Straight Talk…The Carpenter, Rodna Epley

RodnaToday I was thinking of the irony that wood and nails, the tools which Jesus used in His trade as a Carpenter, were the same tools that fastened Him to the cross as He died for our sins through crucifixion. So then, the very thing that Jesus gave new purpose or life to, so to speak, was also the thing that aided in taking His Life in the end.

Or so it seemed…! Because the One who hung on that cross was way more than just a Carpenter. He was the Lamb of God, the Eternal Son of God, the everlasting Word of God, who also held the power of life and death in His hands. Which He claimed to have, and proved to have, when He was raised from the dead 3 days later – when the corruptible put on incorruptible and mortality put on immortality. Now the Master Carpenter builds for us an eternal home. For all of us who our faith in Him, repent, pick up our crosses daily, obey His teachings, and follow Him wherever He will lead us…

Therefore God in His infinite wisdom, turned this ironic death into yet more irony. A much more glorious irony, through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, by which all of us can receive eternal life.

“Jesus said…I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;” – John 11:20

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” – Genesis 50:20

“Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” – John 2:19

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and obeys them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house on a rock:” – Matthew 7:24

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 2:38

Trend Update: UNESCO Secret Vote & Tomb of the Patriarchs, July 2017

Genesis 50:13 for his sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field at Machpelah, to the east of Mamre, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite to possess as a burying place.

This is one of many references for the burial place of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The wives of the patriarchs were buried here as well. That includes Sarah, Rebekah, and Leah. The reference in Genesis 50 is to Jacob.

Abraham originally purchased the plot of land with silver.

Genesis 23:16-17 Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver that he had named in the hearing of the Hittites, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weights current among the merchants. So the field of Ephron in Machpelah, which was to the east of Mamre, the field with the cave that was in it and all the trees that were in the field, throughout its whole area, was made over…

Genesis 23:19 After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah east of Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

Machpelah is Hebron in the book of Genesis. And roughly 4,000 years later, the location is still Hebron in the 21st century. Hebron is located in the West Bank south of Jerusalem approximately 20 miles. Hebron is the largest Palestinian city with a population of 200,000.

Friday, July 07, 2017: Under the cloak of darkness, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held a secret vote in Krakow, Poland. The World Heritage Committee introduced the secret Hebron Solution at the request of three member states.

z14830455V,Instalacja-z-okazji-nadania-Krakowowi-tytulu-miastUNESCO voted the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Hebron’s Old City as a Palestinian World Heritage Site. Jews refer to the site as the Jewish Tomb of the Patriarchs. Muslims call the location the Ibrahimi Mosque. The location was also deemed an “endangered Palestinian site” by UNESCO.

The vote went down as follows. Twelve nations voted in favor, three opposed, and six abstained. As far as what countries voted and how they voted, that information is not available.

The following countries are members of the World Heritage Committee per the UNESCO website: Angola, Azerbaijan, Burkino Faso, Croatia, Cuba, Finland, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, Tanzania, Viet Nam, and Zimbabwe.

“Today, Palestine and the world, through UNESCO, celebrate Hebron as part of world heritage, a value that transcends geography, religion, politics, and ideology. This vote celebrated facts and rejected the shameless high-profile political bullying and attempts at extortion.” -Palestinian Foreign Ministry

After the UNESCO vote, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut $1 million dollars to UNESCO funding.

“In the face of UNESCO’s denial, the prime minister is determined to present to the whole world the historical truth and the thousands of years of deep Jewish roots in Hebron.” -Netanyahu Spokesman

Jacob was buried with his fathers at this location in Hebron. Jacob wrestled with God for an evening and had a life altering experience.

Genesis 32:28 Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

UNESCO, by the way…Jacob…Israel…same thing.

Trend Update: Joseph’s Tomb, October 2015

Posted in Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on October 21, 2015 by paulthepoke

Genesis 50:25-26 Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here.” So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.

Joseph died and was buried in Egypt. It would be at least 480 years before Joseph’s body would reach its final resting place in Israel as prophesied by God.

There came a time when leadership in Egypt had forgotten Joseph. Exodus 1:8 Now a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.

Israel was in Egypt 430 years. Exodus 12:40-41 Now the time that the sons of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And at the end of four hundred and thirty years, to the very day, all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

400 of those years, Israel was under bondage. God told Abram in Genesis 15:3 as prophecy, Israel would suffer as slaves in a foreign land for 400 years. The book of Exodus provides the history. This is verified in the New Testament book of Acts 7:6-7.

Following the Exodus out of Egypt, Israel wondered in the desert for 40 years. Joshua 5:6 For the people of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished, because they did not obey the voice of the LORD; the LORD swore to them that he would not let them see the land that the LORD had sworn to their fathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey. See also Numbers 32:13.

Upon entering the Promised Land, it took 7-15 years for God’s chosen people to conquer and settle (Joshua).

In the last chapter of Joshua, God gives Israel a history lesson from their beginning to the current time.

When Israel left Egypt, they took Joseph’s body with them.

Joshua 24:32 Now they buried the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up from Egypt, at Shechem, in the piece of ground which Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for one hundred pieces of money; and they became the inheritance of Joseph’s sons…

Modern day Nablus is the town located on the site of ancient Shechem. This town is located in the heart of the disputed northern West Bank. It is located straight north of Jerusalem approximately 30 miles. It is located halfway between Jerusalem and Nazareth.

The dating of the Book of Joshua is approximately 1400 BC (Nelson Book of Bible Maps and Charts). Joseph has rested at his current site in modern day Nablus for approximately 3,400 years.

During a proclaimed Day of Rage, Palestinians set fire to the historical complex of Joseph’s tomb (October 16, 2015).

There are people who desperately want to erase this reality and history.
