Children are a gift & we are responsible for providing for them. They didn’t ask for this life, so we should put them first. Make them feel wanted & important, because they are. Give them the love & tools to needed to lead a good & happy life.
Be the parent that you want your kids to be. Be the friend that you want to have. Be the change that you want to see. Be the love that you want to receive. Lead by example. Sew what you want back.

I get a lot of praise for being a single dad & it does make me feel good, but why don’t single mothers get a lot of praise? It’s like it’s expected of them so it’s not a big deal. It really is a big deal because it isn’t easy. I couldn’t do it without help.
Last school year my cousin worked where Aria went to school thankfully & was able to take Aria with him when I couldn’t be there to pick her up on time. He took her to my parents who are priceless for us. Other times, friends would keep Aria for me till I got home. Those two gals are golden!
The thing is, kids don’t ask to be brought into this world so all parents need to make life good for them. I do appreciate the praise, but I’m doing just what I’m supposed to do. Don’t take single moms for granted, they are pretty badass!
The new moon has been sighted and confirmed by a couple of different groups in the land of Israel. Trained spotters from the Israeli Moon Society and the website http://whenisthenewmoon.com/ are in agreement. The new moon was spotted on the evening of August 9, 2021 on our western Gregorian calendar.
But there is disagreement with the month. The Israeli Moon Society says it is the beginning of the month of Elul.
The Temple Institute relies on the Israeli Moon Society. Secular Hebrew calendars and our western Gregorian calendars proclaim the month to be Elul.
Imagine that, humanity disagrees on how to tell time as God has directed. Personally, I don’t know who is right. I will defer to God …But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.-Matthew 24:36
Elul is the last month of the civic calendar in Judaism. Elul is the sixth month of the religious calendar. Jewish tradition points to the name of the month to be an acronym of “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li” a quote from Song of Songs 6:3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine…
In Aramaic, the vernacular of the Jewish people at the time that the month names were adopted), the word Elul means “search”. Per Strong’s Concordance, Elul means “nothingness” in the Hebrew. The month is mentioned one time in the Bible.
Nehemiah 6:15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of the month Elul, in fifty-two days.
The month of Elul initiates a 40 day period called Teshuvah. The point of the season is to prepare for the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah and the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.
It is a time to return toward God. People are called to turn away from their sin, repent, and change course. It is a time of inward reflection and sincere self-assessment. The goal is a change in lifestyle away from sin to obedience in God’s word. The 40 day period starts on Elul 1 and ends on Tishri 10, Yom Kippur.

There are many examples of the significance of the number 40 in the Bible. Notice, the examples ultimately demonstrate a turning away from sin and a return to God’s word. The result is a changed mind, a lifestyle consistent with obedience to God.
On three occasions, Moses went up to Mount Sinai for 40 days and met with the LORD. Israel had worshipped a golden calf and committed idolatry against God (Exodus 32). Moses pleaded with God for mercy against His chosen people. He turned to God and instructed the people of Israel to turn from their sin. The golden calf was destroyed (Exodus 32:20). After the destruction of the golden calf, Jewish tradition has Moses ascending Mount Sinai on Elul 1 to Tishri 10 (Yom Kippur) to receive a second set of tablets. With a lack of faith in God, Israel was left to wander in the desert for 40 years. God told them He would help them take the Promised Land. Only two men believed, Caleb and Joshua (Numbers 32:12). The others did not turn and trust God.
Numbers 32:13 So the LORD’S anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the LORD was destroyed.
It was considered “evil” to not believe God. When this came to pass and the last one died. God brought His people back to the land for the taking. 40 years later, the Jewish people returned to God and His word. Course of nation Israel had changed. The Law, God’s word, was reintroduced to the people before they entered the Promised Land (Deuteronomy).

Noah and his family were in the ark for 40 days and 40 nights during the rain and flood. The world was being judged for sin. The corruption of mankind is described in Genesis 6. Noah and his family had 40 days and nights to contemplate their watery environment as a consequence. They turned and responded to God. Their lives were spared in the ark. They had nowhere to go and plenty of personal time for self-reflection.

Jesus was tempted by Satan for 40 days in the desert (Matthew 4:1-11). Every time Jesus was tempted by Satan, He turned to God the Father and quoted Deuteronomy. Jesus’ responses to temptation were to turn to the word of God (Matthew 4:4), to not put the Lord your God to the test (Matthew 4:7), and to worship and serve the Lord you God only (Matthew 4:10). Jesus resisted the tempter and was obedient to His Father.

The city of Jerusalem has been rebuilt post exile. These events are covered in Nehemiah 8-13. Israel is returning to God’s Law. The focus is on God’s appointed holidays. This week, the Feast of Trumpets or Yom Teruah is the topic. Many know the day as Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish civil New Year. This is the last of three posts on the initial Fall Feast.
God operates on a lunar calendar. Jews have utilized the following procedure every month for thousands of years. It is called Rosh Chodesh which means “head of the month”. At the end of a lunar cycle, the moon is dark and is not seen for 2-3 days. So, the new moon could be identified during this 2-3 day period …of that day or hour no one knows…
By God’s standards, determining the new moon is not a mathematical calculation as we do today.
By His definition, a new moon is proclaimed when the first little sliver emerges from a darkened moon. It is a tiny crescent that is noted briefly at sunset on the western horizon. The month begins at the sighting of the new moon. Two witnesses have to confirm the sighting. Upon agreement, the two witnesses report to the high priest. When the new moon is confirmed, the trumpet (shofar/ram’s horn) is blown.
It is not hard to see how humanity’s time keeping system is different than God’s. It is easy to see how the concept of time is likely different and not on the same page. God marks time from month to month on a lunar calendar.
There are people who are trained witnesses to identify the new moon. They are outside of Jerusalem when the moon goes dark and they are looking for the tiny sliver to emerge. If you are interested, see this website. http://whenisthenewmoon.com/
Why two witnesses? This concept is part of Jewish law.
Deuteronomy 19:15-21 A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed. If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing, then both the men who have the dispute shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days. The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely, then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you. The rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you. Thus you shall not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
In the future, God will have two people bear witness to the world that humanity is sinful. With these two witnesses, He is establishing a legal declaration of evidence. If God is wrong and lying about humanity, He would bring judgment accordingly upon Himself per the law stated above.
Revelation 11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
Two or more witnesses to the new moon are legally establishing as fact per the law. It is about truth, character, morality and verification before God, not math.
You can know the holiday …of that day or hour no one knows… only the Father knows when the new moon is official and the holiday begins.
As of July 30, 2021… Wild fires have broken out across Turkey. There are over 100 wild fires in 30 plus cities and they continue to spread.

These events coincided with the finding of the ancient gateway to the temple of Zeus. Archeologists have vowed to rebuild and refurbish the structure as ancient worshippers experienced the temple. This would essentially allow the reinstitution of Zeus worship as the ancients practiced.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan’s response is being called into question. Erdogan has refused help from Greece. Instead he turned to his prophetic friends as documented by Ezekiel in chapters 38 and 39, Russia and Iran. Qatar was also contacted for help.
In light of Exodus 20 and the 10 Commandments…
Exodus 20:3-6 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love Me and keep My Commandments.”
Does God really exist? Which god is the real God? Is Zeus real and is Zeus God? Would the God of the Bible really respond in jealousy to a violation of His Commandments? Does any of this really matter? Or is it all coincidental?

On July 29th, 2021, a suicide drone attacked an Israeli owned ship the Mercer Street. The attack occurred off of the coast of Oman. The oil tanker was empty. The ship was able to make it to safety with a United States Naval escort.
Various reports indicate the Shahed 136 Drone is the vehicle utilized for the attack.
Israel, along with the United Kingdom and the United States, is convinced Iran is responsible for the attack on the Mercer Street vessel. Israeli Prime Minister Bennett’s comments are noted in the tweet below. His video comments are a little over one minute and worth every second. I don’t understand Hebrew, but I do understand tone and body language. Based on Bennett’s history of a no nonsense approach to the enemies of Israel, I suspect Prime Minister Bennett means business.

The government of the United Kingdom held a special Cobra Meeting per a report from Sky News. A Cobra Meeting is held in only “serious focus” of an issue.
UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab blamed Iran and stated the event as “deliberate, targeted” assault which constituted “a clear violation of international law”.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson indicated Iran will “face up to the consequences”.
Johnson was also quoted, “This was clearly an unacceptable and outrageous attack on commercial shipping, a UK national died.”
United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has weighed in on the events. He is confident Iran is responsible for the attack.
“We are in very close contact, in coordination, with the United Kingdom, Israel, Romania and other countries. And there will be a collective response. We have seen a series of actions taken by Iran over many months, including against shipping, so I’m not sure that this particular action is anything new or augurs anything one way or another for the new government. But what it does say is that Iran continues to act with tremendous irresponsibility.” -US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
As of Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Iran will be swearing in their new president Ebrahim Raisi. He is known as the Tehran Butcher. The name was earned as thousands of political prisoners died at the decisions of the “death committee” which he was the leader. Human rights organizations have charged Raisi with “war crimes against humanity.”
Raisi is a fundamental, conservative Shia hardliner. Previously, he was the chief justice of the Iranian judicial system.

Leviticus 23:23-25 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’”
Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

The shofar is blown 100 times on the Feast of Trumpets. There are three different sounds (Tekiah, Shevarim, Teruah). Each is blown three times for a total of 9 blasts. This pattern is completed 11 times for a total of 99 blasts. The last blast is set aside. It is the longest and loudest. It is known as the “Last Trump”. This holiday has many different names. Some of the names are listed below. Jewish tradition has Rosh Hashanah as the birthday of the world and the head of years.
It is known as the “Coronation of Messiah”. Traditionally, kings of Israel have been appointed on Yom Teruah. King David was coronated on this new moon holiday. Israel’s Messiah comes from the lineage of King David.
Psalm 47 O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to God with the voice of joy. For the Lord Most High is to be feared, a great King over all the earth. He subdues peoples under us and nations under our feet. He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom He loves. Selah.
God has ascended with a shout, the Lord, with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a skillful psalm. God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne. It is known as the “Hidden Day”. Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth who have carried out His ordinances; seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the LORD’S anger.

It is known as the “Wedding of the Messiah”. Joel 2:15-16 Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants.
