Trend Update: Russian Military Police to “Safe Zone” Near Golan Heights, July 2017

Ezekiel 38:8 After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.

…you will be summoned…The “you” is Gog of Magog. The ancient land of Magog is largely regarded as modern day Russia by secular and Biblical scholars. Jewish rabbis generally contend Magog is Russia. Gog is the leader of Magog.

The time point is in the latter years. The prophet Ezekiel documented this book roughly 2,600 years ago. The Hebrew language describes the time period as being toward the end or the final period. So the question remains, is now the latter years?

…whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.

The nation of Israel was reborn in 1948 and recognized as a nation by the world. The mountains of Israel are located in the Golan Heights. Since 1948, Jews from around the world have migrated and returned back to the Promised Land. The land was a desert and barren until the return of its people.

The immigration of the chosen people back to the land is called “Aliyah”. Israel has a “Law of Return” granting citizenship to people of Jewish cultural heritage. Today the population of Israel is roughly 8.3 million per the latest census numbers. http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/israel-population/

Some would argue whether or not Israel is dwelling safely in light of all the terrorism. That piece of the prophecy is up for debate as of July 2017. We also know the future holds a faulty peace deal for the people of Israel.

The context of Ezekiel 38 is a future invasion of Israel from the north. Gog of Magog will lead this invasion through the mountains of Israel or the Golan Heights.

July 24, 2017: The Russian Defense Ministry issued the following statement. Russian military police are being introduced to “safe zones” in Syria. Ultimately, there are to be four “safe zones” in Syria. For now, Russian troops are being sent to two “safe zones”.

Two of these areas have yet to be established at this time. One is believed to be in the northwest part of Syria in the Idlib Province. The second is thought to be in the Homs Province. A new round of peace talks for these two “safe zones” is scheduled for late August in Kazakhstan.

One of the “safe zones” is the eastern suburb area of Damascus in the Ghouta region. At this time, nobody is following the ceasefire agreement and fighting continues. Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 tells us what ultimately happens to Damascus. It is a burden too heavy to carry.

The-Golan-Heights

The last “safe zone” is in southwest Syria on the Golan Heights border with Israel. The following is from Senior Commander Sergei Rudskoi.

“Moscow has also informed Israel of its deployment and that the nearest Russian position is 13 kilometers (about 8 miles) from the demarcation line between Israeli and Syrian troops in the Golan Heights.”

The Russian military buildup near Israel’s Golan Heights border has begun.

Trend Update: Immigration to Israel/Aliyah, May 2016

Isaiah 11:11-12 In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea. He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Ezekiel 20:34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.

Israel is about to celebrate its 68th birthday. The Central Bureau of Statistics announced Israel has 8.522 million citizens. This is 10 times more than in 1948, the rebirth of the nation. Approximately 75% of the population is Jewish.

In 2014 there were 14.3 million Jews in the world. Forty three percent were estimated to live Israel.

In 1948, Tel Aviv was the only city with over 100,000 people. Today in May of 2016, there are 14 cities over 100,000.

Last year, 36,000 moved to Israel, Aliyah. This is the voluntary immigration back to the land of Israel from the diaspora. Simply stated, Aliyah means ascent.

Amos 9:15 I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the LORD your God.

Trend Update: Immigration to Israel/Aliyah, February 2015

Jeremiah 31:8, 10 “Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, and I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together; a great company, they will return here. Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare in the coastlands afar off, and say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.” –Lord God

Jeremiah 31 is a chapter about the future restoration of the country Israel, the people, the land, and the city of Jerusalem. The chapter promises a return of the Jews to the land of Israel. Happiness, safety, and peace abound. Agriculture efforts will flourish. Produce and livestock increases will be exponential. Israel will repent of its past. There will be a spiritual rebirth. Cities across Israel will be rebuilt. Jerusalem will be the capital and the size of the city will be expanded.

God promises His people (Israel) through the course of the Bible He will return them to the land of their fathers. Over three million Jews have immigrated back to the land of Israel since 1948 (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/).

Read today’s (February 2015) news. After a shooting of Jews in Denmark, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is calling for Jews to return to their homeland of Israel. This is in response to the rise of anti-Semitism across Europe and the world. Today (February 2015) Jews are returning en masse from France, Ukraine, and Belgium. European leaders have been vocally opposed for the call to return to Israel despite the anti-Semitism taking place in their countries.

Legislation and financial aid has been passed in Israel to allow for an increase of immigration.

As a friend put it, “Prophecies being fulfilled right there!”

Jeremiah 31:17 “There is hope for your future,” declares the LORD, “And your children will return to their own territory.”

Trend Update: Land for Peace/January 2015

Genesis 12:3 “…And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Joel 3:2b …My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.

Foreign policy decisions around the globe are being made in light of God’s chosen people. What will countries do with the land (Israel) that God gave to His people? God says He will have a response.

On December 30, 2014 the United Nations Security Council presented a resolution for Palestinian statehood by 2017. The vote was to force Israel to divide Jerusalem. Palestine is to be established based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Below is a copy of the proposed resolution.

The resolution did not pass. It failed by one vote. Eight countries (Russia, Argentina, Chad, Chile, China, France, Jordan, Luxembourg) voted in favor of a Palestinian state, two voted against (United States, Australia), and five abstained (Nigeria, United Kingdom, Lithuania, South Korea, Rwanda). Nigeria was expected to vote for but changed its stance and abstained at this time.

After the vote, Russia was critical of the vote and called this a “strategic mistake”.

One day later, 12/31/14, the Palestinians joined the International Criminal Court. Speculation is the Palestinians will use this position to file charges of war crimes against Israel.

God has promised many times over that He will bring His people back to their land, Israel. There are tens of examples. The regathering of Israel is a theme of the Bible, both the Old Testament and New Testament. Here are a few examples.

Jeremiah 32:37 “Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands to which I have driven them in My anger, in My wrath and in great indignation; and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in safety.”

Ezekiel 11:17 “Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’

Psalms 107:2-3 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary and gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

Deuteronomy 30:3 then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.

Romans 11:26: and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.” See Romans 11 for details of Israel’s future. God has not forgotten His people. As background to these verses, 2014 marked the year with the greatest amount of immigration to Israel since 2002. “Aliyah” is the term Jews refer to immigration to Israel. The Jews are going up to Jerusalem, “Aliyah”. France was the country with the greatest number of immigrants. The country with the second largest number of immigrants was Ukraine.http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4609941,00.html
