. Jesus was literally raised out of, from among the dead. He is the first of the resurrection. Without the Jesus’ resurrection, there is no hope for our bodies. He is the guarantee our resurrection. Without it, our faith is pointless. The promise of the resurrection is the re-connection of our body, soul, and spirit into a glorified body.

God the Father will judge the world through His Son Jesus. Based on what, the fact of the resurrection.

Acts 17:31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”

The Most Important Decision Of Your Life

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Gospel, Resurrection with tags , , , , on April 19, 2019 by paulthepoke

Featuring Dave Panico

If I asked you what the most important decision of your life is, what would that be? Would it be your Career? Choosing your spouse? What car to drive? Where to Live? Where to invest money?

These are all important decisions, but they are all worldly/earthly but are useless in the long term (except for choosing your Spouse). We have maybe 80 to 100 years here on earth and then we die. Now what happens? Does the car, investments, house, status career matter now? No, it does not.

When we leave this earth, we are then faced with the reality of who Jesus Christ is. We will see him face to face. All our stuff will not matter. What will matter is if we have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in our earthly life and lived a life of following Him and doing His work in the earthy world.

This week we come to Easter which celebrates Jesus conquering the plans of the Devil and defeating him. Jesus defeated the devil (Satan) on the cross. The devil didn’t want Jesus to go to the cross. If Jesus did not go the cross the Devil would have won and there would be no hope of Heaven. Jesus had to pay the price to be literally slaughtered for our sin (mistakes – screw ups) so we could get into Heaven and have eternal life with Jesus. This was an act of love and Jesus CHOSE to do this. No one took His life. He gave it willingly for you, for me and for every human. This was the ultimate sacrifice and a very precious gift. The question is why would you or anyone refuse to accept this gift? How does one refuse the gift? By rejecting Jesus Christ.

I hear about veterans who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedom we have in this country. When we refuse to vote or do our part, we are rejecting the sacrifice /gift that the veterans gave us.

I want to ask you if you have accepted Jesus? If Not, I’d like to know your reasons. Feel free to email me. After all this is the most important decision of your life.

When you accept Jesus, you not only make an investment in your life but others as well. Jesus has the power, wisdom, love, everything you need for your life. He’s not Political so there’s no bribing or corruption with Him. (I like this part). Did you also know there will be more rewards in heaven than what you can obtain in this earthly world?

Oh, I should mention that Jesus did raise from the dead after being brutally slaughtered and then appeared to over 500 people. This is when He defeated the devil, and this is what Easter is all about.

1 Corinthians 15:3-10 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
