In any kind of relationship, the relationship will thrive when you try to outdo each other in kindness & giving. Not for selfish reasons, but because it’s the right thing to do. Not for expectations of what might be given back, but because you truly want the other as happy as you want yourself to be. Those that are a blessing will be blessed.

Be kind to others & make them feel accepted. Feeling like an outsider is a terribly lonely feeling. We are all the same & want the same things at the end of the day really. Just treat others as you’d have them treat you. Nobody is better than anyone else.

Romans 2:11 For God shows no partiality.

Romans 15:7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Acts 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak & remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Proverbs 11:25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.

Have a blessed weekend my friends!!!

Straight Talk…Applied Kindness, Rodna Epley

Romans 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

A real application of NOT loving our enemy is: to lash out when we are wronged, defend yourself, yell, or be aggressive in some way. Then go talk about it to people and justify our innocence and their guilt. Speaking trash to the hearer causes more hate to spread.

A real application of loving our enemy would be to let them do or say whatever, then immediately give them a response they do not expect, such as “I can see how you might feel that way, and I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression. Sometimes I’m terrible with communication but let me try again please.”

Then we should almost always use OURSELVES as the example in the situation: of where we have been weak and how God made us stronger. This will allow that person to let down their guard and their anger will dissipate. It disarms them. They may not admit to guilt right away or ever. But they will think about it later and not feel judged. Possibly it opens up their hearts to a loving God who isn’t trying to judge them.

Defending ourselves and trying to prove ourselves right or justify our actions is a defense mechanism that we all struggle with. But choosing to do good and be kind in response to an assassination on our character will disallow the root of bitterness and anger to take hold.

It saddens me deeply when a life is lost too soon. We never know what someone else is fighting on the inside. Be kind to everyone. Be there for them. Be someone that hopefully they can come to when they are struggling. Depression is so real & so scary. It feels like you’re alone, even if you’re around others a lot. If you are struggling, reach out to others. There are those of us that want to help & understand. Reach out to God, because he does truly heal.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken-hearted & binds up their wounds.

Have a healing day my friends!!!

In a world full of hate, I choose love & kindness. Those who are kind will be rewarded. They will gain love & respect, which is equal to riches to me.

Ephesians 4:12. Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgive one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Proverbs 11:17. A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.

Have a kindness Friday my friends!!!
