Gabriel’s Message: For the Time of the End

Daniel 8:17b But he said to me, “Understand, O son of man, that the vision is for the time of the end.”

Gabriel is talking to Daniel while he is prostrate. Gabriel’s point is to reveal understanding and clarity.

Then Gabriel refers to Daniel as a “son of man”. This term has many applications. One, it refers to the humanity of an individual. Translated, it literally means “son of Adam”. Two, God uses this title frequently when addressing the prophet Ezekiel. The term is often associated as a calling card for a prophet. Lastly, Jesus frequently identified Himself as the “son of man”. This phrase is used over 80 times in the New Testament in reference to Christ. The term points to the humanity of Jesus and His office as a prophet.

Gabriel indicates the time point of the vision.

“…the vision is for the time of the end.”

Daniel 8:18 And when he had spoken to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground. But he touched me and made me stand up.

Apparently Daniel was shaken to the point of a “deep sleep” by Gabriel’s approach and words. Daniel had not changed his physical position. He remained prostrate, until Gabriel helped him up off the ground.

Daniel 8:19 He said, “Behold, I will make known to you what shall be at the latter end of the indignation, for it refers to the appointed time of the end.

In Gabriel’s introduction to Daniel, it is stated three times. This vision is about the end.

This time will not be pleasant. The time is translated and described in English as the “indignation”. This word does not do justice for the definition in Hebrew. The word is zaam. Other translations could include angry, rage, or fury. If a person is zaam, they are upset to the point of frothing at the mouth.

Challenging times are coming…

Stand Before… Phil Kulis

Luke 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be COUNTED WORTHY to ESCAPE ALL these things that will come to pass, and to STAND BEFORE the SON OF MAN.

Revelation 7:9-10 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, STANDING BEFORE the throne and before the LAMB, clothed with WHITE ROBES, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “SALVATION belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the LAMB!”

These are the only two places in the entire Bible with the common elements of:
* being counted worthy
* have escaped all
* standing before the Lamb/Son of Man.

The expression “escape all” can equally mean two things. It can mean:
•Not experience everything
AND
•Not experience anything

The multitude in Revelation 7 experiences the first six Seals of the Scroll but do not experience the remainder of the book on earth. They have “escaped all” in that they do not experience everything.

This multitude is the group Jesus was referring to. They
* are considered worthy
* escape all
* are “standing before the Lamb/Son of Man”

It is interesting to note that those hiding in underground bunkers say the exact opposite. They say, “HIDE US from the FACE OF HIM who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and WHO IS ABLE TO STAND?”

They are NOT worthy,
they DON’T escape all these things,
are NOT able to stand before the Lamb.

And its end will come with a flood, Part 2…Featuring Phil Kulis

PhilKulis Pic“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Jesus according to Matthew 24:37-39

So now we have two questions.
1. Where can we find a time that would indicate a flood at the end of the interval between the 69th and the 70th Week?

2. Does that flood indicate the coming of the Son of Man?”

The focus of this post is on the first question.

I believe if we study the Sixth Seal in chapter Six of Revelation, we find a strong evidence for both.

Revelation 6:12-17 “I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and EVERY MOUNTAIN AND ISLAND WAS MOVED OUT OF ITS PLACE. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For THE GREAT DAY of His wrath HAS COME, and who is able to stand?’”

Of the many things happening in this Seal is what appears to be a meteor shower with something happening on the earth large enough to cause “the sky to recede as a scroll.” (Nuclear exchange?) Along with this every mountain and island is moved out of place. Although it doesn’t mention it directly, we can easily infer that this massive global movement (the powers of the heavens shall be shaken) is enough to create many tsunamis that would strike multiple coastlines. Since some of the largest population centers are along the coasts, the losses will be catastrophic. That is the time of the flood at the end of “it”. And satisfies our first question.

Stay tuned for the second question in my next post.

Many prophecy teachers use these words of Jesus to allegorize what is spoken of and say that in the end times we will see a “flood” of evil and wickedness as it was in the time before The Flood of Noah (even though Jesus doesn’t mention evil practices), or perhaps the strange goings-on regarding the DNA corrupting hybridization of humanity with fallen angels may occur again. But it’s the obvious topic of this passage that provides us with some overlooked but vital intelligence about what is going to happen.

Look at it again. Jesus Himself tells us the coming of the Son of Man will occur with a flood. So where else do we have a warning of a flood in the end times? Is there a second witness of scripture to the veracity of this prophecy?

The Prophecy of the 70 Weeks found in Daniel 9:20-27 describes the time leading up to the Messiah, the interval between the Messiah and the final Week, and the final Week itself. Verse 26 describes the things that happen in the interval and it mentions a flood. It says, “the end of it (the interval) shall be with a flood”.

The prophecy in Daniel declares that the end of “it”, the INTERVAL between the 69th and 70th week, ENDS WITH A FLOOD! That is the second witness!
