Daniel 9:25b …there shall be seven weeks…

The context of this series of posts is the course of the Jewish people for the initial 49 years of the 483 year period communicated from the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel. The city of Jerusalem has been rebuilt post exile. These events are covered in Nehemiah 8-13. Israel is returning to God’s Law. The focus is on God’s appointed holidays. This week, the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur is the topic.

Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement is celebrated on Tishri 10th. It is the last day of the 40 day period of Teshuvah.

This holiday is viewed at the holiest day of Judaism. The day is a Sabbath day of rest. Yom Kippur is the only day a fast is required. The day begins at sun down. On the Day of Atonement, the high priest was kept awake during the dark of the night. The high priest was dressed in a white robe. Sacrifices of a bull, ram, and a goat occur. The priest makes a sacrifice for himself and for the nation of Israel. Yom Kippur is the day the high priest came into the inner sanctuary of the temple to make sacrifices on behalf of the nation of Israel. He is the only person allowed into the inner sanctuary. This day is the only day the high priest is allowed in the inner sanctuary. He entered the highest holy place with incense and coals. The incense was burned. Next, the recovered blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat, the top of the Ark of the Covenant. This is the busiest day of the year for the high priest.

See Leviticus 16 for specific details. New Manners and Customs of Bible Times

In the 21st century, we have a high priest.

Hebrews 6:20 …where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

~

Today, animal sacrifices are no longer necessary, even when the Jewish Temple is rebuilt.

Hebrews 9:11-14 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 13:11-12 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

~

Some believe this is the day at the end of the 7 year tribulation that Christ will physically return to Earth and establish His millennial kingdom.

Hebrews 9:28 …so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Featuring Paul Beverly

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. National Suicide Prevention Week is September 9-15, 2018, with World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10th.

suicide

September is suicide prevention month. Some of you know my story & why this is so close to my heart. I’ve lost friends to suicide. If not for God putting the vision of my children right in front of me, I was seconds away from taking this path. I hear others say that this is the coward’s way out. No, it’s Satan filling your head with self-doubt that you don’t matter anymore. That pain is so very unbearable & hard to take. It is worse than any physical pain ever felt.

Please be there for others going through hard times.  Show them that they matter. Show them you care & love them. Tell them about God’s love. Get them with a Pastor or counselor trained in helping these situations. Get them with me even. I wish every school & church would have programs about this.

Treat everyone with kindness & love because every life matters.

Don’t miss the opportunity to help others, it’s a blessing for them & you.

Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good & share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Have a helping month my friends!!!

We are meant to want to see others succeed & to help them do as much when needed, not to be self serving. We will all have ups & downs & a helping hand to lift us up & help push us will always be needed. Be the kind of friend that you would want in your life. By giving, you will be rewarded. Let’s help each other succeed.

In all you do, do it in kindness & love. Our communities & world need a lot more of this.

Millennial Kingdom: Massive Crops

Posted in Millennial Kingdom, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 7, 2016 by paulthepoke

Amos 9:13 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “When the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; when the mountains will drip sweet wine and all the hills will be dissolved.

This verse is in reference to the agricultural cycle in Israel. It speaks to the volume of workers necessary to manage the harvest of crops.

When the plowman will overtake the reaper… In Israel, plowing and tilling of the ground takes place in October and November. The harvest of the grain crops occurs in April and May. The point is the bounty of the crops. Grain will be so plentiful, the reapers will take all summer to harvest. It will be time to work the ground again before the harvest is finished.

…the treader of grapes him who sows seed…To make juice and wine, workers stomped on the grapes in bare feet to crush. It is going to take a lot of folks to manage the volume of grapes. The grape harvest occurs in August and September. Planting is done in November and December. The number of clusters will be ridiculous. The workers who stomp grapes for juice will still be working until November and December.

…when the mountains will drip sweet wine and all the hills will be dissolved. The idea is the grape juice and wine will be so abundant the hills will melt.

The man in charge during the Millennial Kingdom who will oversee the volumes of grape juice has a history of generosity when it comes to wine.

Bumper crops will be year around whether it is grain or fruit.

Agricultural cycles and related information provided by NET Bible.

John 2:6 Now there were six stone water pots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each. So there were 120-180 gallons of water…

John 2:9-10 When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom, and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.”

Jesus serves and gives freely and abundantly to all. He always gives His best. He does not hold back. It does not matter if one is rich or poor. Christ has done it in the past. He continues in the present. And Yeshua will do it again in the future.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
