Muslims often complain of misconceptions about their religion in the West. We took a hard look. The most prevalent myths of Islam are the ones held by Muslims and Western apologists. The only exception may be the misconception that all Muslims are alike. They are not of course. But many Muslims apparently believe this as well. This is why there are various factions insisting that they are true Muslims. Those who disagree with them are either infidels, hijackers, or hypocrites. Don’t be fooled! Hear the myths but know the truth.
Islam Means “Peace”
The Myth: Muslim apologists sometimes claim that the root word of Islam is “al-Salaam,” which is “peace” in Arabic.
The Truth: An Arabic word has only one root. The root word for Islam is “al-Silm,” which means “submission” or “surrender.”
There is no disagreement about this among Arabic or Islamic scholars. al-Silm (submission) does not mean the same thing as al-Salaam (peace).
Submission and peace can be very different concepts. But peace can be brought about by forcing others into submission.
As the modern-day Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Sulaiman, puts it, “Jihad is not inhumane. Despite its necessary violence and bloodshed, its ultimate desire is peace which is protected and enhanced by the rule of law.”
In truth, the Quran not only calls Muslims to submit to Allah, it also orders them to subdue people of other religions until they are in a full state of submission to Islamic rule. This has inspired the aggressive history of Islam, its military, and demographic success in conquering other cultures.
Be thankful every day. Show your thankfulness to others with appreciation for them. Give thanks to God every day for what He provides for you. Count your blessings instead of your wants. A thankful heart is a happy heart.
I start each day by giving thanks for what I have & thanks for moments in my life. Having a thankful heart sure makes my days a lot better. Be happy & content with what you have & where you currently are in life. It could always be worse.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Colossians 4:2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Philemon 1:4 I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers.
Those that stay humble have peace & happiness. They are often not disappointed because they are grounded. Those living in humbleness will be blessed. Stay humble.
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
Now is the perfect time to forgive & mend a broken relationship. When you are truly able to forgive, it will bring so much peace into your life. Sometimes it may not be healthy to have certain people in our lives, but we still need to forgive them, for the peace it brings us. Forgive others as God has forgiven us. Seek peace!
Mark 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your father also who is in Heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
I know we are to be content, but can we be too content? I believe it’s good to want better. Better health, better wealth, better thoughts, better happiness, better life, etc. Don’t want better things out of greed, but want better for peace & joy. This new year I will strive to be more diligent to do better. Better in the things I should be doing anyway. Better at being a good dad. Better at being a good friend. Better at being organized. Better at reaching goals. Better at being a good example. Better at all things that will improve my life. Better at being healthy. Better at helping others. Better at being better.
Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
One of the best feelings you will have is having peace in your life. The way to get peace is trusting in God & avoiding negativity in your life. God wants peace for us all, but you can’t have it by depending only on ourselves & others. Peace comes from God. Strive for peace my friends.
Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Romans 14:19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace & mutual upbuilding.
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together, to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.
Ezekiel 38-39 says Russia allied with Turkey, Iran and others are going to invade Israel from the north. Look who is getting together to form an alliance for peace on Israel’s northern border in Syria.

August 8-9, 2017: Turkey, Iran, and Russia are having peace talks about “safe zones” in Syria. The location of the discussion is Tehran, Iran. This is according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to Lavrov, there are three operating safe zones in Syria. They include: southern Syria, Eastern Ghouta, and north of Homs. The focus of the peace talks is the Idlib province.
The safe zones were allegedly brokered on May 4, 2017. Turkey, Iran and Russia signed the deal to establish safe zones in Syria. More discussion is scheduled for later in August 2017.
August 9, 2017: A peace deal has been reached in Cairo, Egypt regarding a safe zone. The meeting was between the Russian Defense Ministry and Syrian opposition. The safe zone is the area between Hama (ancient Hamath of Jeremiah 49) and Homs. Again…Russia, Turkey, and Iran are the enforcers of the ceasefire.
August 8, 2017: Israel has held secret talks with the Russians and the United States. Meetings reportedly took place in Europe and Jordan. The Israeli concern is the increased presence of Iranian troops near the border in the Golan Heights. Increased Iranian presence is an Israeli concern all across Syria.
Here is the official statement from Israel.
“Senior Israeli officials said that the main dispute was that the Americans and the Russians see the cease-fire in southern Syria and the safe zones as a practical and tactical means of stabilizing the situation and enable a focus on wiping out the Islamic State and lowering the flames of the civil war. Israel, however, believes that the agreement should be considered from a long-term, strategic perspective and should focus on what the extent of Iranian influence will be in Syria after the civil war ends.
The Israelis told their interlocutors that the agreement should provide a solution not regarding Iranian presence in the 20 kilometers from the Israeli border, but for the rest of Syria as well. A senior Israeli official said the Israelis told the Russians and the Americans that they had to demand from the Iranians that the Revolutionary Guards, Hezbollah and the Shi’ite militias in Syria must leave the country.”
More troops are going to be necessary to keep the peace. This is escalating faster than earlier plans revealed by the Russians.
In case you didn’t know…The United Nations International Peace Day is scheduled for September 21, 2017. This also coincides with the start of God’s Appointed Fall Feasts. This year’s theme: Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.
For those who have not made a decision on Jesus Christ. You might want to think about it. Did He really die for sin?
Time to be vigilant and pay attention…
1 Thessalonians 5:3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
What good comes from bitterness & anger? It not only affects the people you are showing these acts towards, but it holds you back & keeps you from peace & God’s blessings. Being angry & bitter won’t fix anything, but love & forgiveness will. Let go & let God!
Hebrews 12:14-15 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled.
Romans 12:18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Proverbs 3:30 Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.
Ezekiel 39:2 And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the mountains of Israel.
The prophet Ezekiel is talking to Gog of Magog. Magog is widely considered to be modern day Russia. Russia is the uttermost parts of the north from Israel. The largest peaks and mountains of Israel are located in the Golan Heights.
July 19, 2017: According to Sputnik News out of Russia, Russian troops are essentially on the Israeli and Syrian border. This story is being written from Quneitra, Syria. Russian troops are administering humanitarian aid in the town of Quneitra. Food, basic goods, and medical care and supplies are being distributed.
“Now the situation is much better. Thanks to the Syrian army and Russia for saving us from terrorism,” anonymous elderly Syrian man.
“Now everything is quiet, there is the furthest point [we control] some hundreds meters in front. A militants-controlled settlement follows. There is no communication between us, there are three roads and all of them are blocked. We have left only one small path for the militants, who want to lay down their weapons,” Senior Syrian Officer assisted by Russian officers.
This story was first reported as a possibility by the private Israeli intelligence website www.debka.com a couple of days ago. Debka.com is also reporting Russian troops are now in Quneitra. Russia and Syria are promising more aid to the area. Israel had been providing aid to the area because the Quneitra region had been isolated by all the fighting.
The following statistical data is provided by Debka.com. This is what has taken place under “The Good Neighbor” program by Israel. 200,000 Syrian villagers have been receiving aid from Israel. This includes 80 non-ISIS rebel-controlled villages 15km deep inside the Syrian Golan. In 2016, Israel sent over half a million liters of heavy fuel, 360 tons of foodstuffs, 77 tons of clothing and shoes, tens of generators, a water system, medical treatment including hospital care for the sick, and a field hospital on the border for injured Syrians.
“Where were the Russians all these years when Israel alone helped the beleaguered villages across its border?” IDF Officers.
A second ceasefire deal is on the negotiating table in Syria. President Trump made this comment during a joint press conference with French President Macron.
“By having some communication and dialogue (with Russia) we were able to have a ceasefire and it’s going to go on very well. Frankly, we are working on a second ceasefire in a very rough part of Syria,” President Donald Trump.
Time to really pay attention! We are talking about peace! The Apostle Paul warned from roughly 2,000 years ago. Ezekiel warned from 2,600 years ago.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
Is this the time the prophets warned a future generation???
Do your homework, your eternal soul is at stake. Jesus Christ may be knocking…
Matthew 24:15“Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)…” –Jesus
Let me re-introduce Adnan Oktar. He is an Islamic scholar and a peace activist. Adnan Oktar openly speaks against anti-Semitism on his TV program in Turkey. He calls for Abraham’s children to come together. He has publically stated Muslims will build the Jewish Temple along with Solomon’s palace. Oktar states the Temple will be rebuilt when global peace and tranquility are at hand.
June 14, 2017: Adnan Oktar hosted a Ramadan celebration in Istanbul, Turkey. Peoples of different culture and religions were invited.
Guests included Jewish rabbis; Christian priests; politicians; members of the Turkish Assyrian, Armenian, Jewish, Greek Orthodox and Catholic communities; Jaffari, Alawite and Bekhtashi communities; orders of the Nakshibendi and the Kadiri; followers of the Treatise of Light (Nur), and National Vision Movement (Milli Görüş).
The idea was to come together in an atmosphere of love and peace.
“People are more religious in Israel, that is a blessing for the entire region and the Islamic world. They are not aware that Jews are people of love. We all will be students of the King Moshiach, the King Messiah. The love for Moshiach brings blessings to Israel, this is a vital matter. God protects Israel from all troubles. If anyone attempts any harm against Israel, we will bring heavens down on them. God promised you to live on that land. You are a blessing for Muslims, but they can’t appreciate this,” Adnan Oktar.
Rabbi Yehuda Glick of the Israeli Knesset made the road trip to Istanbul. He offered kind words for the gathering hosted by Oktar.
“My dear friend, honorary Mr. Adnan Oktar, champion of religious tolerance, champion of love to all human beings, champion of God in the world…” -Yehuda Glick
Currently, the world is in conflict and escalating towards more military intervention on a greater scale. Humanity is not trending toward peace.
Let me be clear. I am not suggesting Adnan Oktar is the antichrist or the false prophet. But I am suggesting that any man who comes in peace is one to monitor closely. Somebody will emerge from this global mess and appear to have an answer for world peace.
After all, he seems reasonable. He seems like someone we can work with…
1 Thessalonians 5:3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
