Wishing all the dads out there a Happy Father’s Day. Encouraging all to follow the loving example of our Heavenly Father. Love our children and provide for them. Show them grace, mercy, patience and forgiveness. Teach them the ways of God.

1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.

Luke 6:36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

Ἀββᾶ/abba is the Greek word for Father. HELPS word studies defines the term accordingly: “Father,” also used as the term of tender endearment by a beloved child, i.e. in an affectionate, dependent relationship with their father; “daddy,” “papa.”

The Greek word has its origins in the Aramaic language of Jesus. The term is “ab” or “Father”. Ab is often used in reference to God in Jewish prayers.

Psalm 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Children are a gift from God, an example of His grace and blessing.

Genesis 33:5 And when Esau lifted up his eyes and saw the women and children, he said, “Who are these with you?” Jacob said, “The children whom God has graciously given your servant.”

Family is your first friends you will have. Family will be the lasting friendships you will have. I grew up with cousins my age that I did everything with & love getting to see my kids hanging out with their cousins. They are the ones that will have your back every day. I’m lucky enough to have a huge family on all sides I get to hang out with & call my best friends. Family is love!
