Psalm 90:10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.

The nation of Israel will turn 70 years old on their birthday, May 14, 2018. The Jewish nation was replanted on May 14, 1948. The verse above details the life of Israel since it was reborn. Their time as a country has been nothing but toil and trouble. Their time can also be translated as labor, sorrow, and wickedness. Israel is surrounded by people who want to destroy her and push her into the Mediterranean Sea. Today at 70, Israel has never been stronger. And she is gaining economic and military strength.

Big news making events are scheduled around the week of Israel’s birthday. Here is a list of what’s on tap.

May 12, 2018: President Donald Trump will decide the fate and direction of the Iran Nuclear Deal. The Iranians entered the agreement with six countries (United States, Russia, China, the UK, France and Germany) to monitor their nuclear program and aspirations. For specific details of the program, see the link below.

May 14, 2018: The United States will move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The event recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel to the world. The move has caused an international uproar. President Trump looks to deliver on a campaign promise for this historic day. Israel appreciated the gesture so much, the Sanhedrin has minted a half shekel Temple coin with his likeness on the coin.

May 15, 2018: Nakba Day. The Palestinians refer to Israeli Independence as Nakba Day. Nakba is the Arabic word for “catastrophe”. They acknowledge Nakba Day the day after Israel’s declaration on May 15. Nakba day was initiated on Israel’s 50th Independence Day by Yasser Arafat.

Palestinians traditionally recognize the day with rocks and slingshots, Molotov cocktails, burning tires, IED’s, and violent protests. There may be special plans for this year’s events in light of the significance of Israel’s 70th anniversary and other surrounding events.

Sunset May 19, 2018: God’s appointed Feast of Weeks or Shavuot is scheduled to begin. Christians refer to this day as Pentecost. Shavuot is one of the three holidays where Jewish men are required to come to Jerusalem (Exodus 23:14-17). The men were to make their presentation and sacrifice before God at the Temple.

As stated in the Leviticus passage, it is seven weeks after Passover. It is a celebration of the completed grain harvest. The holiday is also a celebration of God giving the Torah (instruction or law) to nation Israel. Because of this, Shavuot is considered as the beginning or birth of Judaism.

Despite the deadly intentions of their neighbors, settle in. Israel is not going anywhere. The Jewish nation is here to stay.

Amos 9:15 I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the LORD your God.

Happy Independence Day to Israel on its 70th birthday.

US Embassy Move to Jerusalem Set for “This Generation” ???, February 2018

Zechariah 12:2a “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around…

The date has been set. News of the move broke via Twitter.

The United States will move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Israel’s 70th Independence Day. The date is May 14, 2018.

This is 70 years to the date President Harry Truman announced the re-birth of Israel.

May 14, 1948: late morning eastern standard time (late afternoon in Palestine): David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister, reads a “Declaration of Independence,” which proclaims the existence of a Jewish state called Israel beginning on May 15, 1948, at 12:00 midnight Palestine time (6:00 p.m., May 14, 1948, eastern standard time).

May 14, 1948, 6 p.m. eastern standard time (12:00 midnight in Palestine): The British mandate for Palestine expires, and the state of Israel comes into being.

May 14, 1948, 6:11 p.m. eastern standard time: The United States recognizes Israel on a de facto basis. The White House issues the following statement: “This Government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine, and recognition has been requested by the provisional government thereof. The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the State of Israel.”

“We’re planning to open the new US Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem in May. The Embassy opening will coincide with Israel’s 70th anniversary. The Embassy will initially be located in Arnona, on a compound that currently houses the consular operations of Consulate General Jerusalem. At least initially, it will consist of the Ambassador and a small team.” -US State Department

See video link below for geography and additional analysis.

Sheldon Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, is willing to privately pay for the embassy move. The cost is estimated to be $500 million. Adelson is a supporter of the Republican Party. He has also backed both President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel in the past.

The day is typically celebrated with conflict and skirmishes against the Israeli Defense Forces.

As a result, Palestinians have responded in anger and rage. Violence broke out in Gaza and the West Bank.

Saeb Erekat, Senior Palestinian Negotiator made the following statements.

“Determination to violate international law, destroy the two-state solution and provoke the feelings of the Palestinian people as well as of all Arabs, Muslims and Christians around the globe. Trump and his team have disqualified the US from being part of the solution between Israelis and Palestinians; rather, the world now sees that they are part of the problem.”

Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas Official was quoted.

“Moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem is a declaration of war against the Arab and Muslim nation, and the US administration must reconsider its move.”

Some would argue, the time span covered in this post is a Biblical generation.

Psalm 90:10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.

Are we entering a prophetic window of time??? The context is the Olivet Discourse and the end of time scenario. Jesus made this comment.

Matthew 24:33-34 So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

It is ultimately your personal business…But I highly recommend getting right with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, by this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…

Search your heart, think about it…

Time is a precious thing. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring or that it is guaranteed even. One thing is certain, it seems time goes faster & faster the older we get. So use your time wisely. Cherish moments, help others, & make memories. Not just for yourself, but others too.

Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

James 4:14 Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a must that appears for a little time then vanishes.

Have a memory making week my friends!!!

Isaiah 9:6 A Child is Born, Part 2

Posted in Isaiah, Prophecy with tags , , , , on June 29, 2013 by paulthepoke

Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

…and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor…He will be marvelous. Isaiah 28:29 confirms this as well. This also comes from the LORD of hosts, Who has made His counsel wonderful and His wisdom great.

Mighty God… The Hebrew language indicates He is a man, strong and brave. There are military implications in the reference.

Eternal Father…The Hebrew word for eternal is ‘ad. It is defined by Strong’s Concordance as: perpetuity, forever, continuing future, ancient (of past time), forever (of future time), of continuous existence, forever (of God’s existence). God is eternal. Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

…Prince of Peace This title pictures the king as one who establishes a safe socio-economic environment for his people. It hardly depicts Him as a meek individual, for He establishes peace through military strength. His people experience safety and prosperity because their invincible king destroys their enemies (NET Bible). True peace is hard to imagine in today’s world. Think of the qualities of a true peace: completeness (in number), safety, soundness (in body), welfare, health, prosperity, quietness, tranquility, contentment, absence of war, friendship of human relationships, and a covenant relationship with God.

Shalom…
