Trend Update: Turkey, Rumors of 2nd Coup, US/NATO Nuclear Incirlik Air Base Surrounded, July 31, 2016

Ezekiel 38:1-3 The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-Togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.

On July 31, 2016 Russian News Agency Tass, Sputnik News, and RT.com are reporting a rumored second attempted coup of the Turkey government. 7,000 Turkish troops have surrounded the joint United States and NATO Incirlik Air Base. The air base is reported to hold 50-90 nuclear weapons. This is reported to be the largest nuclear weapons unit in Europe.

Turkish authorities are saying this is for security reasons only. The operation has been deemed a “safety inspection”. They also added “there is no problem”. Air space over the base has been closed.

Earlier in the week, approximately 1,000 surrounded the air base and protested with chants of “Death to America” and anti-Israeli talk.

This is being reported in Australia, Israel and other news outlets around the world.

It appears Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan are making up after the Russian fighter jet was shot down by Turkey earlier in the year (2016). Russia has a slippery slope playing both sides of Islam, Sunni (Turkey and majority of Muslim nations) and Shia (Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Hezbollah)…

The Scripture references above state Russia and Turkey will be allies in the end times invasion of Israel.

Trend Update: Ezekiel 38-39/Magog (Russia)/Golan Heights, Passover 2016

Ezekiel 38:15-16 You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. You will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

The uttermost parts of the north refers to Russia. Moscow is straight line due north of Jerusalem. The Bible and secular historians are in agreement that Magog appears to be modern day Russia.

Today, April 21, 2016, Benjamin Netanyahu flew to Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin. The Prime Minister of Israel made it clear to Putin that Israel will never leave the Golan Heights. He also laid out a list of “red lines” to Russia and the world.

“We are doing everything to prevent the emergence of an additional front of terror against us at the Golan Heights,” Benjamin Netanyahu.

The time point given is the latter days.

God is in control. He is the one bringing Gog (whoever that person may be) and the armies up against Israel. Notice, God refers to the land as “my land”. Despite what Gog or the United Nations may think, humanity is not in charge.

The purpose of the conflict is to show the world of nations who God is. God wants the world to “know” Him.

The Hebrew word for “know” is yada`. It means: to perceive, find out and discern, to discriminate, distinguish, to know by experience; to recognize, admit, acknowledge, confess; be acquainted with.

This conflict will be an attention getter for the entire planet.

Gog is being used by God. The Lord will qadash (Hebrew) Himself. Translated, it means: to show oneself sacred or majestic, to be honored, or be treated as sacred. The verb tense in the Hebrew is passive or similar to past tense in English. As far as the text is concerned, this is a done deal. From the standpoint of Ezekiel 2,700 years ago to today (April 2016), the event has already happened. It is pre written history.

If Vladimir Putin is Gog…he is about to meet his Maker. If it is time…this is going to get ugly.

Trend Update: Russia (Magog)/Israel, Ezekiel 38-39, December 9, 2015

Magog was a son of Japheth. Genesis 10:2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. Japheth was the son of Noah. The sons of Japheth were born after the flood (Genesis 10:1).

But what about the brothers of Magog? They include Gomer, Meshech, and Tubal.

Gomer means “complete”. Historians through the ages debate whether they lived north or south of the Black Sea. North of the Black Sea is modern day Russia. South of the Black Sea is modern day Turkey.

Meshech means “drawing out”; a people on the borders of Colchis (the land area east of the Black Sea). Armenia is effectively modern day eastern Turkey. Today (November 2015), the region of Meshech is modern day Turkey, Russia, and Georgia.

Tubal means “thou shall be brought”; a region in east Asia Minor (modern day Eastern Turkey).

Beth Togarmah: Beth is Hebrew for house. Togarmah means “thou will break her”.  People consider this to be Armenia. At its peak, the Armenian Empire was from modern day Syria on the Mediterranean Sea to south of the Black Sea and east to the Caspian Sea. Historically, Turkey is also known as the House of Togarmah.

The brothers of Magog (Meshech, Gomer, and Tubal) appear to point to modern day Turkey.

Russia will be joined by several countries in their future invasion of Israel (Ezekiel 38-39). One of those countries is modern day Turkey.

What? Turkey has recently taken out a Russian fighter jet in disputed air space (November 2015). Russian leader Vladimir Putin has called this act “a stab in the back”. At this time, Russia and Turkey are clearly not on friendly terms.

Putin (December 9, 2015) has introduced the option of nuclear weapons in Syria in a press release. “With regard to strikes from a submarine. We certainly need to analyze everything that is happening on the battlefield, how the weapons work. Both the (Kalibr) missiles and the Kh-101 rockets are generally showing very good results. We now see that these are new, modern and highly effective high-precision weapons that can be equipped either with conventional or special nuclear warheads. Naturally, we do not need that in fighting terrorists, and I hope we will never need it. But overall, this speaks to our significant progress in terms of improving weaponry and equipment being supplied to the Russian army and navy.”

At some point in the future, Russia is prophesied to invade Israel. The Bible says Russia and Turkey are going to join forces and invade Israel (Ezekiel 38-39). If this is the time leading up to Russian invasion of Israel, I trust Russia and Turkey will kiss and make up. Maybe Russia invades Turkey. At any rate, the Bible says they will join forces to invade Israel.

Ezekiel 38:12 to capture spoil and to seize plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the center of the world.

to capture spoil and to seize plunder… Here are the intentions of Gog, the leader of Magog (Russia). The Russians are going to invade to steal natural resources from Israel.

“capture spoil” or shalal in the Hebrew. Per Strong’s Concordance, the word means: draw out, plunder, or take spoil.

“seize” or bazaz in the Hebrew. Per Strong’s, the word means: to spoil, plunder, prey upon, seize, or despoil.

Israel possesses “plunder” or baz in the Hebrew. This is the noun form of the verb above.

Does the nation of Israel have anything worth taking?

News has emerged in early October 2015. Israel has discovered a vast oil deposit in the Golan Heights region north of the Sea of Galilee. http://www.nasdaq.com/article/major-shale-find-could-guarantee-israels-oil-supply-for-years-cm528693

The coast of Israel is home to two tremendous areas of natural gas. The Leviathan oil and gas basin in the Mediterranean Sea is believed to hold 1.7 billion barrels of oil. The basin also holds an estimated 122 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (Noble Energy, U.S. Geological Survey). A second oil and natural gas basin is the Tamar. It is estimated to hold 7.9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (Noble Energy).

Israel is known as a world leader for diamond cutting and polishing.

Technology development is a cornerstone of the Israeli economy. It has been coined the Silicon Wadi.

…to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited… This is an accurate description of the land of Israel prior to their return to the land in the early 20th century. The land was known as chorbah in the Hebrew. Per Strong’s it means: a place laid waste, ruin, waste, desolation, or a desert.

… and against the people who are gathered from the nations… From the Balfour Declaration in 1917, the rebirth of a nation in 1948, to reclaiming Jerusalem as its capital in 1967, Jews have been returning to their land to the present day.

… who have acquired cattle and goods… Cows from Israel are noted to be the most productive in the world when it comes to milk. Cows are constantly monitored and under intense observation. Data is taken intently from a variety of perspectives.

Trend Update: Russia (Magog)/Israel, Ezekiel 38-39, September 22, 2015

Exodus 19:5-6 “Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.” -God

Israel is God’s chosen people. Israel is to depend on Him for their protection. When these verses were spoken, God had just removed His people out of slavery from Egypt.

Historically, Israel gets in big time trouble when they abandon their covenant relationship with God and turn to other nations for their protection and security. The Old Testament is littered with examples such as the Hittites, Egyptians, and Assyrians. The end result was judgment. The land was pillaged. Their people were murdered or taken into captivity. Peace treaties with other countries NEVER ended well for Israel.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, Russia and Israel agreed to share military information regarding issues concerning Syria and ISIS. The two countries have agreed to coordinate activities in Syria. Russia and Israel look to avoid a “misunderstanding” between the two countries’ military forces. Prime Minister Netanyahu also signaled a new era, a Middle East without America.

There is concern from the Israelis. Russia is placing military equipment such as surface to air missiles. This should not be necessary to fight ISIS. They have no Air Force. What is the intention of the Russians? (Strobe Talbott, President, Brookings Institute).

Ezekiel 39:4-6 You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord God.  I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

The point of the Russian invasion of Israel is stated by God Himself. Ezekiel 38:16 “and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I am sanctified through you before their eyes, O Gog.”

God is still here and He remains in charge. Ezekiel 38:23 “I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the LORD.”

Russia has recently moved military troops, naval hardware, and air support into Syria which is north of Israel. Russia says they are supporting the government of President Assad of Syria. Russia is present to fight against ISIS and terrorism. Secretary of State Kerry has warned Russia not to interfere with the fight against ISIS.

Two Lebanese sources said the Russians were establishing two bases in Syria. One is near the coast and an operations base further inland. The Russians have installed modular housing units for hundreds of people at the airport. Portable air traffic control equipment has been placed.

It is important to understand Syria’s President Assad has the support of Iran.

It remains to be seen if Vladimir Putin is “Gog”. If he is, Vladimir’s history has been written by a Hebrew prophet roughly 580 years before Christ. From our standpoint (September 2015), this was written approximately 2,600 years ago. If Putin is “Gog”, he is like a fish being reeled in by the Lord Himself.

Ezekiel 38:3-4 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords…”

Ezekiel 39:1-2 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal; and I will turn you around, drive you on, take you up from the remotest parts of the north and bring you against the mountains of Israel.

Gog’s fate is sealed in Ezekiel 38-39.

Ezekiel 39:8 “Behold, it is coming and it shall be done,” declares the Lord GOD. “That is the day of which I have spoken.”

Trend Update: Russia (Magog)/Israel, Ezekiel 38-39, January 2015

Ezekiel 38:2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him…”

Ezekiel was taken captive and shipped to Babylon. The prophecies in Ezekiel 38-39 were written 2,500 years ago from today (January 2015).

Who was Magog? Magog was a son of Japheth. Genesis 10:2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. Japheth was the son of Noah. The sons of Japheth were born after the flood (Genesis 10:1). Where did Magog settle? Where is the land of Magog?

Per Strong’s Concordance, Magog is defined as: the mountainous region between Cappadocia and Media and habitation of the descendants of Magog, a barbarous northern region.

The New Testament refers to the Scythians one time. Colossians 3:11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

As defined by Strong’s, a Scythian is “rude or rough”. A Scythian, an inhabitant of Scythia or modern day Russia. By the more civilized nations of antiquity, the Scythians were regarded as the wildest of barbarians. They were the epitome of savagery in the ancient world.

Look at a modern day map. Moscow is straight north of Jerusalem.

What does secular history say about the Magogians? Who are they? In the 7th century BC, Hesiod the Greek poet identified the Scythians as people of modern day southern Russia. Hesiod’s writings pre dated the Ezekiel the prophet.

The 1st century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus indicated the Magogians were called Scythians by the Greeks. They lived north of the Black Sea. During the same time period, Philo equated Magog with southern Russia.

The Father of History, Herodotus, labeled the descendants of Magog by their Greek name, Scythians. This occurred in the 5th century AD.

For over 1,200 years, the Bible and historians of their day equated the people of Magog with the Scythians. They lived in modern day Russia. The Bible and historians are consistent. Magog is modern day Russia. Magog will invade Israel in the future. Magog will get theirs handed to them by the Lord Himself (Ezekiel 38 -39). Today (January 2015), it looks like the idea of invading Israel has crossed the leader of Magog’s (Gog) mind.

Ezekiel 38:18 “It will come about on that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD, “that My fury will mount up in My anger…”
