Evil vs. God… Featuring Phil Kulis

Posted in Phil Kulis with tags , , , , , , , on May 31, 2018 by paulthepoke

Genesis 3:4-5 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

philkulis-picEvil is a necessary contrast to God.
How else would we know Good?

But how does God get rid of Evil when those who know the difference choose Him?

He gave Satan power, free will and eternal life. Can He just renege on what He gave?

Mankind may be a forum to reveal Himself, then permanently destroy Evil and Death.

It seems to me that if Evil took away God’s power, free will and life by throwing Him in prison, judging Him, nailing Him to a cross and killing Him, then God is justified in doing the same in return.

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people He will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation 21:4-6 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

Myth or Truth, Islam is “Peace”… Thoughts from an American Soldier

Posted in American soldier with tags , , , , , , , , on May 30, 2018 by paulthepoke

Muslims often complain of misconceptions about their religion in the West. We took a hard look. The most prevalent myths of Islam are the ones held by Muslims and Western apologists.  The only exception may be the misconception that all Muslims are alike. They are not of course. But many Muslims apparently believe this as well. This is why there are various factions insisting that they are true Muslims. Those who disagree with them are either infidels, hijackers, or hypocrites.  Don’t be fooled! Hear the myths but know the truth.

Islam Means “Peace”

The Myth: Muslim apologists sometimes claim that the root word of Islam is “al-Salaam,” which is “peace” in Arabic.

The Truth: An Arabic word has only one root.  The root word for Islam is “al-Silm,” which means “submission” or “surrender.”

There is no disagreement about this among Arabic or Islamic scholars. al-Silm (submission) does not mean the same thing as al-Salaam (peace).

Submission and peace can be very different concepts. But peace can be brought about by forcing others into submission.

As the modern-day Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Sulaiman, puts it, “Jihad is not inhumane. Despite its necessary violence and bloodshed, its ultimate desire is peace which is protected and enhanced by the rule of law.”

In truth, the Quran not only calls Muslims to submit to Allah, it also orders them to subdue people of other religions until they are in a full state of submission to Islamic rule.  This has inspired the aggressive history of Islam, its military, and demographic success in conquering other cultures.

Trend Update: Hamas Attacks Israeli Preschool, May 2018

Zephaniah 2:4-5 For Gaza shall be deserted, and Ashkelon shall become a desolation; Ashdod’s people shall be driven out at noon, and Ekron shall be uprooted. Woe to you inhabitants of the seacoast, you nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; and I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left.

Developing Breaking Story…

May 29, 2018: Hamas and Islamic Jihad continue to fire multiple rounds of mortar shells into southern Israel. Sirens continue to blare across southern Israel. This is reported to be the heaviest amount of Gaza mortar fire in close to four years.

“Israel will extract a heavy price from anyone who tries to harm it,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Outrage was expressed by politicians across Israel. The largest grievance filed was over Hamas targeting a preschool.

“Shooting mortars at a preschool crosses a serious red line. We cannot allow terrorist organizations to hurt and undermine the security of the children and other residents of the Gaza envelope towns.” Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein

See video link for additional geography and analysis.

UN Mideast Envoy Nickolay Mladenov expressed condemnation over targeting a preschool.

“…deeply concerned by the indiscriminate firing of rockets by Palestinian militants from Gaza towards communities in southern Israel…. hit in the immediate vicinity of a kindergarten and could have killed or injured children. Such attacks are unacceptable and undermine the serious efforts by the international community to improve the situation in Gaza.” UN Mideast Envoy Nickolay Mladenov

Israel is responding…

Prime Minister Netanyahu took the time to address Israeli concerns with Iran in the northern part of Israel in the Golan Heights.

“We will not allow Iran to entrench itself in Syria and act against us, and to manufacture weapons in Lebanon. Iran needs to leave Syria entirely. In any event, we will act according to our interests, with or without understandings. We will defend ourselves by ourselves, since we are determined to ensure our future.” -Benjamin Netanyahu

Trend Update: Blood Red Parana River Delta, Argentina, May 2018

Posted in Blood Red Water/Aquatic Death, Prophecy, Revelation, Trend Update with tags , , , , on May 29, 2018 by paulthepoke

Revelation 16:4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood.

May 29, 2018: Experts in Argentina are clueless. What caused the Parana River Delta to turn blood red??? An algae bloom has been ruled out! Pollution has been suspected. Stay away from the water until conclusive test results have been obtained.

Specifically, the river is located in Tigre, Argentina near Buenos Aires.

This is Argentina’s first report of a blood red body of water. Let’s welcome Argentina to the growing list of nations…

Is this an omen for World Cup Soccer (excuse me, futbol) performance???

This is one river delta in Argentina. At some point in the future, the scope and scale will be planet earth.

See video link for additional analysis and geography.

Please…Please Listen to Mercy

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on May 28, 2018 by paulthepoke

Please respond to mercy…

Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us…

The Greek word for mercy is ἔλεος/eleos. It is defined as pity or compassion. Mercy is being excused from a deserved punishment or outcome. HELPS Word-studies states it is God’s loyalty to His covenant. The word is used 27 times in the New Testament.

Eleos is defined as “compassion” in some cases. For example…

Matthew 9:13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion/mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” -Jesus

These are the words of Jesus in Matthew. He is quoting Hosea 6:6. The issue is one’s mental attitude, focus, and heart towards God. The Lord wants our hearts, not acts of religion.

Hosea 6:6 For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

The first time “mercy” is used in the Bible is in Genesis 19:16. The context is Lot’s family and Sodom and Gomorrah. God’s action towards Lot and his daughters is “merciful”. Notice, Lot and his daughters were spared from the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot’s wife was extended mercy and she ultimately rejected mercy. Judgment, she became a pillar of salt. It does not matter if one is extended mercy. What are you as an individual going to do with mercy that has been extended to you?

Genesis 19:16 But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.

This is the Hebrew word chemlah. It means pity or compassion just as the Greek word ἔλεος/eleos. Chemlah comes from the Hebrew word chamal which means to spare. The word implies we are responsible. Justice demands judgment. If a transgression is noted, punishment is indicated. The wage of sin is death. But, God is merciful.

Chemlah is used one other time in the Old Testament prophet of Isaiah. God is a God of mercy, even in the Old Testament. In the verse below chemlah is translated as pity.

Isaiah 63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

At the time of Isaiah’s writing, the verse above had prophetic implications toward the future work of Jesus Christ. Hindsight being 20/20 in the 21st century, we know this is talking about Jesus.

Afflicted… Who took affliction on behalf of an afflicted people?

…the angel of his presence… literally means “messenger of faces”. This messenger “saved” or yasha in the Hebrew. Yasha means to deliver or save from moral trouble. This is the verb form of the root word. The noun form of the word is “Yeshua”. Jesus is the English translation of Yeshua. Jesus delivers His people. Yeshua yasha…

God loves us and has compassion towards us. God will send us a “redeemer” or ga`al in the Hebrew. This is the same word that is used for the kinsman redeemer in the book of Ruth. The role of the ga`al is to avenge. He will seek revenge on behalf of the people. His blood has paid the ransom for sin. His people will be redeemed from bondage and slavery. Jesus is a kinsman from the tribe of Judah.

The redeemer lifts and bears the responsibility of all the short comings of His people. He is offering if anyone is willing to take the gift.

Please listen, judgment is coming to whole world.

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

John 12:31-32 “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” -Jesus

Mercy is available. There is time now. Jesus is merciful…

mercy

Isaiah 14:26-27 This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?

Please…

Memorial Day 2018Please take the time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Please take the time to give gratitude to our active duty military personnel who protect our freedom. Enjoy time with your family and friends during this Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

The older I get the more I realize that family is everything. I regret time not spent with them. Cousins were my first best friends & are the ones that will always have my back. There’s a special bond & love in family that honestly can’t be duplicated. Family is love!

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.

Christine McDonaldProstitute. Addict. Homeless. Criminal. Christine “Clarity” McDonald, survivor of human trafficking and author of the memoir Cry Purple, challenges the biases and assumptions we commonly hold about exploited and marginalized populations. Through stories of her own lived experiences, Scripture, thought-provoking commentary, and practical resources, she unveils the humanity of these individuals and helps us to see them through the eyes of Jesus — eyes of grace. In helping us see the humanity of those we often judge or shun, she empowers us to instead reach out with arms of love and a message of hope.

Yes, I won’t lie. It makes me feel some kind of way when you are connecting with your Christian circles. You are hurting or in need. And they say, “Everything happens for a reason.” There is a time for that conversation. Sometimes we just need to share empathy… and allow one another to hurt. -Christine “Clarity” McDonald

Christians: When someone has tragedy and your response is “everything happens for a reason,” you make God sound like an asshole. Stop saying that. Not everything that happens is God’s will. He’s not an asshole. -Anny Donewald, CEO & Founder at Eve’s Angels
