Angels: Existing in Numbers

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Angels with tags , , , on July 7, 2019 by paulthepoke

The Bible repeatedly teaches the existence of angels. It is assumed as a matter of fact that angels exist. For the atheist and critic who demand proof, they will never be satisfied. Atheists turn to themselves and their sense of reason and logic for answers. God’s word as source will never be good enough for some.

Hebrews 1:6-7 And again, when God brings His firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all God’s angels worship Him.” Of the angels He says, “He makes His angels winds, and His ministers a flame of fire.”

Angels have been observed from the beginning of the earth. Angels were noted to protect the garden after the fall of man.

Genesis 3:24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

Jesus knew angels existed. He created them. Christ explained that He had angels at His disposal if He called on the Father. The context of the comments to a Roman soldier had to be overwhelming. A Roman legion was estimated to be about 5,000 soldiers. Jesus was claiming He could have about 60,000 angels at His word with destructive and formidable Heavenly force. Jesus knew He could avoid arrest and ultimately death. The Godhead was in absolute control of the situation in the Garden of Gethsemane. Yet, He submitted Himself to arrest and ultimately death on a cross.

Matthew 26:53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and He will at once send Me more than twelve legions of angels?

The number of angels is innumerable. In the Greek, the word is μυριάς/murias. We get the English word “myriad” from the Greek term. It literally means 10,000. In the verse below, the word is plural. So there are 10,000’s upon 10,000’s. The number of angels cannot be counted.

Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels…

Elisha communicates the same idea to a follower in 2 Kings. When the veil is pulled back, the number is overwhelming.

2 Kings 6:16-17 He (Elisha) said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Angels will ultimately be dispatched by Christ to the Earth to clean house in preparation for the kingdom.

Matthew 13:41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness…

Neck Bones and Taters… Christine McDonald

There was an older black woman who lived off Prospect, and every year around the holidays she would holler at me. She called me “Blondie.” She had a large bowl of neck bones and taters with amazing tiny peppers. The peppers weren’t hot, just spicy enough for flavor.

She’d always tell me, “Now, honey, you can keep that bowl, but don’t you be leaving it out just anywhere. If you can make it back this way, just leave it on the steps. If not, then at least find it a home in a trashcan. You eat all of that, honey, ’cause you ain’t nothing but skin and bones, a walking skeleton. I say now, go on now and eat all of that, and God bless you.”

Those neck bones and taters were amazing. Year after year, she never forgot me. Once she even walked down the street about two blocks from her house because she said one of her boys had seen me out there. She always reminded me to eat every bit because I was just skin and bones. She always offered me a warm smile. She always made a point to touch my hand and look me in the eyes when she spoke to me.

One year she put $5 in my hand and kissed my cheek. Another year she tossed me a pair of gloves and an old jacket and cautioned me not to catch a cold. She even told me I had a lovely smile. I never knew her name, and she never asked mine, but I did feel human each time I heard her voice. I wasn’t invisible to her.

In the wee hours of many nights, doubtful thoughts would drift through my mind, tormenting me for a while. Would someone eventually find me? Did anyone even know I was alive? Would someone look for me if I were dead?

Everyone else who offered me food or other such necessities had strings attached—I could have it if I provided sexual services for them. After all, I was a prostitute, and my purpose in life was for their pleasure.

My neck bone and tater patroness, however, never forgot me and never asked for anything from me. When she saw me, she simply acknowledged my humanity. I always felt that, for some reason, she loved me just as I was. Somehow, this woman, if only once or twice a year, gave me just enough hope and genuine compassionate care to keep me going. Her gentle concern ignited small embers of hope and made me question if there might be more to my life, after all.

From time to time I would wonder: Did she watch for me so she could speak to me or bring me food? Was she the one person in her home, with her family, who truly knew I existed? Did she ever wonder about me? Did she wonder if I were cold or hungry or alive or dead? It seemed like she thought of me. Maybe I did exist. Maybe she alone had the ability to see my invisibility.

Mexico Hail Storm, July 2019

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Prophecy, Trend Update with tags , , on July 2, 2019 by paulthepoke

Guadalajara, Mexico: Up to five feet of hail were dropped over night on the Mexican city during a recent storm. The city is home to five million residents. Guadalajara is located north of Mexico City. The city’s elevation is approximately 5,100 feet above sea level.

Revelation 16:21 And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

In the original Greek, the weight of the hailstone is a talent.

ταλαντιαῖος (talantiaios)– A talent of silver: approximately 100 pounds.

100 Pound Hail?

•1 gallon of water = 8.35 pounds

•100 pounds of water = approximately 12 gallons

•12 gallons = 1.6 cubic feet = 18” sphere (approximate)

Hail and Updraft

•Pea  24 mph

•Nickel  46 mph

•Golf Ball  64 mph

•Baseball  81 mph

•Softball  103 mph

Largest Hail in United States (Nebraska) 5” across

Largest Hail in World (Middle East) 10” across

The event above described in Revelation 16 is during the last third of tribulation judgments. The context is the bowl judgments. The event that occurred in Mexico is not a fulfillment of Revelation 16.

Granted, these were not 100 pound hailstones observed in Mexico. The weather event in Mexico demonstrates there is clearly enough water for the volume of hail described in Revelation 16.

As of July 2019, We are not in the tribulation. The context of the tribulation is global. When the seven year tribulation rolls around, one will not have to ask the question, “Are we there yet?”

Job 38:22-23 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?
