January 26, 2020: Here is the latest update regarding the spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus. Numbers and data are rapidly changing.

  • 17 Chinese cities quarantined
  • 54,000,000 quarantined
  • 80+ deaths
  • Countries affected: Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, France, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, South Korea, Macao, Nepal, and United States
  • 2,700+ cases confirmed by Chinese Government
  • 30,000+ in China currently being monitored
  • 5 confirmed cases in the United States (Arizona, Illinois, Washington, California)
  • Unconfirmed private reports from Chinese healthcare providers and medical experts estimate 90,000-100,000 infected
  • World Health Organization (WHO) has not declared global health emergency
  • WHO Director to travel and meet with officials in Beijing, China

Our current generation is definitely living in a time of people running to and fro. Humanity is able to quickly travel from continent to continent with airplanes. We can get from region to region by train, bus, and car.

Another translation for “increase” is multiply per Strong’s Concordance. Knowledge has and continues to multiply, but that does not mean mankind uses new found information wisely or skillfully.

We are watching firsthand how infection can rapidly spread around the globe.

So the big question remains… Is now the time of the end???

Wuhan Coronavirus Spreading Across Asia, January 2020

January 22, 2020: The Chinese government has quarantined the entire city of Wuhan, China. Wuhan is a city of 11,000,000 people located about 400 miles west of Shanghai. According to Chinese health officials, 540 people have become infected and 17 have died.

This does make one wonder. Why quarantine an entire city of 11 million if only 540 have been infected? The military and law enforcement logistics required to block off a city of this size is a significant civil undertaking. This would be the equivalent of closing off New York City. What are Chinese officials not telling the rest of the world?

Coronavirus is an airborne virus spread in a similar way to colds and the flu. The virus attacks the respiratory system causing lung lesions.

Symptoms include: runny nose, headache, cough, fever, shortness of breath, chills and body aches.

It is incredibly contagious and is spread through contact with anything the virus is on as well as infected breath, coughs or sneezes.

In most cases, you won’t know whether you have a coronavirus or a different cold-causing virus, such as rhinovirus.

If coronavirus spreads into the lower respiratory tract, it can cause pneumonia in older people. Other populations include those with heart disease or weakened immune systems.

Currently, there is no vaccine for coronavirus.
