The following is from Brother Mark Harris of https://whenisthenewmoon.com/

Hello To All The Brethren Worldwide!

The New Moon was sighted this evening in Israel, Tuesday, September 27th, 2022! The Fall Feast Season has begun! That means Yom Teruah/The Feast of Trumpets/First Day of the 7th Month is upon us!

Therefore the first day of the Seventh Month starts Tonight (Tuesday) September 27th, evening at sundown, and goes through (Wednesday) September, 28th.

Sighted By: Chris Guenther, Tchiya Jenkins, followed by three others.

Date Sighted: Tuesday, September 27th, 2022!

Biblical Hebrew Month: This is the Seventh Biblical Hebrew Month, also known as Tishrei.

Look toward the western sky this evening and see if you can see the New Moon!

Here are the Dates on which we will be celebrating Yah’s Appointed Feasts (Leviticus 23) this year, 2022.

Yom Teruah/The Feast of Trumpets/First Day of the 7th Month  –  Wednesday, September 28th
(Starting the night before on the 27th, New Moon Sited in Israel, and worldwide, on Tuesday, Sept 27th)

Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement/10th Day of the 7th Month  –  Friday, October 7th
(Starting the night before on October 6th)

Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles/15th Day of the 7th Month  –  Wednesday, October 12th
(Starting the night before on October 11th)

Shabbat During Feast  –  Saturday, October 15th
(Starting the night before on October 14th)

Last Great Day  –  Wednesday, October 19th
(Starting the night before on October 18th)

A few things to remember…

Every 7 years, Yah has ordained a year of release called the Shemitah (Leviticus 25).
This is it! The Shemitah!

And, as it says in Deuteronomy 31, We’ll be reading the whole Torah at the Feast!

Deuteronomy 31:9-13 So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles, when all Israel comes to appear before YHWH your Elohim in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear YHWH your Elohim and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear YHWH your Elohim as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.”

We should gather together men, women, and children to read the Book of the Law together in its entirety! What are we to learn from reading it? That we may hear and learn to fear YHWH and obey it!

God’s Calendar, Happy New Year, 5782, Waiting on the New Moon

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Signs: Sun, Moon, Stars..., Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , on March 31, 2022 by paulthepoke

Exodus 12:1-2 Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you…”

The Lord God says the New Year begins in the spring in the Hebrew month of Nisan.

Moses referred to this month as Abib. Exodus 13:4 On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go forth. Per Strong’s Concordance, Abib means: fresh, young barley ears; month of ear-forming, of greening of crop, of growing green; month of Exodus and Passover.

The month is called Nisan in Nehemiah 2:1 And it came about in the month Nisan… It means “their flight”. Israel took “their flight” out of Egypt in Nisan. The meaning of month Nisan is a reminder to Israel. Abib is a reminder to the time of the year, during the first fruits of the barley harvest.

The Jewish calendar is based on three astronomical phenomena. These three are independent of each other.

1) Rotation of the Earth about its axis (a day):

2) Revolution of the moon about the Earth (a month): The average time for the moon to revolve around the Earth is 29.5 days. A pure lunar calendar has a minimum of 354 days in a year.

3) Revolution of the Earth about the sun (a year): The Earth revolves around the sun in about 365¼ days. A pure solar calendar has 12.4 lunar months.

The Jewish calendar coordinates all three of these astronomical phenomena. It is based on moon cycles instead of sun cycles. “Leap months” are added to sync up with sun cycles. Prior to the 4th century, the calendar was determined by observation. The calendar has been calculated mathematically since 4th century. Years are numbered from creation.

A Hebrew Year always contains 12 Hebrew months in a regular year or 13 Hebrew months in a leap year.

https://paulthepoke.com/?s=rosh+chodesh

How is a new moon or a new month determined? In this particular case, we are talking about the New Year. God operates on a lunar calendar. Jews have utilized the following procedure every month for thousands of years. It is called Rosh Chodesh which means “head of the month”. At the end of a lunar cycle, the moon is dark and is not seen for 2-3 days. So, the new moon could be identified during this 2-3 day period …of that day or hour no one knows…

By definition, a new moon is proclaimed when the first little sliver emerges from a darkened moon. It is a tiny crescent that is noted briefly at sunset on the western horizon. The month begins at the sighting of the new moon. Two witnesses have to confirm the sighting. Upon agreement, the two witnesses report to the high priest. When the new moon is confirmed, the trumpet (shofar/ram’s horn) is blown.

Determining a new month by God’s instructions is not a mathematical calculation.

So when will the new moon be identified? This will determine the precise days of the Spring Feasts.

Tonight, two witnesses will begin observing for that little sliver of the new moon…

There Shall Be Seven Weeks: Feasts (Trumpets/Teruah, The Only New Moon Feast)

Daniel 9:25b …there shall be seven weeks…

The context of this series of posts is the course of the Jewish people for the initial 49 years of the 483 year period communicated from the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel. The city of Jerusalem has been rebuilt post exile. These events are covered in Nehemiah 8-13. Israel is returning to God’s Law. The focus is on God’s appointed holidays. This week, the Feast of Trumpets or Yom Teruah is the topic. Many know the day as Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish civil New Year. This is the last of three posts on the initial Fall Feast.

By God’s standards, determining the new moon is not a mathematical calculation as we do today.

By His definition, a new moon is proclaimed when the first little sliver emerges from a darkened moon.

It is not hard to see how humanity’s time keeping system is different than God’s. It is easy to see how the concept of time is likely different and not on the same page. God marks time from month to month on a lunar calendar.

There are people who are trained witnesses to identify the new moon. They are outside of Jerusalem when the moon goes dark and they are looking for the tiny sliver to emerge. If you are interested, see this website. http://whenisthenewmoon.com/

Why two witnesses? This concept is part of Jewish law.

Deuteronomy 19:15-21 A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed. If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing, then both the men who have the dispute shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days. The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely, then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you. The rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you. Thus you shall not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

In the future, God will have two people bear witness to the world that humanity is sinful. With these two witnesses, He is establishing a legal declaration of evidence. If God is wrong and lying about humanity, He would bring judgment accordingly upon Himself per the law stated above.

Revelation 11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Two or more witnesses to the new moon are legally establishing as fact per the law. It is about truth, character, morality and verification before God, not math.

You can know the holiday …of that day or hour no one knows… only the Father knows when the new moon is official and the holiday begins.

There Shall Be Seven Weeks: Monthly Offerings

Daniel 9:25b …there shall be seven weeks…

The context of this series of posts is the course of the Jewish people for the initial 49 years of the 483 year period communicated from the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel. The city of Jerusalem has been rebuilt post exile. These events are covered in Nehemiah 8-13. Israel is returning to God’s Law. The focus is Temple worship service. The Sabbath offering was covered last week. Next, Nehemiah reminds the Jewish people of the Monthly Offering or the New Moons.

New Moons is a phrase and a reminder of a new month. How is a new moon or a new month determined on the Hebrew calendar?

Why two witnesses? This concept is part of Jewish law. See Deuteronomy 19:15-21.

Two or more witnesses to the new moon are legally establishing as fact per the law.

Every new moon the following sacrifices are to take place.

Numbers 28:11-15 At the beginning of every month, you are to present to the LORD a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old, all unblemished, along with three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering with each bull, two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering with the ram, and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering with each lamb. This is a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

The elements of animal sacrifice and bread remain from the daily offering to the Sabbath offering to the monthly offering. All animals are unblemished and one year old. More bread is required for larger animals and the amount of flour decreases from the bull (3/10 ephah) to the ram (2/10 ephah) to the lamb (1/10 ephah). An ephah is roughly one bushel or 8 dry gallons or 35 liters or 8 pounds.

The element of fire, symbolic for judgment remains. Grilled meat and baked bread is a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

Numbers 28:14 Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine with each bull, a third of a hin with the ram, and a quarter hin with each lamb. This is the monthly burnt offering to be made at each new moon throughout the year.

Wine is required with the sacrifice as well. The bigger the animal, more wine is required. The amount of wine for a bull is 1/2 hin, for the ram 1/3 hin, and for the lamb 1/4 hin. The liquid measurement of a hin is roughly 1.5 U.S. gallons or 5.7 liters.

Numbers 28:15 In addition to the regular burnt offering with its drink offering, one male goat is to be presented to the LORD as a sin offering.

Perfect, spotless animals are sacrificed and burned. Symbolically, judgment has been delivered perpetually. Daily, weekly, and monthly examples are provided as a reminder. Bread and wine are served with these sacrifices. These elements represent perfect sacrifices.

And why are the sacrifices offered? Because of the male goat, a symbol for sin.

Christ is the fulfillment! Got Jesus???

Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem, Nisan 1

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Angels, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , on December 5, 2020 by paulthepoke

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.

The angel Gabriel continues with his revelation from God to the prophet Daniel.

Nehemiah 2:1a In the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, I took up the wine and gave it to the king…

This is the date of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem. God’s clock starts on this date. Nehemiah is performing his duty as a cup bearer. Artaxerxes is drinking his wine…

In the month of Nisan… Dating the first part of the time stamp appears to be the easy part. Nisan is the first month on a Hebrew calendar. Nisan means “their flight”. Nehemiah 2:1 is the first time the month is called Nisan in the Bible. The month of Nisan is the beginning of the religious or spiritual year on a Hebrew calendar. The month of Nisan is synonymous with the constellation of the lamb in the Hebrew Mazzaroth.

Exodus 13:4 On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go forth.

Moses referred to this month as Abib. Per Strong’s Concordance, Abib means: fresh, young barley ears; month of ear-forming, of greening of crop, of growing green; month of Exodus and Passover.

Exodus 12:1-2 Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you…”

This is when God proclaims His New Year. It is in the spring time when life emerges from winter.

Many commentators and scholars imply the date as the first of the month. Assuming the first of the month, Jews would have identified a new moon to signify the beginning of a new month. By definition, a new moon is proclaimed when the first little sliver emerges from a darkened moon. It is a tiny crescent that is noted briefly at sunset on the western horizon. The month begins at the sighting of the new moon. Jews have utilized the procedure every month for thousands of years. It is called Rosh Chodesh which means “head of the month”.

Thanks to math of Johannes Kepler and his laws of planetary motion and physics, we are able to calculate the movement of heavenly bodies. Kepler’s math allows us to map the exact location of the sun, moon, planets, and stars in time and space. The heavens are a finely tuned clock which can be run forward and backward. As a result, the dates can be confirmed.

Calculations start from Nisan 1. The ultimate question is the year.

Rosh Chodesh, Head of the Month

The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah/Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets, begins at the sighting of the new moon in a few days.

If this concept was applied today, would society be different? Would people spread lie(s) about other people if they knew the consequence would be the punishment of the lie(s) they were spreading?

In the future, God will have two people bear witness to the world that humanity is sinful. With these two witnesses, He is establishing a legal declaration of evidence. If God is wrong and lying about humanity, He would bring judgment accordingly upon Himself per the law in Deuteronomy 19

Revelation 11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

God’s two witnesses will be falsely accused and put to death.

Revelation 11:11-12 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Truth wins…

It is official. The new moon has been sighted at 6:47 pm Jerusalem, Israel time. Rosh Hashanah declared! Well… maybe. The following is stated by Brother Mark Harris of http://whenisthenewmoon.com/

“Some of you may be keeping this New Moon as the 7th month based on the barley observation this year, and some may be keeping this as the 6th month based on the first New Moon sighted after the Spring began. May you all continue to be blessed as you walk in Obedience to the Creator, and search out the Truth in these matters!”

Time, time, time… sigh… of that day or hour no one knows…

Trend Update: Sanhedrin Recognizes Calendar Error, Happy New Year???

Posted in Sanhedrin, Signs: Sun, Moon, Stars..., Trend Update with tags , , , , , , , , on March 29, 2017 by paulthepoke

Exodus 12:1-2 Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you…”

Nisan 1, 5777 or March 29, 2017: The Sanhedrin has recognized the Hebrew calendar system is inaccurate.  The Sanhedrin reconvened in 2005 after a 1,600 year absence. They oversee legal matters and future construction of the pending third temple.

The Sanhedrin is headed to the Mount of Olives to determine if the New Moon is visible. If so, a new month and a new year can be declared. There is recognition the calendar could be off by a couple of days. Practically, the holiday celebrations could be observed on the wrong day as ordained by God’s Law.

“Even though the calendar needs to be adjusted, unity is of the utmost importance. Jews are required to adhere to the calendar accepted by the entire nation. Until a formal Sanhedrin is accepted by the nation, Jews must use the established calendar and observe the holidays on the days mandated by rabbinic authorities,” Rabbi Hillel Weiss, Sanhedrin Spokesman.

The spring month of Nisan is the beginning of the religious or spiritual year in a Hebrew calendar. The beginning of the civil year is the seventh month of Tishri in the fall. These are the two calendars at work in the Hebrew culture.

The Lord God says the New Year begins in the spring in Nisan.

The month begins at the sighting of the new moon. Two witnesses have to confirm the sighting. Upon agreement, the two witnesses report to the high priest. When the new moon is confirmed, the trumpet (shofar/ram’s horn) is blown.

The Hebraic Roots movement in Israel also identified the new moon north of Jerusalem. There is agreement on the identification of the new moon. I doubt the Sanhedrin will recognize their efforts. After all, they believe in Yeshua or Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

The God appointed fall appointments are the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Below is a brief 10 minute video that provides a framework for God’s fall appointed holidays.

Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

See also Leviticus 23:23-25.

The first fall holiday has many names. It is called the Feast of Trumpets by Christians. It is recognized as the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Some refer to it as the “Hidden Day” or the “Wedding of the Messiah”. In Judaism, it is called Yom Teruah which means the “Day of Blowing”.

It is the beginning of the civil new year. The date for the Yom Teruah is near October 2-3, 2016 (traditional Hebrew calendar) depending on the sighting of the new moon. The new year begins when the new moon is confirmed by two witnesses.

The second fall holiday is the Day of Atonement. See Leviticus 16. Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement is celebrated on Tishri 10th. It is the last day of the 40 day period of Teshuvah. This holiday is viewed at the holiest day of Judaism. The day is a Sabbath day of rest. Yom Kippur is the only day a fast is required. The day begins at sun down. This is the busiest day of the year for the high priest with multiple animal sacrifices. The beginning for the Day of Atonement in 2016 is October 11 at sun down.

Leviticus 23:33-36 Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD. On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.’”

The third and last fall holiday on God’s calendar is Tabernacles. It is also called Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, the Festival of Tents, or the Feast of the Harvest because it was after the harvest in the fall. Simply put, it was also called “the feast” or “the festival”. This festival is a week-long festival from Tishri 15 to 21 on a Hebrew calendar. On our western Gregorian calendar, in 2016, the Feast of Tabernacles will be observed from October 16-23.

There are seven God appointed holidays communicated through the Old Testament Law. The first four were fulfilled to the day by Jesus Himself with His death, burial, resurrection, and the giving of the Holy Spirit. If the first four spring holidays were fulfilled on the God appointed holiday, why would the fall holidays be any different?
