Turkey Debt Problems

Magog was a son of Japheth. Genesis 10:2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. Japheth was the son of Noah. The sons of Japheth were born after the flood (Genesis 10:1).

The Bible and ancient historians point to the fact the land of Magog is modern day Russia. See attached post.

But what about the brothers of Magog? They include Gomer, Meshech, and Tubal.

Gomer means “complete”. Historians through the ages debate whether they lived north or south of the Black Sea. North of the Black Sea is modern day Russia. South of the Black Sea is modern day Turkey.

Meshech means “drawing out”; a people on the borders of Colchis (the land area east of the Black Sea). Armenia is effectively modern day eastern Turkey. Today, the region of Meshech is modern day Turkey, Russia, and Georgia.

Tubal means “thou shall be brought”; a region in east Asia Minor (modern day Eastern Turkey).

Beth Togarmah: Beth is Hebrew for house. Togarmah means “thou will break her”.  People consider this to be Armenia. At its peak, the Armenian Empire was from modern day Syria on the Mediterranean Sea to south of the Black Sea and east to the Caspian Sea. Historically, Turkey is also known as the House of Togarmah.

The brothers of Magog (Meshech, Gomer, and Tubal) appear to point to modern day Turkey.

Russia will be joined by several countries in their future invasion of Israel (Ezekiel 38-39). One of those countries is modern day Turkey.

Trend Update: Recep Erdogan Wins Re-Election in Turkey, June 2018

According to the prophet Ezekiel, Russia will be joined by several countries in their future invasion of Israel. One of those countries is modern day Turkey. Scripture says Turkey is a player in the Ezekiel 38-39 scenario, the Gog and Magog War and invasion of Israel. The brothers of Magog (Meshech, Tubal, Gomer and his son Togarmah) appear to point to modern day Turkey.

June 25, 2018: Turkey’s Recep Erdogan was re elected to four more years as President. This should come as no surprise. Erdogan called for the elections a couple of months ago. He was not calling for an election and expecting to lose. As a result of the victory, Erdogan’s power has broadened and increased. The president declared the big winner was the people of Turkey.

 

Recep Erdogan will be in power four more years until 2022 without further elections. Erdogan now has the authority to do away with the position of Prime Minister. He can dissolve parliament if needed. The president can make changes at the central bank and affect economic policy. He controls the political party’s bloc in parliament. Erdogan effectively can not be prosecuted. The opposing party has essentially no path to impeachment.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Erdogan on his victory.

“The head of the Russian state stressed that the outcome of the vote fully confirms Erdogan’s great political authority, broad support of the course pursued under his leadership towards solving vital social and economic tasks facing Turkey, and enhancing the country’s foreign policy positions.”

Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan has never liked the idea of the Kurdish people. He considers them to be terrorists. He vows to take out the “terrorist corridor” along Turkey’s southern border.

With Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkey crossed the Syrian border and drove a wedge in the area occupied by the Kurds. The plan to remove the Kurds from the region west of the Euphrates River began in earnest in the summer of 2017.

Operation Olive Branch was launched in February 2018. In a little over one month, the Turks now control northwest Syria and the Kurdish stronghold area of Afrin. Remember, this is happening in the country of Syria.

Our special units and members of the Free Syrian Army are cleaning up the remains of the sword and the traps they left behind.”

Vladimir Putin was recently reelected to serve again as Russian president. Putin garnered 76% of the vote. His closest rival Alexei Navalny was barred from participating due to alleged embezzlement charges. Also, it should be noted that alleged voter irregularities will be fully investigated.

With Erdogan’s reelection in April of 2017, he potentially can remain in power in Turkey until 2029. Putin’s recent election win allows him a second six-year term to remain in power in Russia until 2024. Putin and Erdogan both have political capital with their recent election wins. They are and will continue to spend their capital.

And the military build continues towards Israel. Fulfilled prophecy awaits.

Trend Update: Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch, February 2018

Jeremiah 49:23 Concerning Damascus. “Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard bad news; they are disheartened. There is anxiety by the sea, it cannot be calmed.

Arpad: The name means “I will be spread out.” Per Ellicott’s Commentary, the modern-day location is approximately 14 miles north of Aleppo, Syria. The city is effectively on the Turkey border. Scholars believe the modern-day city is Tel Erfad, Syria (Barnes Notes on the Bible).

February 2018: President Recep Erdogan of Turkey has launched Operation Olive Branch. Turkey is looking to rid the region of terrorism. Turkey has crossed into northern Syria to do their bidding. The object of the operation is the Kurdish population. Turkey has indicated they prefer the Kurds east of the Euphrates River.

“One of our helicopters was downed just recently. These things will happen, we are in a war. (We) might lose a helicopter. (They) pay a heavy price.”

Erdogan is looking to expand further to the south in Syria. He is not finished in Afrin.

“We want our Syrian brothers and sisters to return to their land, and now we want to do the same in Idlib what we have done in Afrin.”

Turkish fighter jets are being seen all over the Afrin region.

Turkey has at least 3 observation posts west of Aleppo. Two other posts are located south of Aleppo towards Hamah.

Multiple posts on social media have indicated video of Turkish convoys in the Idlib region in and around Saraqib.

Turkey is moving south into Syria towards Israel.

January 2018: Turkey is quietly building a naval presence on the Red Sea. The Turks and the Sudanese have inked a deal.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proclaimed Turkey has been given access to the Suakin Island from Sudan. The island is effectively across the Red Sea from Mecca, Saudia Arabia. Historically, Turkey is no stranger to the area. The Suakin Island has ties to the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century. The island was the capital of the Habes Province.

Turkey will manage and rebuild infrastructure. The agreement is open ended in regards to time. Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour indicated military and security cooperation are part of the agreement. With the treaty, Turkey now has access to other ports in Sudan.

The military commanders in chief of Turkey, Qatar, and Sudan met at the signing. This alliance is consistent with the Sunni branch of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood.

 

The alliance between Turkey and Sudan is concerning to the southern coalition of Sunni Muslims including Egypt and Saudia Arabia. Egypt is expressing concern. The Egyptians have a water problem. Access to the Nile River is the issue. Egypt gets 90% of their water from the Nile River. Sudan and Egypt are not working together regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

Egypt is currently spending millions beefing up their military. They recently purchased two helicopter carriers, one frigate from France, three submarines from Germany, and dozens of warplanes from France and Russia.

 

The Turks currently have a seaport in Somalia. Turkey already has military troops in Qatar. Turkey’s Recep Erdogan has his eyes on the religious sites in Mecca.

November 22, 2017, Sochi, Russia: President Vladimir Putin welcomed Turkey’s Recep Erdogan and Iran’s Hassan Rouhani for a summit. The goal was peace in the Syrian civil war. All three leaders are in favor of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad maintaining power.

“The militants in Syria (ISIS) have sustained a decisive blow and now there is a realistic chance to end the multi-year civil war,” per Vladimir Putin.

A follow up meeting is scheduled for December in Russia. The goal is to pave the way for a Syrian constitution which would include presidential term limits. Assad’s previous time as president would not be included in future term limit discussions.

It appears Russia, Iran, and Turkey will be the primary actors in rebuilding Syria.

The United Nations is complaining that Putin is interrupting the “peace process” in Syria. The United States and the European Union were not part of the discussions. Vladimir Putin is establishing himself as the dominant power broker on the world stage.

Trend Update: Turkey Troops Enter Syria’s Idlib Province, October 2017

October 10, 2017: At this time, let us welcome more military troops of Turkey into the Syrian theater. The first time Turkey inserted troops into Syria was with Operation Euphrates Shield in August 2016. Turkey has begun their military build south toward Israel. The prophet Ezekiel in chapter 38 predicts a future invasion of Israel from the north.

Russia, Iran, and Turkey continue to agree to provide peace and stability to Syria. The de-escalation zone is the Idlib province in northwest Syria. Turkish troops are reported to be in the western part of the province. Russian troops are reported to be in the eastern part of Idlib.

Turkey says they will remain in Syria until the threat of terrorism is eliminated. Previously, Turkey had called for the ouster of President Assad in Syria. Now, they are confronting forces opposed to Assad. The following is a statement from Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.

“As part of the reached agreement, Idlib will be taken in a security circle by the three guarantor states, and terrorist activities will be prevented. This is the second cross-border operation after Operation Euphrates Shield in Syria. Our aim is clear – tackling mass migration and hindering conflicts by reducing tensions,” Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.

Prime Minister Yildirim said Turkey intends to create control points in Idlib for future deployments. Turkey is just getting started with their military hardware into Syria. The point is to stop further conflict between civilians and militant groups.

Ezekiel 38-39 says Russia allied with Turkey, Iran and others are going to invade Israel from the north. Look who is getting together to form an alliance for peace on Israel’s northern border in Syria.

August 8-9, 2017: Turkey, Iran, and Russia are having peace talks about “safe zones” in Syria. The location of the discussion is Tehran, Iran. This is according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to Lavrov, there are three operating safe zones in Syria. They include: southern Syria, Eastern Ghouta, and north of Homs. The focus of the peace talks is the Idlib province.

The safe zones were allegedly brokered on May 4, 2017. Turkey, Iran and Russia signed the deal to establish safe zones in Syria. More discussion is scheduled for later in August 2017.

August 9, 2017: A peace deal has been reached in Cairo, Egypt regarding a safe zone. The meeting was between the Russian Defense Ministry and Syrian opposition. The safe zone is the area between Hama (ancient Hamath of Jeremiah 49) and Homs. Again…Russia, Turkey, and Iran are the enforcers of the ceasefire.

August 8, 2017: Israel has held secret talks with the Russians and the United States. Meetings reportedly took place in Europe and Jordan. The Israeli concern is the increased presence of Iranian troops near the border in the Golan Heights. Increased Iranian presence is an Israeli concern all across Syria.

Here is the official statement from Israel.

“Senior Israeli officials said that the main dispute was that the Americans and the Russians see the cease-fire in southern Syria and the safe zones as a practical and tactical means of stabilizing the situation and enable a focus on wiping out the Islamic State and lowering the flames of the civil war. Israel, however, believes that the agreement should be considered from a long-term, strategic perspective and should focus on what the extent of Iranian influence will be in Syria after the civil war ends.

The Israelis told their interlocutors that the agreement should provide a solution not regarding Iranian presence in the 20 kilometers from the Israeli border, but for the rest of Syria as well. A senior Israeli official said the Israelis told the Russians and the Americans that they had to demand from the Iranians that the Revolutionary Guards, Hezbollah and the Shi’ite militias in Syria must leave the country.”

More troops are going to be necessary to keep the peace. This is escalating faster than earlier plans revealed by the Russians.

Trend Update: Turkey Vote Expands Erdgogan’s Power, April 2017

The brothers of Magog…They include Gomer, Meshech, and Tubal.

Gomer means “complete”. Historians through the ages debate whether they lived north or south of the Black Sea. North of the Black Sea is modern day Ukraine. South of the Black Sea is modern day Turkey.

Meshech means “drawing out”; a people on the borders of Colchis (the land area east of the Black Sea). Armenia is on the eastern border of modern day Turkey. Today the region of Meshech is modern day Turkey, Russia, and Georgia.

Tubal means “thou shall be brought”; a region in east Asia Minor (modern day Eastern Turkey).

Beth Togarmah: Beth is Hebrew for house. Togarmah means “thou will break her”.  People consider this to be Armenia. At its peak, the Armenian Empire was from modern day Syria on the Mediterranean Sea to south of the Black Sea and east to the Caspian Sea. Historically, Turkey is also known as the House of Togarmah.

The brothers of Magog (Meshech, Gomer, and Tubal) generally point to modern day Turkey.

April 16, 2017: Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan was given increased authority from Turkey’s people. The “yes” vote won 51.4% of the vote. The “no” vote garnered 48.6% of the vote. The vote was held during a state of emergency in Turkey.

Recep Erdogan now has the power to appoint the majority of judges in Turkey. He has the ability to determine ministers. The president can now set the agenda for the budget. If necessary, Turkey’s president can create law by decree. A state of emergency can be declared by the president independently. He can even dismiss parliament if necessary.

Erdogan is now eligible to run for two more five year terms after his current term is complete. There is a provision in the new powers that could allow lawmakers to allow the president to run for a third five year term. This could potentially allow Erdogan to remain in power until 2034.

Historically, Erdogan has acted decisively and aggressively. Erdogan has previously discussed protecting Sunni brothers in Mosul or ancient Nineveh. He is not a big fan of Iraqi intervention in the region of Nineveh.

Turkey’s president is not a big fan of the Kurds either. He divided the Kurdish region in and around the Euphrates River with Operation Euphrates Shield.

Trend Update: Turkey’s Erdogan at Odds with Europe, March 2017

Ezekiel 38:1-3 The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-Togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.

According to the prophet Ezekiel, Russia will be joined by several countries in their future invasion of Israel. One of those countries is modern day Turkey. Scripture says Turkey is a player in the Ezekiel 38-39 scenario, the Gog and Magog war and invasion of Israel. The brothers of Magog (Meshech, Tubal, Gomer and his son Togarmah) appear to point to modern day Turkey.

Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan is making news across Europe. With the upcoming election later this spring on April 16, 2017, Erdogan is looking to expand his presidential powers. If given authority, he would be allowed to appoint the majority of judges, determine ministers, set the agenda for the budget, create law by decree, declare states of emergency, and dismiss parliament if necessary. This could potentially allow Erdogan to remain in power until 2029.

Erdogan is taking his campaign to Europe by holding rallies in European countries. Not all European countries are in favor of these Turkish political rallies. European leaders have expressed concern for safety at the rallies.

Turkey’s president needs the vote and support of the people. The issue is Turks who are eligible to vote. Some of the registered voters are living abroad in Europe. It is estimated there are 5.5 million Turks who are eligible to vote who live in Europe. 1.4 million Turkish voters live in Germany.

March 5, 2017: Germany blocked several pro Erdogan rallies which resulted in some strong language from Turkey’s president.

“Your practices are not different from the Nazi practices of the past. I thought it’s been a long time since Germany left [Nazi practices]. We are mistaken.” –President Recep Erdogan of Turkey.

March 12, 2017: Riot police engaged the pro Erdogan supporters in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Turkish Family Minister was escorted out of the country. Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was not allowed into the country.

Erdogan has not taken kindly to cancellation of rallies. “I have said that I had thought that Nazism was over, but that I was wrong. Nazism is alive in the West,” President Recep Erdogan of Turkey.

In reference to the Dutch, Erdogan proclaimed, “They are very nervous and cowardly. They are Nazi remnants, they are fascists.”

Sweden has cancelled scheduled events for Erdogan support.

Austria has indicated rallies are not appropriate in their country.

Denmark Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen postponed a gathering.

Switzerland has said no to Erdogan political rallies.

However, the French were agreeable to and allowed a rally in Metz, France.

Currently, Turkey is a member of NATO. Europe is not pleased with a fellow NATO member’s comments toward pledged allies. You know Russia’s Vladimir Putin is watching and courting Turkey’s Erdogan.
