Rather we mean to or not, most of us fail when it comes to gossip & rumors. But some thrive on it sadly. They think they can’t be happy unless they are trying to hurt others. The truth is they are miserable & want others miserable too. If they are gossiping to you about others, most likely they are gossiping about you to others as well. Avoid gossip & those that love to gossip. Untruth can destroy people. Misery loves company.

Proverbs 20:19 Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with a simple babbler.

Sadly, there will be those that want hurt you & destroy your reputation. It could be out of jealousy, bitterness, hatred, or whatever reason. For lack of a better word, it sucks. But not everybody will be on your side or a true friend. Not much you can do about it except avoid people like this & not let them get to you. There are a lot of people that like to spread rumors. My guess it is to make themselves feel better about their crappy lives. You can bet that if a person is talking crap about others to you, they are most likely talking crap to others about you as well. If you don’t know facts, keep your mouth shut. It will come back to bite you.
