Straight Talk, Creation v. Random Chance… Rodna Epley

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Francis Crick (Scientist, Biologist, Physiologist and outspoken Atheist (1916-2004) who is credited with co-discovering, along with James Watson, the double-helix structure of the DNA strand, made the following statement.

“Biologists must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed, but rather evolved.”

Really? A Darwinistic Evolutionist telling the science community that they must constantly remind themselves that the things they see are not created but have evolved. So why do scientists purposefully go against what common sense tells us is true about life? Everything that has life in it reveals that only a Designer could make such complex mechanical systems.

Reminds me of what Paul the Apostle once said a couple thousand years ago…

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

And what the said Apostle John about Jesus…

John 1:3-4 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

How about atheistic scientists stop reminding themselves to continually hold a presuppositional view that is philosophical in nature and stubbornly wants to deny God. The evidence continually reveals a Designer in literally everything living that is studied under a microscope or in a lab!

Who can watch this video and still believe there’s no Designer behind life? Randomness didn’t create the complexities of life. Randomness could create nothing but chaos.

Magnetic North on the Move, January 2019

Isaiah 24:20 The earth staggers like a drunken man; it sways like a hut; its transgression lies heavy upon it, and it falls, and will not rise again.

Granted, the context of the verse above is likely during the tribulation and God’s judgment upon the earth. See Isaiah 24 for complete details. Let me be clear, as of January 2019, we are not in the tribulation. But, we are trending closer to the time the prophet warned from over 2,700 years ago.

January 2019: The magnetic field of the north end of the planet is going from Canada to Siberia. Scientists postulate the molten inner core of the planet is moving.

Why does this matter? The magnetic field is the foundation for modern navigation in the 21st century. The field affects GPS systems, smart phones and their ability to navigate us on a daily basis.

The latest model was completed in 2015 and was not scheduled to be updated until 2020. But changes are happening rapidly. In 2016, a geomagnetic pulse beneath northern South America and the eastern Pacific Ocean occurred.

In 2018, the magnetic north pole had crossed over the International Date Line into the Eastern Hemisphere. Scientists indicate magnetic north is moving towards Siberia at 34 miles per year (55 km/year).

Scientists do not understand why the poles are moving so rapidly. They have theories but no concrete answers. It is one thing to describe an event. It is another to understand it.

Roughly 2,700 years ago, Isaiah had insight into this “staggering” phenomenon. Isaiah said the earth would totter around like a drunk. He also said, the shaking would eventually increase along with other significant seismic activity. Significant seismic activity is a characteristic of the end time scenario.

Seismic frequency and intensity are on the increase over the past decades. The trend and trajectory are up. It will not be isolated to a country or a region of that country. The scope and scale of Biblical prophecy is global.

Isaiah 24:21 On that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth.

Thus Says The atheist… Featuring Phil Kulis

The atheists keep saying, “There’s no evidence for God”. Yet they can’t explain anything.

Deep Time isn’t deep enough.

The Cambrian Explosion destroys any suggestions of a “fossil record”.

They can’t explain the stratification process of the earth’s crust.

They can’t explain how fossilization which is an extremely rapid process occurs in a process of stratification that supposedly takes millions of years.

They can’t explain the origin of information in DNA.

They can’t explain the origin of sexual reproduction.

They can’t explain irreducible complexity.

They can’t explain consciousness.

They can’t explain Life.

They have zero awareness of the personal relationship that believers have with God yet pretend to be more of an authority on someone’s personal relationship than the persons involved!

They have no understanding of the Bible.

They have no hope for anything beyond this brief mortal existence.

But somehow, they’re supposed to be believed when they say that they know with certainty that there is no God, the Creator and Savior.

In summary they have no knowledge, no understanding and no hope.

What’s the point or benefit of being an atheist? They have nothing to offer except a lonely misguided self-centered smugness. What a sad state of existence!

The Religion of Scientism…Featuring Phil Kulis

He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

There are lots of things I don’t understand about the cosmos. But in all my years of reading what “scientists” say about the cosmos, it hasn’t instilled confidence in Scientism. On the contrary, the high priests of scientism mathmagically conjure up dark matter and dark energy. They claim it makes up 96% of the universe. Scientism has yet to say what or where it is. Especially now they’re finding out that dark matter doesn’t exist. Their God denying belief system appears more and more absurd.

Scientism attributes randomness to the cause of life. Yet, scientism can’t explain how unconscious, inanimate matter becomes self-aware, aware of other matter, and aware of a supposed goal and purpose beyond matter (that is, self-improvement for its own sake). Neither can scientism explain irreducible complexity. This doesn’t instill confidence in scientism.

When the high priests of scientism have continually changed their estimate of the age of the universe by exponential factors to shoehorn their belief system, it doesn’t instill confidence in their belief system of scientism.

Meanwhile atheists rail against those who believe in God and say they “reject science”. No, believers don’t “reject science”. Science is a method of investigation, not a belief system. Those who believe in God reject scientism which poses as scientific. Scientism summarily rejects anything whatsoever to do with the non-material, which is just as real as the material. It is the atheistic scientism types who are the ones rejecting reality.

The atheists accuse those who believe in God as believing in the “God of the gaps”. The areas of knowledge and understanding do not explain away God.  Scientism thinks God only exists beyond the areas “conquered” by scientism in the minds of believers who are presumed to lack scientific understanding. They believe as science advances scientism will eliminate God.

But that is the furthest thing from the truth. The truth is the explanation of all things confirms God. Their profession of the “God of the gaps” beyond the frontier of understanding actually proves God.

The atheistic advocates of scientism don’t have the answers. They’re just angry with a God they say doesn’t exists. They’re desperately trying to prove wrong the inevitability of their choice for eternity.

Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

August 8, 2017: This is a trend that has occurred in the last week or so. Archaeology digs around the Promised Land continue to unearth a wealth of information. The conclusion, the Bible is an accurate source of historical information.

Genesis 1:26-27 God Created Man

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Man is made in the image of God. This point is made twice in the opening statement of verse 26. The point that humanity is made in the image of God is repeated a third time at the end of the passage in verse 27.

God introduces the idea of creating man in verse 26. “Let us make man…” In verse 27, He repeats on three occasions, that He created. God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God is pretty emphatic that He is the One who made man. This was not left to random chance and primordial slime.

Note, the text does not say that an ape was made millions of years ago and over time it evolved into homo erectus then to neanderthal and eventually into modern day man. We still have monkeys, apes, and man, but no transitional species? The transitional species are extinct? How convenient. There is no statement in the Bible of “transitional species” or “missing links” any where in the text. Fossil evidence does not support intermediate, transitional, or missing links.

To date, there has been nothing found to truthfully purport as a transitional species to man…If further pressed, I would have to state that there is more evidence to suggest an abrupt arrival of man rather than gradual process of evolving.”

Man, in addition to apes and monkeys, was made on day six, not millions of years ago.

Man’s purpose is defined by God. The purpose of man is to rule over animal life. Man is to rule over fish, birds, cattle, and creeping things. He is to rule over the entirety of the earth.

Genesis 1:20 Day 5

 Genesis 1:20 Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”

Day five once again pits God and the order He created versus man and how he explains the order of what he observes. What one believes will determine how one sees the world. God created water life first, then He created the birds that fill the sky. The following observations are courtesy of Ken Ham.

Bible:  Birds were created before land animals.

Science: Land animals were before birds.

Bible:  Whales were created before land animals.

Science: Land animals were before whales.

Bible: Land plants were created before sea creatures.

Science: Sea creatures were before land plants.

Bible: Starfish were created before earthworms.

Science: Earthworms were before starfish.

Bible: Birds were created before reptiles.

Science: Reptiles were before birds.

Bible: Whales were created before land animals.

Science: Land mammals were before whales.

Bible: Bats were created before land animals.

Science: Land mammals were before bats.

Bible: Birds were created before dinosaurs.

Science: Dinosaurs were before birds.

Bible: Dolphins were created before dinosaurs.

Science: Dinosaurs were before dolphins.

Bible: Pterosaurs was created before land reptiles.

Science: Land reptiles were before pterosaurs.

Bible: Flying insects were created before land insects.

Science: Land insects were before flying insects.

As one assesses the comparisons above, it is obvious there are clear contradictions in classification. One example is God classifies bats with the birds and flying creatures. Unlike man who classifies bats with mammals. Read Leviticus 11:13-19 ‘These, moreover, you shall detest among the birds; they are abhorrent, not to be eaten: the eagle and the vulture and the buzzard, and the kite and the falcon in its kind, every raven in its kind, and the ostrich and the owl and the sea gull and the hawk in its kind, and the little owl and the cormorant and the great owl, and the white owl and the pelican and the carrion vulture, and the stork, the heron in its kinds, and the hoopoe, and the bat. Look what is included at the long list of all these birds. God considers the bat as a bird.

In the Genesis verse above, look at the word “teem” or “sharats” in the Hebrew. It means to teem, swarm, or multiply according to Strong’s Concordance. Look at the word “swarms” or “sherets” in the Hebrew. It means teeming or swarming things. The idea is that sea life was created with great abundance. The same idea of abundance is communicated in regards to bird life. The text is noted with a “polel” verb form in the Hebrew describing the “flying” activity of the birds. It indicates a swarming flight.

Darwin himself in his 1859 book The Origin of the Species did not actually address how species originated. The creation of species he later called an “abominable mystery.” Yet science holds this man’s views as the foundation of their work and world view.

God created the world in His order. God’s order is not the same as science. Isaiah 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

Genesis 1:16-19 Here Comes the Sun

Genesis 1:16-19 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Notice the repetition of the purpose of these two lights. The greater light is to govern the day. This is restated two times in the verses above. The lesser light is to govern the night. This is restated two times in the verses above. According to Strong’s Concordance, the idea and definition of “govern” is as follows. The Hebrew word is “memshalah”. It means: rule, dominion, realm, domain.

The sun and the moon are to provide light on the earth as noted in the verses above. This is a restatement of Genesis 1:15 “and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

The sun and the moon are to separate light from dark as noted in the verses above. This is a restatement of Genesis 1:14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night…

The Psalmist confirms these concepts and purposes of the sun and moon in Psalm 136:8-9 The sun to rule by day, for His lovingkindness is everlasting, the moon and stars to rule by night, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.

God is very clear about the intent and purpose of the creation of these heavenly bodies.

Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.

As of 2010, Universe Today and European Space Agency have attempted to estimate the number of stars in the universe. The Milky Way Galaxy has approximately 200 billion stars. The average galaxy contains between 1011 and 1012 stars. Astronomers estimate there are approximately 100 billion to 1 trillion (10% variance at best) galaxies in the universe. When the number of galaxies is multiplied by the number of stars per galaxy, you get between 1022 and 1024 stars in the universe. Remember, this is the best estimate of man based on what he can observe. There are likely more.

Consider Isaiah 40:26 from a semantic perspective. Various linguistic estimates account for one million words in the English language. Think of the vocabulary of God to name ALL of these stars. All stars are accounted and personally named. Our vocabulary is ridiculously limited in comparison. This number of stars created and noted makes Matthew 10:30 a walk in the park from a counting perspective.

Matthew 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. –Jesus

All of this is “good” or “towb” in the Hebrew. It is defined in Strong’s Concordance as: good, pleasant, agreeable (to the senses); pleasant (to the higher nature); rich, valuable in estimation; appropriate, becoming.

We should know the drill, the evening is the start of the day. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Genesis 1:14-15 Lights

Genesis 1:14-15 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Here we go again, another day and another difference in how God created and man postulates over the creation. The Big Bang says an explosion took place approximately 15 billion years ago. Biblical genealogies back to Adam calculate the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

Science says the sun was present before the earth. God spoke the earth into existence on the first day and the sun was created on the fourth day.

Science says that the sun was present before other light on the earth. God says there was light which was created on day one other than the sun. This light separated day from night.

Science says the stars were before the earth. God says the stars were created on day four after the creation of the earth on day one.

Science says that the earth was created at the same time as the other planets. God says the earth was created first and the other planets were created later on day four. Observations and distinctions are from www.answersingenesis.org .

God does draw a distinction from the “light” created on day one and “lights” created on day four. The following is an excerpt from Dr. Henry Morris’ Defender Bible, www.icr.org

On the first day, God had said: “Let there be light” (Hebrew or). Now He says: “Let there be lights” (ma-or). Light energy was activated first, but now great masses of material (part of the “earth” elements created on the first day) were gathered together in one of the firmaments, or spaces, of the cosmos–the space beyond the waters above the space adjacent to the earth. These great bodies were set burning in complex chemical and nuclear reactions, to serve henceforth as “light-givers” for the earth.

Dr. Morris, www.icr.org , also has this observation regarding the “seasons”.

The establishment of “seasons” (and these were not simply religious seasons, but actual climatological seasons) indicates that the earth was formed with an axial inclination from the beginning, for this is the basic cause of its seasons.

God’s word is radically different than the opinion and imagination of man. Isaiah 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

Genesis 1:11-13 Point of View Applied

Genesis 1:11-13 Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

What happens when modern science fails to make sense? What happens when modern science’s view of the world does not agree with physical evidence? There are many of these instances. The point is not to tell any one what to think, but to investigate and analyze. Science has real issues of credibility when it comes to a creation explanation and their time line.

The concept chosen to illustrate the point is a flowering orchid plant. Evolutionary science would tell us that life started in the oceans. Plants came to be on the land from green algae that evolved and adapted from the ocean. The first fossils of plants were noted approximately 400 million years ago. Seed plants evolved from ferns. At this point, there appears to be some debate among the science community. According to evolution, the age of flowering plants is from 26-112 million years old. Now that is not very specific and this variance is by and large accepted as fact. Does any one else find that curious? This is what is taught in text books.

Specifically, a mass of orchid pollen was found on the back of an extinct bee in a fossil. Upon further investigation, the orchid pollen in the fossil (allegedly 15-20 million years old) tested could be found in modern day orchids. The questions beg to be asked. How come these orchids have not evolved with other life? 15-20 million years and orchids have not changed? They existed then as they are today? Darwin himself in his 1859 book The Origin of the Species did not actually address how species originated. The creation of species he later called an “abominable mystery.”

In 1993, Colin Patterson of the prestigious British Museum of Natural History also admitted the origin of the angiosperms (flowering plants) remained an “abominable mystery”. The origin of species was not understood to Charles Darwin and not much has changed with modern science. This is a classic example of science being a belief system or a religion. It has to do with one’s view of the world. To make the claim of “fact” on the origin of species because of assumptions with a loose and flexible timeline is an incredible leap of faith.

This example makes sense through the prism of the Biblical account of creation. Life was created on land first and not in the water. Plants were created mature and fully functional on Day 3. Insects were created on Day 6. With a three day gap, plants can survive until insects arrive for pollination. The orchid pollen and flower has not changed from the fossil to today because they continue to reproduce “after their kind”.  Fossils were left due to a flood event. There is no evolution or transitional species in the fossil record. The age of the earth is 6,000 to 10,000 years old and not billions of years old.

Based on the observable data in this scenario, what makes more sense?
