Happy Thanksgiving 2025

Exodus 23:16b …And keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather your produce from the field.

Thanksgiving is a theme embedded throughout the Bible and across time. The ultimate expression of Thanksgiving is Communion and what Christ did for us. Communion is a memorial of thanks. Even Jesus is giving thanks to God the Father as He is about to become the expression of sacrifice.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

Prior to Communion was the sacrificial system of the Old Testament. Specifically, we are going to look at the Fall Feast of Tabernacles or the Feast of Ingathering.

This festival is a week-long festival from Tishri 15 to 21. When working in the fields during harvest, people lived in tents. The tents served as a reminder of the forty years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt. The holiday is a reminder of the provision and safety God showed Israel during their travels in the desert as noted in Deuteronomy 8. It is to be a joyous festival (Deuteronomy 16:14). Sabbatical rest without work is part of the holiday. (New Manners and Customs of Bible Times).

Three times a year, the men were required to come to Jerusalem and come before the Lord with a sacrifice. They were to bring their best.

All that said, many scholars believe the Pilgrims of the Mayflower patterned their first Thanksgiving after the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall. Legend has it the Pilgrims celebrated their successful harvest in the fall and gave thanks to God.

Zechariah 14:16-19 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no  rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

Per Zechariah 14, the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles is the only God appointed holiday gentile nations will be required to attend. The nations will be required to go before the Lord Jesus Christ during the Feast of Booths. For those nations who do not attend, no rain for your crops.

The Bible also promises an incredible feast and other gifts of Thanksgiving to all people at some point in the future.

Isaiah 25:6-8 On this mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat, of finely aged wine. On this mountain He will swallow up the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; He will swallow up death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of His people from the whole earth.

God has a plan and we have so much to be thankful for with incredible gratitude.

God’s Fall Appointments are the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. It’s that time of the year and the Feasts are approaching.

Below is a brief 10 minute video that provides a framework for God’s fall appointed holidays. The video is compliments of T.W. Tramm. Check out his writings and his work in the links below. Facebook continues to remove his articles regarding the rapture. T.W. is always thought provoking and backs his writing with Scriptural evidence. Tramm does his homework.

Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

The beginning of the Jewish civil new year is upon us within the next week. This is the Hebrew month of Tishri. It will be the Hebrew year 5786 on a traditional and secular calendar. The date for Yom Teruah is calculated to be near sunset Monday, September 22nd. Some will confirm the new year with the sighting of the new moon. The new year begins when the new moon is confirmed by two witnesses. The traditional Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar.

As the Essenes mark time, the month of Tishri begins on Wednesday, September 17. The Essenes celebrate their New Year in the spring with the beginning of Nisan or Abib per Exodus 12:2. This calendar is a solar calendar.

Check out Ken Johnson’s Essene calendar work at https://dsscalendar.org/

Yom Teruah ends two days later.

The first fall holiday has many names. It is called the Feast of Trumpets by Christians. It is recognized as the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Some refer to it as the “Hidden Day” or the “Wedding of the Messiah”. In Judaism, it is called Yom Teruah which means the “Day of Blowing”.

The second fall holiday is the Day of Atonement. See Leviticus 16. Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement is celebrated on Tishri 10th. It is the last day of the 40 day period of Teshuvah or repent in the Hebrew. This holiday is viewed at the holiest day of Judaism. The day is a Sabbath day of rest. Yom Kippur is the only day a fast is required. The day begins at sun down. This is the busiest day of the year for the high priest with multiple animal sacrifices.

The beginning for the Day of Atonement in 2024 is calculated at sundown Wednesday, October 1st and ends the next day, Thursday evening, October 2nd. This date could be determined by the confirmation of the new moon 10 days earlier. The Essenes mark the date as Friday, September 26th through the next day.

Leviticus 23:33-36 Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD. On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.’”

The third and last fall holiday on God’s calendar is Tabernacles. It is also called Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, the Festival of Tents, or the Feast of the Harvest because it was after the harvest in the fall. Simply put, it was also called “the Feast” or “the Festival”. This festival is a week-long festival from Tishri 15 to 21 on a Hebrew calendar.

On our western Gregorian calendar, in 2025, the Feast of Tabernacles will be observed from about Monday, October 6th to Monday, October 13th. Or, pending the new moon confirmed at the beginning of the Hebrew month of Tishri.

This year, the Essenes mark the beginning of Tabernacles on Wednesday, October 1st (which happens to be the day the secular calendar calculates the onset of Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement) and runs through Tuesday, October 7th. The last and Great Day occurs on Wednesday, October 8th.

Isaiah 12: Jesus and the Water of Life

There are seven God appointed holidays communicated through the Mosaic Law. The first four in the Spring were fulfilled to the day by Jesus Himself with His death, burial, resurrection, and the giving of the Holy Spirit. If the first four Spring holidays were fulfilled by Jesus on the God appointed holidays, why would the Fall holidays be any different?

Mark 13:32-33 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come…”

It is easy to see why the verse above is true with all the calendar confusion. The post has covered 4 different time keeping systems for marking God’s Appointments. Ultimately, the question is how does God mark time?

Jesus is coming again…

Sukkot is coming to an end this week at sunset on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. This holiday is known by many names. It has been a busy week around the globe during the Feast of Tabernacles. Here’s what is happening.

“Hamas” is the Hebrew word for “violence”.

The context of Ezekiel 7 is judgment on the land of Israel. Judgment is being rendered against violence or “hamas“.

Ezekiel 7:11 Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them.

Ezekiel 7:23 Forge a chain! For the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence.

Ezekiel 7:25 When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none.

Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar has been martyred. Elements of Hamas are beginning to surrender in Gaza.

The stated purpose of this death ritual is to “cast off notions of guilt, shame and mental discomfort” associated with the extermination of innocent life and to altogether affirm the choice.

“TST’s abortion ritual can be performed to address definable concerns or to overcome unproductive feelings. The ritual, which includes the abortion itself, spans the entirety of the pregnancy termination procedure. There are steps to be performed before, during, and after the medical or surgical abortion.”

On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.’”

The seven day holiday was initiated at sunset on Friday, September 29, 2023 and runs through Saturday, October 07, 2023. On God’s calendar, The Festival is scheduled to start on Tishri 15-21.

Sukkot is one of the three Festivals where Israelites are commanded to make the road trip to the Temple in Jerusalem.

Exodus 23:14-17 Three times in the year you shall keep a feast to me. You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. As I commanded you, you shall eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. None shall appear before me empty-handed. You shall keep the Feast of Harvest, of the firstfruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. You shall keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruit of your labor. Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord God. See also Exodus 34:23-24.

We mostly think about when God comes to Earth to dwell with us. Jesus lived with humanity 2,000 years ago (Gospel Accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). The Holy Spirit has indwelled in believers since the beginning of the church in Acts 2. Christ has promised to return to Earth and reign for 1,000 years (Revelation 20). Eventually, God the Father will tabernacle with His creation on Earth in Revelation 21.

John 19:40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen wrappings with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. (possibly the Shroud of Turin)

Of note, Scripture makes it clear the burial cloth and the head wrapping are separate.

John 20:7 and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings but folded up in a place by itself. (possibly Sudarium of Oviedo)

Not that it really matters what Jesus looks like… But according to Artificial Intelligence (AI) software processing of the Shroud of Turin, here is the rendering.

September 29, 2023, Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said relations between Russia and South Sudan were developing “intensively”. Speaking at a meeting with the South Sudan President Salva Kiir in Moscow, Putin noted Russia was one of the first countries to recognise the sovereignty and independence of South Sudan.

“I must say we believe that we have a lot to do, primarily in the area of economic development,” Putin added.

Kiir said he was happy for the warm welcome and stressed that he was in Moscow “as an opening for our long work in the future.”

South Sudan was one of the African countries present at the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg.

The meeting took place as Kremlin seeks more allies amid the military campaign in Ukraine.

Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences

September 30, 2023, Punjab Province, Pakistan: A massive outbreak of conjunctivitis or Pink Eye is spreading.

Pink Eye or Conjunctivitis is an irritation or inflammation of the conjunctiva, which covers the white part of the eyeball. It can be caused by allergies or a bacterial or viral infection. Conjunctivitis can be extremely contagious, and is spread by contact with eye secretions from someone who is infected.

Symptoms include redness, itching, and tearing of the eyes. It can also lead to discharge or crusting around the eyes.

It’s important to stop wearing contact lenses while affected by conjunctivitis. It often resolves on its own, but treatment can speed the recovery process. Allergic conjunctivitis can be treated with antihistamines. Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated with antibiotic eye drops.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pink-eye/symptoms-causes/syc-20376355

  • The provincial health department says 394,795 cases of the eye infection have so far been reported in all 36 districts of Punjab
  • Interim health minister assures the public the government is making active efforts to control infectious diseases in Pakistan

Schools have been closed for 4 days in an attempt to stop the spread of Pink Eye.

“The scourge of dengue virus and eye infection will be controlled through collective efforts and coordinated strategy and though it is a difficult task but still achievable,” Nadeem Jan, Pakistan’s Interim Health Minister.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan news agency, Jan assured the public the government was actively implementing effective measures to control disease outbreaks in the country, adding that a committee of experts had been assembled to comprehensively address the matter.

Personally, I would recommend all healthcare professionals in Pakistan utilize Universal Precautions and start by the washing of hands and wearing latex gloves. One of set of gloves per patient is recommended. Please don’t rub your eyes. Please refer to link above from Mayo Clinic.

The beginning of the Jewish civil new year is upon us within the next couple of weeks. This is the Hebrew month of Tishri. It will be the Hebrew year 5784.

Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

The date for Yom Teruah is calculated to be near sunset Friday, September 15th or possibly a couple of days later (traditional Gregorian calendar). This date is confirmed pending the sighting of the new moon. The new year begins when the new moon is confirmed by two witnesses. Yom Teruah ends two days later. The confirmation of the new moon will ultimately determine the dates of the subsequent fall appointments.

The fundamental difference in determining the new moon is simple. 21st century, modern day man calculates the new moon. The new moon is determined when there is actually no moon at all to be observed in the sky. The moon is occluded by the earth and the sun is unable to shed its light on the heavenly object.

In ancient Biblical days, the new moon was determined when the crescent sliver of the new moon was observed. The crescent moon was seen in the sky.

When working in the fields during harvest, people lived in tents. The tents served as a reminder of the forty years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt. The holiday is a reminder of the provision and safety God showed Israel during their travels in the desert as noted in Deuteronomy 8. The feast is a thanksgiving for the harvest of grapes (Exodus 23:16). It is to be a joyous festival (Deuteronomy 16:14). Sabbatical rest without work is part of the holiday. (New Manners and Customs of Bible Times).

This is the last of God’s appointed feasts or festivals. This holiday is known by many names. It is called the Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, the Festival of Tents, or the Feast of the Harvest because it is after the harvest in the fall. Simply put, it is also called “the feast” or “the festival”.

The new moon was identified in Israel on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022. Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles/15th Day of the 7th Month is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 11th at sunset. As calculated by modern man, Tabernacles is scheduled to begin on sunset Sunday, October 9th through Sunday, October 16th, 2022.

Tishri is the seventh month on a Hebrew calendar. This festival is a week-long festival from Tishri 15 to 21.

Tabernacles is the last of three festivals where men are required to make a road trip to Jerusalem and go to the Temple.

Per Zechariah 14:16-19, the Feast of Booths is the only God appointed holiday gentile nations will be required to attend. The nations will be required to go before the Lord Jesus Christ during the Feast of Booths. For those nations who do not attend, no rain for your crops.

Zechariah 14:16-19 Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, then the rain will not fall on them. And if the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

God’s Fall Appointments, 5783/2022

God’s fall appointments are the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

Below is a brief 10 minute video that provides a framework for God’s fall appointed holidays. The video is compliments of T.W. Tramm. Check out his writings and his work. T.W. is always thought provoking.

Attention, there is not consensus in regards to the starting of the Fall Feasts. Humanity and their calculations instead of God’s instruction of observation are the issues. Broken sinners cannot follow God’s directions.

Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

See also Leviticus 23:23-25.

This is the beginning of the civil new year. This is the Hebrew month of Tishri. It will be the Hebrew year 5783.

The date for Yom Teruah is sunset near Sunday, September 25th or possibly a couple of days later (traditional Gregorian calendar). This date is confirmed pending the sighting of the new moon. The new year begins when the new moon is confirmed by two witnesses. Yom Teruah ends two days later. The confirmation of the new moon will ultimately determine the dates of the subsequent fall appointments.

The beginning for the Day of Atonement in 2022 is Tuesday, October 4th or Wednesday, October 5th at sun down. This date is ultimately determined by the confirmation of the new moon 10 days earlier.

On our western Gregorian calendar, in 2022, the Feast of Tabernacles will be observed from about Sunday, October 9th to Sunday, October 16th, again pending the new moon confirmed at the beginning of the Hebrew month of Tishri. The joyous “festival” ends seven days later.

There are seven God appointed holidays communicated through the Mosaic Law. The first four were fulfilled to the day by Jesus Himself with His death, burial, resurrection, and the giving of the Holy Spirit. If the first four spring holidays were fulfilled on the God appointed holiday, why would the fall holidays be any different?

Jesus is coming again…

Are you ready???

Attention, there is not consensus in regards to the starting of the Fall Feasts. Depending on the calculations of the specific group, the Appointments could start as early as September 6 or as late as October 8 as well as points in between.

There Shall Be Seven Weeks: Feasts (Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot/Booths)

Posted in #PaulthePoke, Angels, Fall Feasts, Prophecy with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 22, 2021 by paulthepoke

Daniel 9:25b …there shall be seven weeks…

The context of this series of posts is the course of the Jewish people for the initial 49 years of the 483 year period communicated from the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel. The city of Jerusalem has been rebuilt post exile. These events are covered in Nehemiah 8-13. Israel is returning to God’s Law. The focus is on God’s appointed holidays. This week, the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot is the topic.

This is the last of God’s appointed feasts or festivals. This holiday is known by many names. It is called the Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, the Feast of Booths, the Festival of Tents, or the Feast of the Harvest because it was after the harvest in the fall. Simply put, it was also called “the feast” or “the festival”.

The feast is a thanksgiving for the harvest of grapes (Exodus 23:16). It is to be a joyous festival (Deuteronomy 16:14). Sabbatical rest without work is part of the holiday. (New Manners and Customs of Bible Times).

Jews sing Isaiah 12:3 Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation, during Sukkot. The feast is a reminder to the Jewish people they lived in tents after the Exodus from Egypt. In addition, the Feast of Tabernacles requires sacrifices of sin offerings and burnt offerings. At the time of preparation for the morning sacrifice, a priest descends to the Pool of Siloam amidst great music, celebration, and singing of Isaiah 12:3, and fills a golden pitcher with water. After dipping his pitcher in Siloam’s water, the priest returns to the Temple Mount and pours the water into one of the silver basins by the altar (Wayne Stiles, Insight for Living).

All three members of the Trinity will dwell with humanity. Isaiah 12 refers to the promise of the Holy Spirit and the reign of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was given to believers of Christ at Pentecost (Acts 2) and ushered in the Church Age. He will return on the Mount of Olives with an earthquake.

Zechariah 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.

Revelation 19 has Jesus returning to Earth to initiate his 1,000 year reign and He will live with humanity.

The ultimate expression of “the feast” after the Millennial Kingdom is with God and the New Jerusalem.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them…

And He is going to live and dwell with us, forever…
