This Week in Prophecy: Trump Comes in Peace

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

I take President Trump’s word when he says he wants to stop all the wars and bloodshed. Is Trump a son of God? If he truly wants the warring factions to stop and is working toward that end, yes, Donald Trump is a son of God.

Is Trump flawed, yes. Is Trump a believer in Christ? That is between him and His Creator.

President Trump has been calling for peace across the planet over the past week.

Israel and Hamas continue to fight… However, President Trump accomplished this prior to his upcoming trip to the Middle East this week.

Russia and Ukraine

President Putin of Russia doesn’t want to have a Cease Fire Agreement with Ukraine, but rather wants to meet on Thursday, in Turkey, to negotiate a possible end to the BLOODBATH. Ukraine should agree to this, IMMEDIATELY. At least they will be able to determine whether or not a deal is possible, and if it is not, European leaders, and the U.S., will know where everything stands, and can proceed accordingly! I’m starting to doubt that Ukraine will make a deal with Putin, who’s too busy celebrating the Victory of World War ll, which could not have been won (not even close!) without the United States of America. Do not be lulled into comfort by “peace and security“. There are people and countries on this planet who want war. Some people such as the sons of Ishmael just like to fight and they have for centuries and millennia.

There is way too much money to be made by manufacturing, selling weapons and support of war. The greed of some is more powerful than peaceful existence.

Per Grok… Military Actions: Involves airstrikes, ground incursions, and control of strategic areas like the Netzarim Corridor and Morag Axis. Recent escalations (May 2025) include plans to capture the entire Gaza Strip.

Israel continues military action in Yemen against the Houthis.

May 5-7, 2025: Following a Houthi ballistic missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport on May 4, which injured eight and damaged infrastructure, Israel launched massive airstrikes on Houthi-controlled Sanaa airport and Hodeidah port. The strikes disabled the airport, destroyed civilian aircraft, and caused ~$500 million in damages, according to Houthi claims. Israel coordinated with the U.S., targeting military infrastructure to weaken Houthi capabilities.

Israel continues military action in Lebanon

Ongoing Operations (April-May 2025): Israel continued strikes on Hezbollah weapons sites, including a missile storage facility in Dahiyeh (April 27, 2025) and arms depots in Beqaa Valley and Srifa (May 5, 2025). These targeted Hezbollah’s efforts to rebuild military infrastructure, which Israel claimed violated ceasefire terms.

Luke 21:9 When you hear of wars and rebellions, do not be alarmed. These things must happen first, but the end is not imminent.

Against the backdrop of Russo-American talks in Saudi Arabia and the emergency European security summit in Paris, France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting Turkey today to speak with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. According to a statement from President Zelensky, food, security, prisoner exchanges, and some bilateral educational and cultural initiatives are the topics for discussion. On the prisoner exchanges: Alongside the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, Turkey has played a key role in facilitating past prisoner exchanges and other Russo-Ukrainian wartime communications. However, given the aforementioned meetings and summits, peace negotiations will likely be on the docket for conversation as well.

The main points from Sergey Lavrov’s statements following the talks in Riyadh:

The conversation with the US representatives was very useful, the parties began to listen and hear each other;

Russia and the United States agreed to ensure the earliest possible appointment of ambassadors in Washington and Moscow;

The US will announce who will represent them on the issue of settlement in Ukraine, and the Russian Federation will immediately do the same;

The Russian Federation and the United States are interested in resuming consultations on geopolitical issues and removing barriers to economic cooperation. The parties will try to create conditions for resuming cooperation in full;

Mutual understanding between the Russian Federation and the United States on a number of issues does not mean a rapprochement of positions;

The Russian Federation and the United States have practically agreed to resolve “once and for all” issues with the functioning of the diplomatic missions of the two countries;

The US has said that the report about a three-point plan for Ukraine is fake;

Russia explained to the US that NATO’s absorption of Ukraine would be a direct threat to Moscow;

The United States proposed introducing a moratorium on attacks on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine;

The presence of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory is unacceptable for the Russian Federation;

Zelensky’s stunt with the attack on the pumping station in Kuban suggests that it’s time for him to get a slap on the wrist;

Russia has sensed the US’s complete determination to “move forward”, and Moscow is in the same mood.

Reuters reports that France plans to host a second emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss Ukraine and European security, but has this time invited European countries not present at the first meeting earlier this week and NATO ally Canada.

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) rose six places to number 35 in the latest World Watch List. Last year, 355 were killed for their faith, compared with 261 the previous year, whilst an estimated 10,000 were internally displaced, which is ten times more than 2023. Houses have been looted and burnt, schools relocated, churches and health facilities closed, and several Christian villages have been abandoned altogether.
