Kansas City Trafficking Initiative, Christine’s Place

Relentless Pursuit presents Christine’s Place. Our Drop In Center and Crisis Shelter will be located at 5102 Independence Avenue in Kansas City, MO.

Our Drop In Center will be a safe, non judgmental place for prostituted people from all backgrounds and races.

We will provide for their basic needs: hot meals, showers, hygiene supplies, access to washers and dryers for laundry, clean clothes from our clothing closet, and access to health care support.

We will provide: someone to talk to for mental health needs, help in finding shelter or investigate housing options, connect with job search and employment assistance, access to computers, phones, and mail.

Our crisis center will be a safe haven for individuals recovering from trafficking situations by law enforcement.

We will assist in the stabilization to the point of transitional housing or long term residential sheltering.

His Abiding Faithfulness… Joshua of Ghana

TEXT: ISAIAH 40:1-11

Isaiah 40:11 “He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”

The story was told of a saint who died and eventually got to heaven in spite of the turbulent Christian life. On arrival in heaven, he engaged our Lord Jesus Christ in a conversation. He showed him in a panoramic flashback, his Christian pilgrimage on earth immediately he became born again. His Christian life was illustrated by footprints of two pairs of feet (his and Jesus Christ’s) on a sandy shore. They both traced the marks of the pairs of feet and got to a place where there was only a pair of feet, instead of two; the other pair had disappeared. The man became curious.

Tracing the history of his life, he realized that that time coincided with the period he faced the greatest challenges to his Christian faith. He was dejected and wondered aloud, “My Savior, it appears you abandoned me during the period of my greatest travail. I could see only one pair of feet.”

To which Jesus Christ replied, “No, that pair of feet were not yours but mine.”

“Then where was I?” He wondered. “I was carrying you in my arms,” was Jesus’ reply.

The passage today is the affirmation of comfort and promise of assistance to God’s people. When Jesus Christ left the glory of the Father in heaven to come to the earth, He was armed with a job description (Luke 4:18). He was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor (in spirit), to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, the recovering of sight to the blind and to set at liberty those that are bruised.

Though He has gone to be with the Father, He still performs such functions to the redeemed today. And you can always be a partaker of glorious blessings if only you will dare submit to the majesty of His will.

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:* God’s faithfulness and kindness are matchless and unsearchable.

Light Shine… Paul Beverly

President Trump Transferred to Walter Reed Medical… Sukkot/Tabernacles 5781/2020

Deuteronomy 16:13 You shall keep the Feast of Booths seven days, when you have gathered in the produce from your threshing floor and your winepress.

In October 2020, The Feast is scheduled to start on October 2 at sun down and run through October 9 sun down on our Gregorian calendar.

Trump was transferred and admitted to Walter Reed Hospital just before Tabernacles/Sukkot began. Some may say this is a coincidence. Some may not. Your call.

Sukkot/Tabernacles 5781/2020

Leviticus 23:33-36 Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD. On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.’”

This is the last of God’s appointed feasts or festivals. This holiday is known by many names. It is called the Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, the Festival of Tents, or the Feast of the Harvest because it is after the harvest in the fall. Simply put, it is also called “the feast” or “the festival”.

This festival is a week-long festival from Tishri 15 to 21. When working in the fields during harvest, people lived in tents. The tents served as a reminder of the forty years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt. The holiday is a reminder of the provision and safety God showed Israel during their travels in the desert as noted in Deuteronomy 8. The feast is a thanksgiving for the harvest of grapes (Exodus 23:16). It is to be a joyous festival (Deuteronomy 16:14). Sabbatical rest without work is part of the holiday. (New Manners and Customs of Bible Times).

In October 2020, The Feast is scheduled to start on October 2 at sun down and run through October 9 sun down on our Gregorian calendar. In God’s timing, The Festival is scheduled to start on Tishri 15-21. Tishri 1 is declared when the new moon is sighted.

Remember man’s calendars and God’s day planner may not be on the same page. In fact, they are not…

It is God’s desire to live with humanity.

We mostly think about when God comes to Earth to dwell with us. Jesus lived with humanity 2,000 years ago (Gospel Accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). The Holy Spirit has indwelled in believers since the beginning of the church in Acts 2. Christ has promised to return to Earth and reign for 1,000 years (Revelation 20). Eventually, God the Father will tabernacle with His creation on Earth in Revelation 21.
