Several Russian military aircraft arrived at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria as part of an exercise. More than 15 warships and over 30 aircraft are taking part in the exercises of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
On Friday, in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, joint exercises of the forces of the permanent task force of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea and aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces began. As part of the event, a pair of MiG-31K aircraft, which have the ability to use the latest hypersonic missiles from the Kinzhal complex, and an Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft, flew from Russian airfields to the Russian Khmeimim airbase in the Syrian Arab Republic.
According to the plan of the exercises, five ships of the Russian Navy, in particular the missile cruiser Moskva, the frigates Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov, as well as two submarines Stary Oskol and Rostov-on-Don, together with anti-submarine aircraft Tu- 142MK, Il-38, Tu-22M3 long-range bombers and MiG-31K aircraft will perform combat training tasks to ensure the security of the Khmeimim airbase and the Russian Navy’s logistics center Tartus.
Also, during training flights, aviation technology and equipment will be tested in difficult climatic conditions, including those caused by high temperatures and the possibility of long-term flights over the water surface. Aircraft crews will acquire practical skills for working out training tasks in new geographical areas.
At the moment, an air strike group led by the aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth is in the Mediterranean Sea. In this regard, one of the goals of the exercises will be to monitor the actions of an aircraft carrier group.
In May this past year, the reconstruction of the second runway at the Khmeimim air base was completed with a complete replacement of the coating and the installation of new lighting and radio equipment. Thanks to the increase in the length of the runway at the Khmeimim airfield, the crews of Russian long-range aviation and the latest missile carriers have been able to practice practical skills in performing tasks in the airspace over the Mediterranean Sea.
Russia is increasing its efforts to communicate their disapproval of recent Israeli activity in Syria. Coordinated communications are emerging. Russia is pursuing “humanitarian assistance” in Syria.
US military brass has expressed concerns of Russian military activity spilling into the Middle East from Ukraine.
Satellite images show Russian building possible military hospitals in preparation for a possible invasion.
Shortages of commodities are emerging around the world. Energy prices continue to spike higher.

Ezekiel 38:4 And I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords.
The context of the verse God is talking to Gog of Magog. Gog is the leader of what many scholars and historians believe to be modern day Russia. See the link below for detailed analysis.
The focus of the verse is the size of the army arrayed by Gog.
…and all your army…The Hebrew word for “all” is kol. Simply put, it means the whole or all of the army.
It is stated a second time, all of them clothed in full armor…Again it is the term kol in the Hebrew. This group is well dressed and has provision to fight. Their gear is “splendid” or miklol. This word could be translated as perfection or gorgeous. The army looks impressive.
A third time, the army is described as a great host. They are rab in the Hebrew which can be stated as much, many, or great.
And finally a fourth time, all of them. Yes, it is the word kol. This is emphasized four times. This is a massive army that is well armed and prepared to attack and defend. Definitions provided by Strong’s Concordance.
Russia has been building military might into Syria since late 2015. Russia has hardware all over Syria including the border of Israel in the Golan Heights.
January 2018: According to Al Masdar News, Russia continues to pour equipment into Syria. Russia has placed S400 Missile Defense Systems into naval bases in Latakia and Tartus. The Russians have stated these two bases will become permanent installations. Rumors indicate a missile system may be placed at a mystery location somewhere else in Syria.
Bosphorus Strait in Turkey: Two Russian ships were noted to be loaded with military equipment. The ships were reported to be in route to Tartus, Syria.
One ship had its cargo in the hull and was unable to be assessed.
The second was noted with 133 transport trucks on the deck of the ship. It was unknown what was being carried below the deck.

December 13, 2017: Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a bill to the Duma. This is the lower house of the Russian Parliament. Putin has reached an agreement with Syria on the Naval Base in Tartus.
Click on video link below for additional analysis and geography.
Below are excerpts from Putin’s document.
“The duration of the agreement is 49 years, it can be automatically prolonged for a period of 25 years in case none of the parties send a written notification to the other at least one year before a period expires concerning its intention to terminate the agreement…”
“The naval base has full immunity from Syria’s civil and administrative jurisdiction. Its movable and immovable property is immune from search, seizure and other proceedings…”
“Russia has the right to send the necessary number of troops to maintain the naval facility…”
Russia will not be charged rent for the naval base. Reports indicate the base could house 11 ships and nuclear vessels. Residential and office buildings will be part of the development.
The base is for defensive purposes only as indicated in a joint statement by Russia and Syria. Specific nations are not being targeted.
Prior to this bill, President Putin ordered the withdrawal of “significant” Russian troops from Syria. He proclaimed victory over “the most battle-hardened grouping of international terrorists”.
If history is any indicator, Russia withdraws only to come back again in greater number. The prophet Ezekiel tells us how this ends. Russia will come in tremendous numbers with other countries. It will look overwhelming for the nation Israel. And then God decides to flex His muscle. The Lord will protect His chosen people.
Ezekiel 39:2 And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the mountains of Israel.
Ezekiel 38:5 Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet…
August 31, 2017: The United States is allowing Iranian supported militia less than ten kilometers from the Israeli Golan Heights in Syria. Israel obviously does not support the move. Syria is supported by Iran and Hezbollah out of Lebanon. All of these groups are Shia Muslims and they support Syria’s President Assad.
The support behind all of the Shia activity in Syria is Russia. These comments are quoted per Pravda out of Russia. These were the observations of the Russians regarding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Sochi, Russia last week.
Netanyahu was observed to be “too emotional and at times even close to panic”. Israeli officials denied the observations.
The Head of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah has surfaced, literally. Nasrallah made the road trip from his bunker to Damascus to see President Assad of Syria. The leader of Hezbollah has been living in a hole since 2006 and the war against Israel. Nasrallah is on Israel’s most wanted list.
“We call on the state to devise a plan and take a sovereign decision to liberate the Shebaa Farms and the Kfarshouba Hills,” Hassan Nasrallah, Leader of Hezbollah.
Shebaa Farms is also known as Mount Dov in Hebrew. Nasrallah apparently wants to go another round with Israel.
August 28, 2017: ISIS and Hezbollah agreed to a truce. Hundreds of ISIS fighters and pro ISIS civilians were sent packing in a bus from the Lebanon and Syria border. It is believed pro ISIS people were sent to eastern Syria near Iraq. With this deal, ISIS is done in Lebanon. (As an aside, ISIS has been defeated west of Mosul in Tal Afar, Iraq. ISIS is essentially done in Iraq. And ISIS is on the ropes in Raqqah, Syria.)
Nasrallah was in support of the deal and told Assad the following.
“We have a humanitarian cause. We wish you to help us. We can only know what happened to the soldiers through this compromise.”
Assad told Nasrallah, “This will make things difficult for me.”
August 31, 2017: Behold Israel is reporting Russia has stationed the S-400 missile system near Tartus. This is the factory that manufactures long-range missiles for Hezbollah. The factory is supported and paid for by Iran.
