Trend Update: Dead Fish/Revelation, January 2015

Revelation 8:8-9 The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Revelation 16:3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.

There is currently a trend around the world of mass amounts of aquatic life death. The following is from about 10 days of May 2014. These events are not local to a specific part of the world. It is occurring around the globe.

The point of this post is not to debate the cause of the phenomenon. Yes, human behavior is a likely consideration. The point is, this is occurring. The Book of Revelation says it is going to get worse during the seven year tribulation. The source of the ultimate cause is Heavenly.

Trend Update: Climate Change, November 2014

Job 38:22-23 “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of war and battle?”

The context of the verses above is God talking to Job. God is explaining to Job He is in charge of the weather. In Chapter 38 of Job, God is explaining He created the heavens and earth. God gives a brief lesson in astrophysics. He created the animals. He rules the geography of planet Earth.

The timeline is the midpoint of the Tribulation (Matthew 24). The antichrist has claimed to be the Messiah in the Temple. Jesus gives a hint of the possible weather and prayer request in Matthew 24:20. “But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.” See also Mark 13:14-18.

Look at the progressive phenomena in Revelation that takes place in regards to the intensity of the sun.

Revelation 8:12 The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.

Revelation 9:2 He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

More smoke is released in Revelation 9:18 A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.

The net result of more smoke being released is the sun’s rays will be blocked further. What happens if the sun is blocked? It is going to get colder. This is what happened when Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980. Mount Pinatubo (1991) in the Philippines produced ten times as much ash as Mount St. Helens. The result of all of the ash, steam, and chemicals being released into the air was global cooling.

Sulfur compounds in the atmosphere block out the light of the sun, cooling the Earth slightly. If sulfur compounds reach the stratosphere and are carried around the globe by winds, an eruption can mean violent and abrupt changes in the weather worldwide. Amos 5:20 Will not the day of the LORD be darkness instead of light, even gloom with no brightness in it?

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not flash forth their light; the sun will be dark when it rises and the moon will not shed its light.

Today, we have been conditioned by the media, politicians, and scientists to believe we are causing and changing the weather. The Bible has something different to say. Psalm 147:16-17 He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes. He casts forth His ice as fragments; who can stand before His cold? According to the Bible, the trend during the course of the Tribulation is colder weather.

If you believe we are trending toward the Tribulation, you have a choice to consider. The issue is the weather. Man, led by Al Gore, says we are in a period of global warning and it is going to get worse. God says things are going to cool off during the Tribulation.

Isaiah 11:3a The Smell of Obedience

Isaiah 11:3a And He will delight in the fear of the LORD…

The Hebrew text reads literally, “and his smelling is in the fear of the Lord.” (NET Bible).

Reyach is Hebrew for smell. The word is translated as “delight” by the NASB version. It can be translated as scent, fragrance, aroma, odor of soothing (technical term for sacrifice to God). Definition provided by Strong’s Concordance.

He, Jesus, will enjoy and desire to respect and revere the LORD as if it had a pleasant smell.

“Reyach” is the word used as God’s response to the sacrificial system in the Old Testament.

Numbers 15:7 and for the drink offering you shall offer one-third of a hin of wine as a soothing aroma to the LORD.

Leviticus 23:13 ‘Its grain offering shall then be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering by fire to the LORD for a soothing aroma, with its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine. This is a recipe for bread. God delights in the smell of baked bread. This aspect of the sacrificial system is also looking to the future. Notice the elements, bread and wine. The New Testament equivalent is Communion.

Animal sacrifices were required in the Old Testament to be a reminder of sin. These animal sacrifices upon a burning altar produced a soothing aroma to God. The smell of burning animals with spices, God likes the smell of grilled meat. The blood of these animals could not take away sin. But the blood of Jesus could. See Hebrews 10 for detail.

This same word “reyach” is used for “delight” in Amos 5:21 “I hate, I reject your festivals, nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies. Translation to the religious ones of the day, your religious actions stink. God does not care for performance religion. He wants your heart.

Our response to all of this is to pray. In the throne room of Heaven, prayers are equated with incense. Our prayers are a fragrant aroma to God. Revelation 8:3-4 Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. Prayers smell good to God and He likes them.

He, Jesus, will enjoy and desire to respect and revere the LORD as if it had a pleasant smell.

Revelation 8:10-11 Wormwood and Meteors

Revelation 8:10-11 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

This is the second event noted. The event takes place during the tribulation. God’s word leaves no doubt, this is a falling star. The star is described as a great star. The Greek word for great is mega. Again, this is a mega star. It is a huge, large object. This time it hits land and affects rivers and springs. Again, there is fire associated with the star as noted in verse 8-9 and as recently noted with the videos of the Russian meteor. These objects explode in midair.  Balls of fire with trails of smoke are visible for people to see. Parts of the star impact the rivers. Parts of the star are large enough to penetrate the earth’s crust and impact the water springs underground. In total, one third of the rivers and springs are affected.

Remember this book of Revelation was written by an old, elderly man, John, on the island of Patmos as a prisoner on a labor camp. He did not have the benefit of cable TV in the first century to see these events over and over. He did not have the benefit of the scientific community to explain what he saw. John had to take and believe God’s word. John’s written description looks exactly like what we have seen in February 2013 on TV, Youtube, or the Internet with our own eyes here in the 21st century.

The water supply of humanity is impacted by this mega falling star. According to multiple sources, less than 1% of all the water in the world is fresh water for human consumption. Pray this falling star does not impact the Great Lakes area. These lakes account for 84% of the fresh water in North America according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Wormwood is a bitter herb that was used to kill intestinal worms (NET Bible). The bitter star taints the water supply and people die.

Matthew 24:8 “But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs” –Jesus, Olivet Discourse.

We see and read the end result in Revelation. But these birth pangs have to start somewhere in time. Birth pangs have a beginning. They become more frequent and more intense as the time draws near. Have the birth pangs started???

Revelation 8:8-11 Mountain Sized Meteor

Revelation 8:8-11 The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

These events occur during the trumpet judgments of Revelation. It is a little over a third of the way through the tribulation judgments. There appears to be two separate events noted in these four verses. One of them impacts the sea. The other impacts the land. Both are very destructive.

The first is the “great mountain”. It is burning with fire. In light of the recent meteor that struck Russia, this is easy to visualize. There were multiple sources of video that showed a meteor exploding in the sky and leaving a trail of fire and smoke. This great mountain slams into the sea. Recent measurements indicate a meteor can hit the atmosphere at approximately 33,000-40,000 miles per hour. Imagine the momentum of this object. It is a simple physics equation, mass X velocity. This would create a destructive tsunami of massive proportions. Imagine the sound percussions and damage from the sonic boom of an object that size and subsequent objects that break apart.

Look at the data of the size of the meteor that struck Russia. It was estimated to be approximately 55 feet wide and weighed 10,000 tons. Remember the zinc factory destruction that occurred from a fragment of this meteor? Consider all of the damage done by the relatively small meteor that affected rural Russia. Windows were broken from sound waves. The blast was estimated to be approximately 500 kilotons (data provided by NASA). Over 1,000 people were injured.

Think of the size of the asteroid that recently passed by Earth and missed the same day as the meteor that hit Russia. That asteroid was half the size of a football field.

Now consider the size of the object in Revelation 8:8. It is described as a “great mountain”. There are two words in the original Greek that describe the object. Oros is Greek for mountain. The adjective is mega in the Greek which means great, huge, large, or immense. We use “mega” in front of words in English if we want to express the enormity of something. This is a mega mountain! The devastation is significant. One third of sea life destroyed. Imagine the sight and the stench. One third of all ships destroyed.

The event in Russia was a starter kit.
