Jubilee, Part 4, Return To Your Land

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Jubilee, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 7, 2021 by paulthepoke

Leviticus 25:13 On this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his own property.

Every 50th year, the people of Israel were to return to their designated tribal land. At the time of receiving the Law, Israel was wondering around in the desert for 40 years.

Eventually, Israel entered the land and controlled with conquest in Joshua 1-12. God divided the land among the tribes of Israel in Joshua 13-24. Geographical and tribal boundaries were defined.

Below is a map of the land as divided per God’s direction in the book of Joshua.

http://www.bibleodyssey.org

Leviticus 25:23 The land, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me.

God says the land is leased to the inhabitants, nation Israel. The tribes do not own the land, God does. The land is granted by God to His chosen nation.

People are temporary and finite. In our current state of fallen humanity, we are not eternal. When we die, we cannot take the land or other possessions with us.

God is very clear in Scripture. The earth is His. God’s ownership is stated from the beginning in Genesis to the New Testament. For starters, He created in Genesis 1.

God’s ownership extends beyond the atmosphere of planet Earth. He owns the universe.

Deuteronomy 10:14 The heavens, indeed the highest heavens, belong to the Lord your God, as does the earth and everything in it.

God transfers authority and possession according to His own choice. But He still owns everything. God chose Israel and gave them a specific, allotted land.

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine…

Jeremiah 27:5 By My great strength and outstretched arm, I made the earth, and the people, and animals on the face of the earth. I give it to anyone I please.

~

God reminds Job that He owns everything. God does not owe anyone a single thing. He is not in debt.

Job 41:11 Who confronted Me, that I should repay him? Everything under heaven belongs to Me.

1 Corinthians 10:26 For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”

God is the landlord. He operates on a 50 year lease with His people Israel and His land. Every fiftieth year, everyone goes back to where they belong according to Him. Debts are forgiven. Everyone gets a fresh start and a clean economic slate.

In the future, He will redefine borders and geography for His chosen people. They will have significantly more land than the current situation of November 2021.

Genesis 15:18-21 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

This is the original land grant from God to Abram (later renamed Abraham by God). These are the land boundaries of Israel’s future.

This configuration has never been realized. This calls for the geography of Israel to stretch from the Nile River to Euphrates River.

One could argue rather this implies the Arabian Peninsula or not. Now this sounds impossible in today’s world and current geopolitical climate. Can you imagine the uproar if this was proposed at the United Nations?

But, there will be a land for peace deal when Jesus returns.

Jude: Peace

Posted in Jude with tags , , , , , , , on October 21, 2018 by paulthepoke

Jude 1:2 May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Peace or εἰρήνη/eiréné in the original Greek…

Strong’s Concordance defines the word as: a state of national tranquility; exemption from the rage and havoc of war.

peace between individuals, that is harmony, concord, security, safety, prosperity, felicity.

of the Messiah’s peace; the way that leads to peace through salvation; of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot; the blessed state of devout and upright men after death.

The term εἰρήνη/eiréné is used 92 times in the New Testament. The Apostle Paul frequently introduced readers of his epistles with a greeting of peace. Below are a couple of examples.

Romans 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The same greeting of peace is noted in the letters of 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, Galatians, Philippians, Colossians, twice to the Thessalonians, Titus, Philemon, and both books of Timothy. Paul makes this point repeatedly as an introduction in his epistles. God (Father, Son, and Spirit) is the source of our peace.

As believers in Christ, we are called to be at peace with others. Seek peace with your fellow man. Do your part. There is nothing one can do about another’s attitudes, beliefs, lifestyle, words, and actions. We are not going to get along with everyone. But as for the individual believer, pursue peace in relationships.

Romans 12:18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Jewish people will use “peace” as a greeting or farewell to others. The term is “shalom” in the Hebrew.

Per Strong’s, shalom is defined as: completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, safety, health, prosperity, quiet, tranquility, contentment, friendship; of human relationships and with God especially in covenant relationship.

Shalom is used 237 times in the Old Testament.

The first time “peace” or “shalom” is used in the Bible is in Genesis 15:15. God was revealing His covenant to Abram regarding his descendants and their future. Part of God’s promise is peace. Abram was in a deep slumber. God was communicating to him in what many might consider a nightmare. The specific reference to Abram was with his future death and burial. God, the author of peace, revealed the concept to humanity in darkness, slavery, oppression, terror, death, and fear. This is how God chose to introduce “peace”.

Genesis 15:15 As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age.

dove gracePeace is like a military guard. Peace crushes rebellions and it protects hearts and minds. Jesus is the answer, embodiment, and fulfillment of peace. In the end, peace wins.

Romans 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Trend Update: Putin Personally Test Fires Satan 2 Missile, October 2017

October 27, 2017: President Vladimir Putin himself was involved in Russia’s most recent military exercise.

“The commander in chief carried out the launch of the four ballistic rockets.” -Putin’s spokesman.

Two nuclear submarines propelled three of the missiles. The fourth missile was fired from Plesetsk. Per the Russian Defense Ministry, “All training targets were successfully hit.” Results are available on YouTube.

Satan 2Of particular note was the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. This was the RS-28 Sarmat nuclear missile. It is also known as the Satan 2 missile. Russia claims the Satan 2 missile can carry 12 nuclear warheads. It can travel at least 3,600 miles. The Defense Ministry states the Satan 2 can destroy entire countries the size of Great Britain and Texas. The ICBM can deliver 40 megatons of nuclear explosives. That would be 2,000 times stronger than the atomic bombs released on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.

Cruise missiles were displayed as part of the drill from Russian bombers.

In Ezekiel 38-39, the prophet Ezekiel calls the leader of Magog by the name “Gog”.

Ezekiel 38:2 Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog…

A Russian news source identifies Scythians as Siberian Russians. Ancient historians consistently equate Scythians with Magog. Modern day Russia = Scythians = Magog per Russians.

Putin GogIs Vladimir Putin the leader “Gog”? That remains to be seen. The news item of note is the personal involvement of President Putin. This aspect of Putin’s character is consistent with Ezekiel’s Gog.

Gog will decide to get personally involved in the future invasion of Israel per the text in Ezekiel. This is a bad decision on Gog’s part. In Israel, Gog will meet his demise. And in Israel, Gog will be buried. His cemetery will be a memorial.

Ezekiel 39:11 On that day I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog.

Many Bible scholars and commentators take this area to be east of the Dead Sea. Currently, this is modern day Jordan. In the future, this land will be part of God’s original land grant to nation Israel.

Genesis 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates…

Trend Update: Land for Peace/Abrahamic Covenant, December 2014

Posted in Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on December 10, 2014 by paulthepoke

Now this sounds impossible in today’s world and geo-political climate. Can you imagine the uproar if this was proposed at the United Nations? But, there will be a land for peace deal when Jesus returns. It will look something like this. Two maps are included as possibilities.

israels_borders_future FutureIsrael

In today’s world (December 2014), there are all kinds of discussion for a two state solution. Israel will achieve peace when they give land to the Palestinians, so the template goes. Turning over the Gaza Strip (2005) to the Palestinians has not resulted in peace. But we move forward any way.

According to Scripture, the division of the land is a foregone conclusion in the book of Joel. Israel’s people were scattered in 70 AD with the diaspora at the hands of the Roman Empire. Israel’s land will be divided. The process has begun with the Gaza Strip. Are we on the verge of seeing this prophecy fulfilled in our time? Joel 3:2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.

The United States, along with the rest of the world, continues to pressure Israel. The concern is building Israeli settlements in West Bank is only adding to the tension. The Obama Administration has even gone to the lengths of considering sanctions on Israel. The consideration reached press outlets on 12/6/14. This policy position is at odds with God’s proclamation in the Abrahamic Covenant. Genesis 12:3 “…And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

This would appear to be bad personal and foreign policy towards God’s chosen people when compared to Genesis 12:3. Incidentally, President Obama went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a sore throat. The President was diagnosed with acid reflux the same day 12/6/14…

Isaiah 10:21-23 Jewish and Gentile Remnants

Posted in Isaiah, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 17, 2013 by paulthepoke

Isaiah 10:21 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.

God always sets aside a group of core believers that is called the remnant. There are examples of the remnant in both the Old and New Testaments. Two examples include 2 Kings 19:31 and Romans 11:4-5. Notice, it is God who achieves and chooses this remnant. There are many examples noted throughout the Bible of God choosing a remnant. The chosen people in this verse is specific and will come from the line of Jacob, nation Israel.

Gibbowr is the Hebrew for “mighty”. It could also be translated strong or brave. Some scholars think this term is Messianic in nature and hints at the return of Christ or their Davidic King (NET Bible).

Isaiah 10:22 For though your people, O Israel, may be like the sand of the sea, only a remnant within them will return; a destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.

The positive is there will be a group of people preserved. The negative is the majority will be judiciously removed. There is a reminder of the promise God made to Abraham imbedded in the verse. The promise to Abraham is noted in Genesis 22:17 …indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.   See also Genesis 15:5.

In Romans 9:27 the Apostle Paul quotes Isaiah 10:22. The context of the passages in Romans is Israel will not be cast away. A remnant of Israel will be preserved. God is not through with nation Israel. Paul’s message is directed to Gentiles Romans 11:13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles…

It is also a reminder to the gentiles that God is saving a remnant of gentiles as well. Romans 11:5 In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. Gentiles are a grafted branch in the place of a natural broken branch (Israel) of the olive tree, God’s family (Romans 11).

Isaiah 10:23 For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, the Lord GOD of hosts will execute in the midst of the whole land.

In Romans 9:28 the Apostle Paul quotes Isaiah 10:23. Judgment will be thorough and swift.

The verses regarding nation Israel were not prophetically fulfilled during the writing of the Apostle Paul and they have not been fulfilled as of November 2013. God has not finished his work with Israel to date. These difficult events are yet to come. A remnant of Israel will be preserved.
