Happy Birthday America!!! It is our 245th Independence Day. Today we find ourselves at a crossroads. We are divided politically, socially, and morally. What direction is this country going to take?

I am going to leave it to the talking heads and pundits to discuss politically and socially.

What does God’s word say about freedom? I promise you it is not what you see and hear in today’s media.

At the core of American, western culture is a “me first” attitude. People are out to get theirs and often at the expense of others. The media glorifies and worships these champions of success.

As you read these verses, think about the cultural stance on the following issues.

~

Sexual immorality: The culture says, “If it feels good, do it!”… among many other things.

1 Corinthians 6:12-13 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food” and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

~

Neighbors: Do we even know our neighbors any more? God’s word is calling us to put the needs of others above our needs.

1 Corinthians 10:23-24 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.

~

Do Good and Respect Authority

1 Peter 2:16-17 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Unfortunately, those who are acting out in violence against authority and others garner a significant portion of attention in the news. Yes, they are free to act this way. But this does not mean they are free from the consequences of their actions. Who are they serving? Are they honorable? Their actions are hardly loving.

There will be plenty of who disagree with what God has to say. Take it up with Him. He will listen. He is a big boy, He can handle it.

God’s word calls for a society where we look after others as a priority instead of ourselves. Respect, serve, love others… even the one’s we disagree with.

Do not underestimate the power of good…

1 Peter 2:15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.

Memorial Day, 2021… Paul Beverly

Please take the time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Please take the time to give gratitude to our active duty military personnel who protect our freedom. Enjoy time with your family and friends during this Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

The older I get the more I realize that family is everything. I regret time not spent with them. Cousins were my first best friends & are the ones that will always have my back. There’s a special bond & love in family that honestly can’t be duplicated. Family is love!

Tomorrow is never guaranteed, so don’t live like it is. Live each day as if it’s your last. Choose to spend your time wisely, doing what’s good & loving others. God gave us this life for a purpose, live with that purpose.

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Ephesians 5:16 Make the best use of time, because the days are evil.

James 4:14 Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time & then vanishes.

~

Let us not forget the freedom we have in Jesus. He sacrificed Himself for all of humanity.

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.”

Have a purpose filled Memorial Day Weekend my friends!!!

Grace To Those Who Hear… Paul Beverly

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Paul Beverly with tags , , , , on May 25, 2021 by paulthepoke

Why do we believe the words of those that hurt us, but can’t see what those that love us see in ourselves?

If you think those that are hurting you love you, you need to understand that they don’t know how to love. That’s not love or truth.  So many lack confidence in themselves because they only hear about the negative that some may see.

Focus on the good in others & build them up. Believe those that are building you up & try to see just a portion of what they see. Praise the positive you see in them. Give them confidence. Confidence is appealing.

Be confident in yourself…

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those that hear.

Have a grace giving week my friends!!!

“I Love You!” -God Rodna Epley

So my mom and I are walking in the park and we see a puddle in the shape of a heart. Jesus always sends us messages if we just open our eyes! ❤️❤️❤️ Betty Epley

If we just look around we can see the fingerprint of God everywhere, even on a nature walk. Here on the sidewalk 5 years ago I saw the love of our Father in heaven outlined in glory! 🥰🙏He said a big, “I love you!” in that moment. Notice all the little flower pedals that fell into the water and surrounded the heart. With the sun shining on it, the heart that He put there for anyone with eyes to see, radiated with His glory! His glory is the Protector our hearts.

“Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

“This hope (of glory) we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence (of glory) behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever.” (Hebrews 6:19-20)

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:4-6)

Yes and Amen! Have a blessed day everyone! Jesus and our Father both love you immensely and intensely! Don’t be afraid to come near Him. God is love. There is no need to be afraid of true love.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love drives out fear,” (1 John 4:18)

His glory is designed to protect our hearts where we can safely trust in Him without any fear at all.

Love More, Judge Less… Paul Beverly

Passing judgement on a person’s sin, makes you an equal sinner. God didn’t make a list of sins & say one was worse than the other. He did however say that the greatest thing we can do is love. Let’s all love more…

James 4:12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

Matthew 22:37-40 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” -Jesus

Have a loving week my friends!!!

Love… Paul Beverly

It saddens me when I see individuals or “hate groups” blame God for evil done in this world. God is love & I imagine all the evil saddens Him as well. There is no greater love than the love that God has for us. Such a great love that He gave His only Son to die for our sins. God wants us to overcome evil with love. Share love today.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one & only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Have a loving & good week my friends!!!

Our Response… Paul Beverly

We can’t control how others treat us, but we can control how we react. It’s easy to want to get even with someone who has wronged you, but God says to leave it to him to avenge evil. Getting revenge may seem like a temporary good feeling, but in the long run it will leave you feeling sick inside. Be at peace & focus on those that love you & lift you up. Don’t allow wrong doers space in your head.

Romans 12:17 Do not repay evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

1 Peter 3:9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Have a blessed week my friends!!!

Daniel’s Answered Prayers

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Angels, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , on August 16, 2020 by paulthepoke

Daniel 9:22 He made me understand, speaking with me and saying, “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding.

God has heard Daniel’s prayers. The Lord has sent Gabriel. Daniel gives all the credit to Gabriel. The angel is the source of information and consideration. Gabriel is bringing truth from God.

Daniel 9:23 At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.

…a word went out… God was listening to Daniel’s petition and He responded. Notice God did not waste any time. He responded to Daniel “At the beginning“. A word or dabar in the Hebrew went out. Dabar is translated as a word or speech. God was giving Daniel an answer to his prayers. Yahweh sent the angel Gabriel to deliver the message.

…you are greatly loved… Gabriel provides confirmation to Daniel regarding his position in God. Daniel is told he is “greatly loved” or chamad. The term is also translated as desired. God takes pleasure in Daniel. Definitions provided by Strong’s Concordance.

Daniel’s plea and prayers were answered and then some. Little did Daniel know, he was about to receive the outline of history for at least the next 2,500 years. The information revealed would include the first and second coming of the Messiah Jesus, the construction of two temples, the demolition of one temple, the destruction of Jerusalem, the forecast of the antichrist, the outline for the end times scenario, and the ushering of an everlasting and eternal peace… restoration as God intended.

Daniel’s position in God is no different than our position today. God has blessed us with favor and grace.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

God desires for humanity to be restored as He created us. He loves us all yet He gives us the choice to choose Him.

1 Timothy 2:3-6 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is One mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

Time is running short. The choice is yours…

The word “love” is written in the bible 310 times in the King James Version & 551 times New International Version. Seems like it must be a pretty important action since it’s mentioned so many times in the Book of life. We definitely need more love in this world. Are you showing love enough?

Choose Kindness… Featuring Paul Beverly

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Paul Beverly with tags , , , , on July 26, 2020 by paulthepoke

In a world full of hate, I choose love & kindness. Those who are kind will be rewarded. They will gain love & respect, which is equal to riches to me.

Ephesians 4:12. Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgive one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Proverbs 11:17. A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.

Have a week of kindness my friends!!!
