Straight Talk, Jesus and Daylight… Rodna Epley

After Jesus’ disciples protested about returning to Judea for fear of the Jews, Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.”

Jesus is using natural terms here so that His disciples could understand the deeper truth that He was the Day.

Then He said, “But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

Because the light is not in him…

Here Jesus is talking about another kind of light other than the sun. Since the sun can’t be in you. The implication here is… if the light is in a man then he won’t stumble even when he walks in the night. Because it’s always day for those who follow Christ. So whatever light we see by will cause us to stumble… or not. If we only use the world’s light (of the sun, or even of the world’s kind of knowledge) then we are aware as far as that light extends to give us a visual but it’s limit is in only as far as our natural eyes can see. However, if we see by the Father’s light from within then we will avoid all danger, all evil, and all pitfalls… every time we set out to do something. We will see the manifested glory from the beginning. We know how the movie ends before it begins because we know His promises are trustworthy and true and His Word never returns void of an answer but it accomplishes what He sends it out to do.

So there are people who have an inward light that they see by. These are those who not only have Christ in them (the hope of glory) but they are in Christ (the Lord of glory). The light of the Father’s glory shines upon them making all things possible. One only needs to release His glory through spoken words that match the Holy Spirit’s words given to that individual. Or by doing something (a work) the Holy Spirit shows them to do.

Just as Christ was the Light of the world, we too are the light of the world as long as we are in it. When a light is turned on all darkness immediately scatters. No spiritual struggling needs to take place. Just turn on the light through His promises which are saturated in His glory and whatever promise is declared or acted upon must come to pass. Because the Father is doing it and not us at that point. He is doing it in us just as He did it in Jesus. Because He loves us just as He loves Jesus (John 17:23).

Turn on any light in a dark room and we will know the meaning of the light of Christ, and what that light does – the darkness flees with no contest. This is how the Father’s glory works in us because He shines on us and we are correctly positioned in Christ and seated in heavenly places in Him on the throne of glory, where the Father’s Light originates.

“Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:3)

The night came when Jesus died. But the glory of the Father raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand of glory. Now we are that light of the world because we are in Christ perfectly restored to the Father. Jesus is that “Day” where the sun is always shining. There is no darkness in Him at all. So as long as we are truly in Christ we will always walk in the day even when it is night. Because for someone who is in Christ there is no darkness at all.

“Awake, my glory! Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn.” (Psalm 57:8)

“And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was…And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” (John 17:5,22-23)

Straight Talk… Prepared Before Time, Rodna Epley

Rodna LightEverything God did in regards to creation was already done before He created the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1:1. The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. If the Lamb had already been slain before Jesus ever had a chance to be born through the womb of a woman, then so too was He also already raised from the dead, and so too was He also already glorified. All of that happened in eternity, outside of time and space. Same goes for us. It’s all already done.

Romans 8:29,30 For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called he also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified.

We are just playing out the movie. We can edit the film too and chop out the parts we don’t like and retake scenes that aren’t good. This is exactly what Jesus did on earth. He went about doing good and healed all who were oppressed by the devil.

Acts 10:38 …how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Jesus also walked on water and changed weather patterns.

Mark 4:39 Then He (Jesus) arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. See also Matthew 8:26, Luke 8:24.

He operated in the glory of the Father, took authority over threatening situations and showed us how to do it. He wasn’t just showing off. He was teaching us how to operate in the glory He gave us from John 17:5,22,23 the same glory the Father gave Him, for the purpose of making us all one and so that we can know the Father loves us in the same way He loved Jesus.

John 17:5,22,23 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

Without Christ we can do nothing.

John 5:5 One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.

With Christ nothing is impossible.

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Straight Talk…Treasure in Earthen Vessels, Rodna Epley

RodnaApparently, the Father thinks it’s time for us to start becoming “one” as a church – with the whole body of Christ. These verses in John reveal Jesus’ desire for us to become “one” with each other and with Him and the Father.

Jesus gave us the same glory that the Father gave Him before the foundation of the world in order to help us do that. His glory is necessary because it makes us one. And in this oneness, we can know the Father loves us just as He loved Jesus. And we can know the Father sent Jesus into the world. In fact, according to Exodus 33, the Father is His glory. So the Father gave us Jesus and Jesus gave us the Father.

earthen vessels

We have this treasure in earthen vessels. This treasure will be protected.

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…

The “treasure” is the glory and presence of our Father! He will always care for us and wants to teach us how to have relationships that bring glory to Him.

Blessings to all! <3
