July 14, 2018: It has been an active day in Israel near the Gaza Strip. Currently, over 200 mortars and missiles have been launched into Israel from Gaza. A neighborhood and synagogue in Sderot have been damaged with injuries. Here is a recap provided by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) via Twitter.

“The Hamas terror group is responsible for everything that goes on in and from the Gaza Strip and it will bear the responsibility for the situation,” IDF Spokesperson.

Trend Update: Kushner Visits the Middle East, June 2018

June 24, 2018: Senior Presidential Adviser Jared Kushner has been traveling around the Middle East. He has been meeting with kings and heads of states in the name of peace.

Kushner recently completed an interview with the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds (this is the Arab name for Jerusalem).

“I am ready to work with President Abbas, if he wishes. You deserve to have a bright future, now is the time for both the Israelis and Palestinians to strengthen their leaderships and re-focus them to encourage them to open up towards a solution, and not fear trying.”

 

“If President Abbas is ready to go back to the negotiations table, then we are ready to participate in the discussion, but if it’s not the case, then we are going to make the plan public.” Senior Presidential Adviser, Jared Kushner

Details of the Trump peace plan are beginning to emerge. East Jerusalem is believed to be designated as the capital of Palestine. Economic incentives for infrastructure are part of the package and plan. The status quo will remain for the religious sites on the Temple Mount.

“They all insist that al-Aqsa Mosque should continue to be open to all Muslims who wish to pray.”

President Trump is reportedly agreeable to a two state plan if both sides support the notion.

Kushner is traveling with President Trump’s Mideast Envoy Jason Greenblatt. Their travels have seen these two in meetings around the Middle East. The focus of the talks is Palestinian-Israeli peace. Stops included a visit with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman.

 

Discussions took place in Qatar with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

A trip to Jordan resulted in talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan.

In Egypt, Kushner met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The latest stop includes meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Ambassador David Friedman.

Trend Update: Tension Mounts in Gaza Strip… Again, June 2018

Ezekiel 25:15-17 Thus says the Lord God, “Because the Philistines have acted in revenge and have taken vengeance with scorn of soul to destroy with everlasting enmity,” therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, even cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the seacoast. I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they will know that I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance on them.”

Ancient Philistia or the Philistines are the people who occupied what is the modern day Gaza Strip. The reference to the Cherethites is thought to be a group of people from the island of Crete. Historically, they relocated to Philistia. At one time, the Cherethites were security for King David of Israel. The name in the Hebrew means “executioners”.

June 20, 2018: Military activity is increasing in and around the Gaza Strip again. Israel has responded to a variety of arson tactics and missiles utilized by terrorists.

Per Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Hamas has fired 45 plus rockets and mortars into Israel. Targets include neighborhoods, private property, and schools. Civilians, not military installations, were targeted.

Israel responded with 3 waves of attacks on Hamas military targets.

Terrorist activity has continued for weeks from the Gaza Strip. Palestinians have attached explosives to different kinds of aerial devices which fly into Israel. The wind from the Mediterranean Sea blows the air born devices into Israel. As a result, fires have destroyed private property and crops.

The term “device” is used loosely. These “devices” include kites, birthday balloons, and condoms. Explosives are attached. In some cases, a metal mesh pouch will hold burning coal or soaked flammable rags. The wind driven “devices” are crudely constructed but effective.

“They are not toys, they are weapons that are intended to kill and inflict damage,” IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus.

A particular curiosity is the use of condoms. Where did they come from? The United Nations World Health Organization denies distributing condoms to the Palestinians… allegedly.

Israel has countered the “devices” from the Gaza Strip by utilizing drones. Israel is looking to stop helium deliveries to the Palestinian people. Warning shots are being fired at manufacturers of such “devices”.

“If someone shoots at your family, you shoot at him… if someone sends burning and exploding balloons, you shoot at him. It is so obvious that I find it hard to believe that I need to explain,” Education Minister Naftali Bennett.

Trend Update: Hamas Attacks Israeli Preschool, May 2018

May 29, 2018: Hamas and Islamic Jihad continue to fire multiple rounds of mortar shells into southern Israel. Sirens continue to blare across southern Israel. This is reported to be the heaviest amount of Gaza mortar fire in close to four years.

 

“Israel will extract a heavy price from anyone who tries to harm it,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Outrage was expressed by politicians across Israel. The largest grievance filed was over Hamas targeting a preschool.

“Shooting mortars at a preschool crosses a serious red line. We cannot allow terrorist organizations to hurt and undermine the security of the children and other residents of the Gaza envelope towns.” Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein

UN Mideast Envoy Nickolay Mladenov expressed condemnation over targeting a preschool.

“…deeply concerned by the indiscriminate firing of rockets by Palestinian militants from Gaza towards communities in southern Israel…. hit in the immediate vicinity of a kindergarten and could have killed or injured children. Such attacks are unacceptable and undermine the serious efforts by the international community to improve the situation in Gaza.” UN Mideast Envoy Nickolay Mladenov

 

Israel is responding…

Prime Minister Netanyahu took the time to address Israeli concerns with Iran in the northern part of Israel in the Golan Heights.

“We will not allow Iran to entrench itself in Syria and act against us, and to manufacture weapons in Lebanon. Iran needs to leave Syria entirely. In any event, we will act according to our interests, with or without understandings. We will defend ourselves by ourselves, since we are determined to ensure our future.” -Benjamin Netanyahu

Trend Update: Nakba Day, 2018

May 15, 2018: Nakba Day

Nakba is the word for “catastrophe” in Arabic. Palestinians remember the day after Israeli independence in 1948. The Palestinians were removed from their land and scattered because of the Jewish “occupation”.

Palestinians have a key as symbol of remembrance. The key is a reminder of the houses they were forced out of when Israel occupied the land. The hope is to take back the land and their homes.

Typically, the day is commemorated with skirmishes against the Israeli Defense Forces. Activities include Molotov cocktails, throwing rocks, burning tires, roadside bombs, terror kites, arson, grenades, pipe bombs, and destruction of property.

Palestinian protests on the Gaza/Israeli border have been occurring for weeks. Yesterday, a terror attack was foiled by the Israeli Defense Forces. At least 59 Palestinians were killed along with over 2,800 injuries on May 14 alone. This took place as the United States moved its Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

 

There has been international outcry for excessive force used by Israel. The IDF dropped leaflets as warnings against further violence. Israel has responded by gun fire, tear gas, and air to ground missiles.

Inside the Gaza Strip, the terrorist group Hamas is threatening more violence. In response, Israel has indicated it will assassinate Hamas leadership if the violence continues. Israel sent a message to Hamas through the Egyptian press.

“If the protests continue, the assassinations will return,” Israeli Security Official.

US Embassy Move to Jerusalem Set for “This Generation” ???, February 2018

The date has been set. News of the move broke via Twitter.

The United States will move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Israel’s 70th Independence Day. The date is May 14, 2018.

This is 70 years to the date President Harry Truman announced the re-birth of Israel.

May 14, 1948: late morning eastern standard time (late afternoon in Palestine): David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister, reads a “Declaration of Independence,” which proclaims the existence of a Jewish state called Israel beginning on May 15, 1948, at 12:00 midnight Palestine time (6:00 p.m., May 14, 1948, eastern standard time).

May 14, 1948, 6 p.m. eastern standard time (12:00 midnight in Palestine): The British mandate for Palestine expires, and the state of Israel comes into being.

Sheldon Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, is willing to privately pay for the embassy move. The cost is estimated to be $500 million. Adelson is a supporter of the Republican Party. He has also backed both President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel in the past.

The Palestinians refer to Israeli Independence as Nakba Day. Nakba is the Arabic word for “catastrophe”. They acknowledge Nakba Day the day after Israel’s declaration on May 15. Nakba day was initiated on Israel’s 50th Independence Day by Yasser Arafat. The day is typically celebrated with conflict and skirmishes against the Israeli Defense Forces.

As a result, Palestinians have responded in anger and rage. Violence broke out in Gaza and the West Bank.

Saeb Erekat, Senior Palestinian Negotiator made the following statements.

“Determination to violate international law, destroy the two-state solution and provoke the feelings of the Palestinian people as well as of all Arabs, Muslims and Christians around the globe. Trump and his team have disqualified the US from being part of the solution between Israelis and Palestinians; rather, the world now sees that they are part of the problem.”

Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas Official was quoted.

“Moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem is a declaration of war against the Arab and Muslim nation, and the US administration must reconsider its move.”

Some would argue, the time span covered in this post is a Biblical generation.

Psalm 90:10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.

Are we entering a prophetic window of time??? The context is the Olivet Discourse and the end of time scenario. Jesus made this comment.

Matthew 24:33-34 So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

 

It is ultimately your personal business…But I highly recommend getting right with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.

Trend Update: Israel Land Division, Military Implications, June 2016

Joel 3:2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land..

Israel… and they have divided up My land. It is a foregone conclusion as to the result of God’s land Israel. The nations have and will further divide the land. Humanity is a serial offender of dividing God’s land. Peace talks (2016) will ultimately result in the division of the land per Joel 3:2. The timing remains to be seen.
