Trend Update: Immigration to Israel/Aliyah, May 2016

Isaiah 11:11-12 In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea. He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Ezekiel 20:34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.

Israel is about to celebrate its 68th birthday. The Central Bureau of Statistics announced Israel has 8.522 million citizens. This is 10 times more than in 1948, the rebirth of the nation. Approximately 75% of the population is Jewish.

In 2014 there were 14.3 million Jews in the world. Forty three percent were estimated to live Israel.

In 1948, Tel Aviv was the only city with over 100,000 people. Today in May of 2016, there are 14 cities over 100,000.

Last year, 36,000 moved to Israel, Aliyah. This is the voluntary immigration back to the land of Israel from the diaspora. Simply stated, Aliyah means ascent.

Amos 9:15 I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the LORD your God.

Trend Update: Land for Peace/Abrahamic Covenant, December 2014

Genesis 15:18-21 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

This is the original land grant from God to Abram (later renamed Abraham by God). These are the land boundaries of Israel’s future. This configuration has never been realized. This calls for the geography of Israel to stretch from the Nile River to Euphrates River. One could argue rather this implies the Arabian Peninsula or not. Now this sounds impossible in today’s world and geo-political climate. Can you imagine the uproar if this was proposed at the United Nations? But, there will be a land for peace deal when Jesus returns. It will look something like this. Two maps are included as possibilities.

In today’s world (December 2014), there are all kinds of discussion for a two state solution. Israel will achieve peace when they give land to the Palestinians, so the template goes. Turning over the Gaza Strip (2005) to the Palestinians has not resulted in peace. But we move forward any way.

According to Scripture, the division of the land is a foregone conclusion in the book of Joel. Israel’s people were scattered in 70 AD with the diaspora at the hands of the Roman Empire. Israel’s land will be divided. The process has begun with the Gaza Strip. Are we on the verge of seeing this prophecy fulfilled in our time? Joel 3:2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.

The United States, along with the rest of the world, continues to pressure Israel. The concern is building Israeli settlements in West Bank is only adding to the tension. The Obama Administration has even gone to the lengths of considering sanctions on Israel. The consideration reached press outlets on 12/6/14. This policy position is at odds with God’s proclamation in the Abrahamic Covenant. Genesis 12:3 “…And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

This would appear to be bad personal and foreign policy towards God’s chosen people when compared to Genesis 12:3. Incidentally, President Obama went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a sore throat. The President was diagnosed with acid reflux the same day 12/6/14…

Isaiah 6:11-13 The Time is Coming…

Isaiah 6:11-13 Then I said, “Lord, how long?” And He answered, “Until cities are devastated and without inhabitant, houses are without people and the land is utterly desolate, “The LORD has removed men far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. “Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, and it will again be subject to burning, like a terebinth or an oak whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.”

Isaiah asks a question with a time marker, “how long?” God replies with a set of circumstances. God does not say when. But He does give the end results.

Many people have the same condition today when asking about the Lord’s return. We all want to know when. God does not tell us when. But He does tell us what will happen along with specific events before Christ’s return.

God is very specific. Cities will be ruined and there will be nobody left. Houses will be devastated, abandoned and there will be nobody left. There will be nobody left in the land. People will be moved from the land of Israel. Four times we are told there will be nobody left. Just in case a few are missed and left over, God will make sure that nobody is left. I take it, nobody will be left.

Historically, that is what happened to the Jewish people. This prophecy was written approximately 100 years or more before their deportation. The Jews were completely exiled to Babylon in approximately 587 BC. The process had started roughly 10 years earlier in 597 BC. Jerusalem and the land were absolutely destroyed. Those who did survive were taken into captivity. See specific details in 2 Chronicles 36:15-21.

The destruction was completely to the ground. God did promise to leave the stump. An oak or a terebinth tree can sprout and grow again if the stump is left in the ground. That stump can regenerate from the noted destruction and death. The nation will be back. Any guess who that “holy seed” or stump is?
