This Week in Prophecy: Gaza Strip, Israel’s 75th, Magog’s Gang, Pacific Theater

As usual, the rocket exchange between the Palestinians and the Israelis is all about perspective.

The events appear to be initiated by the death of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Khader Adnan. He was on a hunger strike for 86 days. Adnan was arrested in Israel on terrorism charges. When it was announced he died, four rockets were launched from Gaza. Israel responded. Then the two sides exchanged volleys.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi flew to Damascus to meet Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Syria was widely shunned by Arab governments over Assad’s brutal crackdown on protesters and the breakdown in relations culminated with Syria being ousted from the Arab League in 2011. The conflict has since killed nearly half a million people and displaced half of Syria’s pre-war population of 23 million. -Times of Israel

Somebody flew a drone into the Kremlin. Nobody is claiming is responsibility. Zelensky in Ukraine is denying responsibility. Russia is stating this is a terrorist attack and an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin.

Some are suggesting a false flag by the Russians.

Israel, Egypt, and European Union Sign Historic Gas Deal

In early October 2015, Israel discovered a vast oil deposit in the Golan Heights region north of the Sea of Galilee. The coast of Israel is home to two tremendous areas of natural gas. The Leviathan oil and gas basin in the Mediterranean Sea is believed to hold 1.7 billion barrels of oil. The basin also holds an estimated 122 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (Noble Energy, U.S. Geological Survey). A second oil and natural gas basin is the Tamar. It is estimated to hold 7.9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (Noble Energy). In June of 2022, a third major basin is emerging, the Karish gas field.

Cairo, Egypt, June 16, 2022: Israel, Egypt, and the European Union have signed a historic gas deal. The document has gas deliveries to Europe until 2050. Under the plan, Israeli gas will be transported by pipeline to Egypt’s Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) terminal on the Mediterranean Sea. Then, LNG will be transported by ship to Europe.

The deal should bring 1 Billion shekels or $290 million dollars to the Israeli government.

Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tarek el-Molla indicated the agreement should result in more economic cooperation between members of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, which comprises Jordan, Israel, Cyprus, Greece, Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, France and Italy.

Europe now has existing gas deals with Israel, the United States, and Qatar.

“The memorandum of understanding will allow Israel to export Israeli natural gas to Europe for the first time, and it is even more impressive when one looks at the string of significant agreements we have signed in the past year, positioning Israel and the Israeli energy and water economy as a key player in the world,” Israeli Energy Minister Karine Elharrar.

The European Union receives approximately 40% of its natural gas from Russia.

“The Kremlin has used our dependency on Russian fossil fuels to blackmail us. Since the beginning of the war, Russia has deliberately cut off its gas supplies to Poland, Bulgaria and Finland, and Dutch and Danish companies, in retaliation for our support to Ukraine,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

As this deal was being signed, Russia via Gazprom closed the spigot of natural gas by 15% to Italy on the same day. An explanation was not given. Italy receives 40% of its gas from Russia.

Gazprom also cut delivery of natural gas to Germany by 40%. Equipment repairs were needed, allegedly.

Ezekiel 38:12 to capture spoil and to seize plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the center of the world.

…to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited… This is an accurate description of the land of Israel prior to their return to the land in the early 20th century. The land was known as chorbah in the Hebrew. Per Strong’s it means: a place laid waste, ruin, waste, desolation, or a desert.

… and against the people who are gathered from the nations… From the Balfour Declaration in 1917, the rebirth of a nation in 1948, to reclaiming Jerusalem as its capital in 1967, Jews have been returning to their land to the present day.

… who have acquired cattle and goods… Cows from Israel are noted to be the most productive in the world when it comes to milk. Cows are constantly monitored and under intense observation. Data is taken intently from a variety of perspectives.

… who live at the center of the world. This is God’s view of the nation Israel. This is where His people live. The geography of the nation is “the center of the world”.

Russia and Ukraine, February 9, 2022… Czekmate’s Operational Analysis & Commentary

#Ukraine Armed Forces Are Preparing “Offensive operations” against the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and “Ukrainian propagandists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prepared and distributed on the Internet staged video materials aimed at discrediting the defenders of Donbass,” Says the official rep of the DPR army Eduard Basurin.

Czekmate Comment: Statements such as these, from separatist leaders in Ukraine and elsewhere are an important marker. I posted the story about the Gaguz in Moldova earlier today because Interfax went to pains to re-publish it in English. Casus beli for Russia to launch operations may be forming based on what you see from these movements. The economic and strategic arguments for why Russia is doing this renders these separatist instigations a phony pretext. So one ought to consider ‘big talk’ from these movements as Kremlin directed theater.

So here may be the Russian lie to launch an operation. An intervention force to restore order and humanitarian conditions in the Russophone separatist regions. Over the past 24 hours (As noted here in Czekmate) the Russian Foreign Ministry seems to have made its diplomatic themes involving the “Minsk Agreement” (Diplomatic protocol on the separatist regions of Ukraine) much more uniform. It is borne out in statements by the Russian Ambassadors to the UN and Berlin. Concurrently, separatist leaders have been making their ill-ease with their ostensible governments more plain. This is also noted in this ValorTube group.

In the past 12 hours, Russian Naval Assets have arrived in the Black Sea with more in the eastern and western Mediterranean appearing to prepare to rendezvous at sea. To arrive in force with optimal mass, the ships in question will need to continue at high speed. In the mean time, exercise areas in the black Sea have been notified to international authorities for ships and aircraft in the area. The end of these Black Sea exercises nearly coincides (19 Feb.) with the conclusions of Russian/Belarussian exercises in Belarus (20 Feb.). The same day as the ending of the Olympics.

Also announced Tuesday by Interfax – English language service, is a ‘multiweek’ exercise involving a small number of Russian Troopers in the Southern Military District. These areas are the historically restive regions of ‘Adygea, Chechnya, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and Ingushetia, as well as at Russian military bases in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.’ The later two being in Georgian territory. There can be little doubt that this is to send a message to Russia’s neighbors and any localized trouble makers that Moscow is in no mood to be messed with. These forces utilizing full equipment and presumably wartime levels of logistics, ought to be viewed more as a military constabulary among the regions where Russia has stoked previous separatist sentiment.

As before, Russia appears to be ready to go at any time should they so desire.

Again, the Olympics do not close until the 20th. As mused by your faithful Czekmate before, one wonders what agreements were struck between the two autocrats. The Beijing games are not garnering the kind of success and flash the Chinese apparatchiks envisioned. But the PRC has no shortage of national hubris and may have insisted on having the international airwaves to themselves.

Maximum lunar illumination will be on February 16th, and based on social media, it does not appear that the ground is frozen. As it stands, this would slow but not stymie an advance of an army. Add to that, rumors persist of rampant illness among the Russian frontline units along the Ukrainian frontier. Each one of these factors can be overcome, but each one comes at some kind of cost. These costs have to be considered in light of mission objectives and benefits in relation to other issues.

The decision appears to be in the hands of one man, as it has largely been since this saga began to unfold on January 20th, 2021: Vladimir Putin.
