Straight Talk, Tag You’re It!!! Featuring Rodna Epley

Rodna LightThe Kingdom of Heaven is a Family first, and then a Family Glory Business with an open-door policy allowing anyone in who agrees to put on proper shoes (Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.) and shirt (Matthew 22:11-12 But when the king came in to see the wedding guests, he saw a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But he had nothing to say.) to come and dine at the Father’s table where there is much laughter, joy, peace, healing, and life.

The world might call it: No Shoes, No Shirt – No Service

But our Father in heaven calls it: Here’s some clothes kids. Come on in. Dinner’s ready and I love you!

As we enter, we are assigned a private Tutor (the Holy Spirit again) who will show us the ropes. We get to pick what we want to do in the Family Glory Business. The Holy Spirit works with us in a type of tag-team intimate relationship where He assigns us a realm or a sandbox to play in. He gives us the Father’s tools that Jesus used. The Spirit teaches us how to use them in the world to help others, flipping all darkness into light, just like Jesus.

tag

Either one of us can tag first. We can start or we can let Him start, depending upon our level of confidence. We build what we can. When we don’t know what to do, we say, “Tag, you’re it Holy Spirit.” So, He takes a turn building. When He’s done, He says, “Tag, you’re it _______”.

We go back and forth with Him until our individual assignment in the Family is revealed and we know how to do things. If we make a mistake it is okay. We can just tear down that side of the sand castle and build it up stronger. Or crash the whole thing and start over.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

Straight Talk… Kingdom Dining Hall, Featuring Rodna Epley

Rodna LightThis morning I had a vision from the Lord: I saw a measuring scoop of protein powder. All of this came from that…

God doesn’t give out meal replacements, so there are no protein shakes in heaven. While the shaker cup, wire whisk, and protein powder may sound like a good idea on earth, in truth it only measures up to a watered-down version of a real meal in Heaven. Now I’m a fan of protein shakes so I can say this. Even when milk is used instead of water, the meal replacement will never taste like Filet Mignon. Neither will man’s religion ever come anywhere near tasting like real Food on the Father’s Table. white powder of whey protein

First, let me tell you a little about His Kingdom where The Father’s Presence (His glory) saturates and lights up the atmosphere through Christ with eternal power where all things are truly possible to anyone entering in… and then I want to tell you about the food!

Heaven Banquet

Most of us who are believers are just sitting barely inside the door to the kingdom. We are saved. We didn’t realize that we stopped just inside the door. No one told us that our Father has prepared an amazing never-ending meal that we can enjoy now. They did tell us we can enjoy it after we die. But Scripture tells us we can enjoy it now. We have an Usher (the Holy Spirit) who can show us the way to the table. He is much more than an Usher, but we don’t know how to receive Him, or work with Him, or hear His voice. God isn’t condemning us. He’s just saying we need to start learning. After 2,000 years it’s time to come up higher, for all of us. Our Father wants us to go “in and out”, to find our room in the mansion, be with Jesus where He is and learn to see through His eyes of glory.

John 17:24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

He wants us to come in and dine with Him at His table.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

John 14:23 Jesus answered him, if anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Come to Jesus. It will result in answered prayer, fulfilled dreams, and flipping all darkness into light… now on earth.

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.

Acts 10:38 …how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Revelation: Ephesus & Perserverance

Revelation 2:2-3 I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary.

Good news from Jesus Christ to the church or local body of believers at Ephesus. He is watching and He knows what is taking place.

Perseverance…This word is used twice in the verses above. Perseverance is the Greek word ηυπομονε/hupomone. Per Strong’s Concordance, it means: constancy, endurance; in the New Testament the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith by even the greatest trials and sufferings; patiently and steadfastly enduring.

The people at the church of Ephesus were focused grinders. The text tells us their work and life was difficult from the word for “toil”. It comes from the Greek κοποσ/kopos. It means: a beating of the breast with grief, sorrow; intense labor united with trouble.

…and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false…

False teachers…a topic believers are continually warned about throughout the Bible. Jesus Himself warned against these folks. Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Whatever the future holds will be off the charts in deception.

The New Testament letters of Galatians and 1 Thessalonians warn against false teachers. The Apostle John warns about the ultimate false teacher, the antichrist.

The church at Ephesus “put them to the test”. They had the attitude of the Berean Church. Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.

Were the false teachers telling the truth? Apparently not. False teachers are evil, wicked, and destructive.

What was the focus of the church at Ephesus? My name’s sake…The body of believers at Ephesus was focused on Jesus Christ.

These two verses are calls to believers in Jesus Christ today. We are to focus and work for the communication of the gospel of Christ regardless of the circumstances. We are called to persevere, stay vigilant, and focus.

Christians are called to guard against false teachers and verify with Scripture. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness. “All Scripture” includes the Old Testament. The Old Testament is buried treasure. It will reveal the New Testament to life in the person of Jesus Christ.

…and have not grown weary. Do not become κοπιαο/kopiao. Yes, we will grow weary, tired, and exhausted with toil, burdens and grief.

This personal message is given to us by Jesus is at the beginning of the book of Revelation. This message is one of the first things He tells the church. Difficult times are coming. Don’t quit. It is worth it in the end.

Resurrection Witnesses

Posted in Gospel, Isaiah with tags , , , , , , , , , on May 11, 2014 by paulthepoke

The Sadducees of Jesus’ day did not believe in the resurrection. Acts 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor an angel, nor a spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.  This reference in Acts is after Jesus rose from the dead. The Sadducees were around when the event took place. They saw and talked to witnesses who acknowledged the resurrection, and they still did not believe. Some people will not let facts or history get in the way of their beliefs or religion.

What does the Bible have to say about witnesses to resurrection events. There are multiple examples.

The first example would be the resurrection of Jesus Himself. What proof is there? Are there any witnesses to this event? The first witnesses were likely the Roman soldiers standing guard over the tomb. The religious leaders of the day were suspicious and pestered Pilate to the point where guards were appointed to stand at the tomb of Jesus. A Roman guard was usually four men. These men were skillfully trained military assassins. Here is what they saw. Matthew 28:2-4 And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. This would be an attention getter first thing in the morning.

Women saw Him at the tomb (Matthew 28:8-10).

Jesus was not the only person resurrected. After Jesus rose, there were others raised from the dead. They were alive again and walking around Jerusalem. They were seen by people in the city. Matthew 27:52-53 and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. I imagine this would promote a scene of chaos and fear.

Jesus showed up and was observed by more than 500 people at one time. 1 Corinthians 15:6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep…

Jesus also made appearances to the apostles as a group of eleven (John 20:26-31, Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-18). He made individual appearances to Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9-11, John 20:10-18), Peter (Luke 24:34, 1 Corinthians 15:5), and James (1 Corinthians 15:7). Jesus appeared to two travelers on the road in Mark 16:12-13 and Luke 24:13-35. Jesus was also viewed by many at His ascension into Heaven (Mark 16:19-20, Luke 24:44-49, Acts 1:3-8).

Is it likely 1,000 plus people conspired the story of resurrections and the story stuck?

At some point in the future (currently May 2014), two witnesses in Jerusalem will be left dead and unburied in the street. The world will rejoice and send gifts to others. They are finally dead. They will be on display, dead, to rot. They will not be allowed a proper burial. Revelation 11:11-12 But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. This event will convince many…

John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?

Isaiah 7:14 Born of a Virgin

Posted in Christmas, Isaiah with tags , , , , , , , , , , on December 16, 2012 by paulthepoke

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.

The message is straight forward and not confusing in the original Hebrew… the Lord Himself will give you a sign. The Hebrew word for “sign” is ‘owth. According to Strong’s Concordance the word means:  sign, signal, a distinguishing mark, banner, remembrance, miraculous sign, omen, warning, token, ensign, standard, miracle, or proof.

Virgin, this is the word where the debate is taking place. According To Strong’s Concordance the word means the following: virgin, young woman, of marriageable age, maid or newly married. The Hebrew word is almah. The word is generally translated as young woman or maiden.

The critic would argue that since this word is not translated “virgin” elsewhere and it does not literally mean “virgin”, that it is a reach to translate the word “virgin”.

70 Jewish translators and scholars of the Bible in the 3rd century B.C. translated the word “virgin” in Isaiah 7:14. This was before the birth of Jesus. One cannot accuse the scholars of translating to fit an agenda. The concept of a “virgin” conception/birth was made at least 200 years before the world even knew of Christ.

In Matthew 1:23, the apostle quotes Isaiah 7:14. He uses the word “virgin”. The fact that Mary is a “virgin” is restated in Matthew 1:25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus. The grammar of verse 25 in the Greek is indicative that Joseph did not have sex with Mary until after she gave birth to Jesus.

Previously in verses 18, 20, Matthew spells out that Joseph was aware Mary was pregnant prior to their marriage and she was a virgin.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

In Matthew 1:20, an angel communicates to Joseph that Mary has conceived from the Holy Spirit. Translation, she physically did not have sex and had not had sex prior to this event of conception.  But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

The name Immanuel means “God with us” or “with us is God” in the Hebrew.

In the final analysis, it does not matter what I think. It does not what anybody else thinks. What matters is what you think. Do you believe the Bible? Was a man, Jesus, who claimed to be God, born of a virgin?

Merry Christmas!
