The last couple of weeks in financial markets and global economics has been rocky. In the last two business weeks 5 banks have crashed. The United States has witnessed two of its largest bank failures in history.
Moody’s Investor Service has downgraded the entire United States banking system to negative.
āWe have changed to negative from stable our outlook on the US banking system to reflect the rapid deterioration in the operating environment following deposit runs at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Silvergate Bank, and Signature Bank (SNY) and the failures of SVB and SNY.ā -Moody’s
The banks in the United States includes: Silvergate Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank, and First Republic Bank. The mess has made its way across the Atlantic to Europe. Switzerland’s Credit Suisse required a bailout from the Swiss government.
The US Department of Treasury decided to insure all depositors in banks that expose a “systemic risk exception”, even those above the insured threshold of $250,000. The two banks who meet this “exception” include Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. All depositors were “made whole”.
This “exception” appears to be on a case by case basis as decided by the boards of the FDIC, the Federal Reserve, President Biden, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen.
During hearings with the Senate, Oklahoma Senator James Lankford (R) pressed Secretary Yellen. This exchange was extraordinary.

March 7, 2021: Pope Francis has made a historic trip to the land of the ancient Chaldeans and Sumerians, modern day Iraq. The pontiff has traveled to the Shia Muslim holy city of Najaf, the Christian community of Qaraqosh, Abraham’s birthplace of Ur, Erbil, and the ancient city of Nineveh or modern day Mosul. This is the first time a pope has visited Iraq.
In Najaf, the Pope met with Iraq’s Shia Cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani. The visit is reported to have lasted about 50 minutes. Focus of the talks were on religious tolerance.
The following quote is from the Grand Ayatollah Sistani. “…affirmed his concern that Christian citizens should live like all Iraqis in peace and security, and with their full constitutional rights.”
Pope Francis traveled to modern day Nasiriyah or ancient Ur. This is the birthplace of Abraham, the father of the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths. The Great Ziggurat of Ur was the location of the interfaith service.

By the way, those of the Hebrew faith were not invited by the Iraqi government. Many spoke out against the decision by the Iraqi government including representatives of the Pope. There was no Jewish representation at the interfaith service.

November 21, 2016: Pope Francis has extended forgiveness for abortion. All priests around the world have been granted this authority from the Pope. This act of mercy and forgiveness is now a permanent edict from Pope Francis.
Previously, abortion brought automatic excommunication. There were special, technical conditions where excommunication could be avoided. But as of todayā¦

On September 1, 2015, Pope Francis announced he was granting authority to priests to forgive women for the sin of abortion. Women must demonstrate contrition for the forgiveness. The forgiveness was available during the upcoming Catholic holy year of Jubilee. At the time, it was not clear if this forgiveness would be extended after the holy year was completed. Would it be a one-time only offer? The Pope was doing this as an act of mercy during the Catholic year of Jubilee. This Catholic Jubilee year is not to be confused with Godās Jubilee year described by Moses in the Law.
The Pope is a very likeable guy. He is the Pope of the people. Pope Francis is a nice man and appears to have good intentions. But, the Pope it is not capable of forgiving sin(s). Francisā word or decree does not cleanse anybody. It is the shedding of Christās blood that is the forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:12 He (Jesus) entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Romans 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
Jesus is our High Priest. He is our representative before the Father. At this time (September 2015), we do not need an earthly priest. Pope Francis, a priest, or any other human on earth does not represent us before God the Father.
Hebrews 7:24-26 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.Ā Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.Ā For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens.
With Jesus, forgiveness of sin is not a one-time special offer. āFor this year onlyā¦ā No, you can come to Jesus any time you want. It does not have to be a special year or date. When Jesus dealt with sin, it was taken care of once and for all time. All people covered if they are accepting of His effort and payment.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all,Ā theĀ just forĀ theĀ unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.

The Greek word for āonceā is hapax. It means: once, one time, once for all. Christās one and only death is enough to cover the sins ofĀ theĀ planet across the ages.
Jesus forgives all sins. There is not a list of special exemptions or conditions. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. The Greek word for āallā used by John is pas. Per Strongās Concordance it means: each, every, any, all, the whole, everyone, all things, everything. All sin is forgiven.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
God saves us from sin via the shed blood of His Son. The fine has been paid. There are no strings or conditions attached. Eternal life is a merciful, gracious gift, plain and simple.

The Sanhedrin of Israel is back in the news, August 2015. The Sanhedrin reconvened in 2005 after a 1,600 year absence. They oversee legal matters and future construction of the pending third temple.
The Greek word for Sanhedrin is sunedrion. It is frequently translated as āCouncilā in the New Testament (Strongās Concordance).
Who is/was the Sanhedrin? They are/were a group of 71 members. The group was made up of members from the Pharisees and Sadducees back in the day. The Sanhedrin was lead by the High Priest in the past Ā (Holman Bible Dictionary).
This is the same Sanhedrin who illegally arrested, tried, and convicted Jesus (Luke 22:66,Mark 14:55-56). They pressured Pilate for Jesusā death on a cross (Mark 15:1-15).
In another sense, they are not the same Sanhedrin of Jesusās time. They now have their own website.

As of August 2015, there is no current High Priest in Jerusalem, Israel. There is no Temple. There is much debate. Who will appoint the High Priest? Will the High Priest be appointed by the Sanhedrin, the Messiah, or the King?

Memorial Day weekend proved to be an interesting time in the Holy Land. The Pope, Francis, visited the Middle East. There are many who think the Pope will be the Anti-Christ. The Roman Empire is being revived, so they say. Many have identified the Pope as the Anti-Christ. I would also encourage everyone to remember the Roman Empire had an eastern leg which included modern day Turkey, Iraq, and Syria.
The Pope had an interesting trip. He called for interfaith toleration and unity between the Muslims and the Jewish people. He visited the Muslim Dome on the Temple Mount and the Jewish Western Wall. He endorsed dividing the land and acknowledging a Palestinian state. With all due to respect to the pontiff, I would encourage him to read the Book of Joel. God says, āDo not divide My land.ā This is not a good idea and not in accordance with Godās will.
The Pope has requested a peace meeting or summit next month (June 2014) at the Vatican between the Muslims and the Jews. I expect the Pope or somebody to invoke Father Abraham as a bridge to peace at some point in the future.

Scripture tells us the Anti-Christ will NOT be revealed until the resurrection of the dead believers in Christ and the living believers in Christ are raptured into the clouds to meet Jesus. There is a lot of debate about the word āapostasyā. It is the word apostasia in the Greek. The word is transliterated. It can mean the following in the original Greek: a falling away, defection, or apostasy. The word is used one other time in the New Testament.
The key to the passage is noted later in these verses with the restrainer. Many take this ārestrainerā to be the Holy Spirit who is indwelled in Christians. The restrainer will be removed when Christians are snatched into the clouds at the rapture by Jesus. Then, the Anti-Christ will be revealed and present himself to the world.
This passage also notes there will be a Jewish Temple. The Anti-Christ will present himself as being God in the temple. Currently, there is no Jewish Temple. But if we wake up one morning and there has been an agreement to rebuild the Templeā¦
