Love in Secret…Featuring Matt Weinreich

givingMatthew 6:1-4 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them.  Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.  Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men.  Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.  But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret: and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”

A true gift cannot be given without receiving. A true gift cannot be received without giving.  When I give generously, my spirit is raised knowing I have shown love to another.  When I receive, my spirit is raised knowing another loved me enough to give generously to me.

A taker cannot truly give, nor receive.  A taker takes out of fear of being taken from.  The spirit of taking wants to convert givers into takers.

This is why I believe Jesus told us to give in secret.  To give is to love.  Love the other as other.   Love and release.  Love spontaneously in secret.  Leaving the other with the expectation of praise, or repayment turns that love to vanity.   Don’t allow your love to be hijacked.

Revelation: Sardis, Book of Life

Revelation 3:5-6 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

The statement is conditional. One must conquer or overcome through Jesus Christ. The result…

…and I will never blot…Jesus is making a promise. As a believer in Him, your good name and character are safe.

This the Greek word ἐξαλείφω/exaleiphó. Defined by Strong’s Concordance, it means: I plaster, wash over; I wipe off, wipe out, or obliterate.

Believers will not be erased, obliterated, or wiped out.

The verb ἐξαλείφω/exaleiphó is used a total of five times in the New Testament. It is utilized in the context of the removal of tears, sin, and debt. See the examples below.

Revelation 21:4a and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; 

Acts 3:19a Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away…

Colossians 2:14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Jesus totally paid for sin once and for all. He is not about to let us be erased from life. He overcame death. And in Him, believers have eternal life.

 

Erased from what? …the book of life.

The “book of life” is mentioned in five times in Revelation. Scripture tells us the “book of life” has its origins from the beginning of time at creation. The owner of the “book of life” is Christ Himself, the Lamb.

Revelation 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.

It would appear, we all start with our name in the “book of life”. Moses and the Lord are having a discussion. Sin will remove our name from the “book of life”. And this makes sense considering the wage of sin is death.

Exodus 32:32-33 “But now, if You will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out from Your book which You have written!” The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.”

 

The span of our life is noted to the day in the “book of life”.

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.

 

Every single detail of our life is documented down to the number of tears in the “book of life”.

Psalm 56:8 You have taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?

 

Revelation 3:6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Please listen. This marks the fifth time Jesus has requested to all members of the church to listen. He is not pleading with the Sardis church only. This is an individual appeal. If you have an ear(s), Christ is talking to you.

You want to be found in the “book of life”. There is a consequence if your sins are not squared away with the Father.

Revelation 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Trend Update: Trouble Brewing on the Arabian Peninsula, November 2017

Jeremiah 49:28a Concerning Kedar…

The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah define “Arabia” or modern day Saudi Arabia. This is the Hebrew word Arab. It means a desert plateau, a country east of Israel (Strong’s Concordance).

The following peoples and their descendants make up Arabia per the prophets: Dedan, Tema, and Kedar.

November 11, 2017: Tension is building on the Arabian Peninsula. At the core of the issue is conflict between Iran (Shia Muslims) and Saudi Arabia (Sunni Muslims). The Saudis and their allies have concerns about a nuclear Iran.

The Houthi Shia rebels in Yemen are supported by Iran. Earlier in the week, a missile was fired from Yemen that targeted Riyadh’s (Saudi Arabia) commercial International Airport. The missile was intercepted by the Saudi’s. There were no injuries or damage reported. The Saudi’s have stated Iran has committed an act of war.

French President Emmanuel Macron is on the record blaming the Iranians. “The missile which was intercepted by Saudi Arabia launched from Yemen, which obviously is an Iranian missile, shows precisely the strength of their program.” -Emmanuel Macron

United States Air Force sources are also confirming Iranian involvement in the missile launch from Yemen to Riyadh.

With the announcement of the resignation, Hezbollah’s (Shia Muslim) leader Hassan Nasrallah accused Saudi Arabia of declaring war on Lebanon. “In short, it is clear that Saudi Arabia and Saudi officials have declared war on Lebanon and on Hezbollah in Lebanon, but I have to say this is a war on Lebanon.”

The concern is Lebanon erupting into a civil war like Yemen with Saudi and Iranian proxies. The Saudis have ordered all citizens to leave Lebanon. Saudi money is leaving Lebanon banks by the billions.

This week, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) has been arresting over 200 officials in the name of “corruption”. The 32 year old MBS is the future king of Saudi Arabia. At least 11 family members were corralled. Around 38 government ministers were detained. Military, religious, and business leaders have been arrested as well.

Scripture is very clear. In the final analysis, the Saudis are going to get pummeled. Isaiah bears witness and confirms their fate.

Isaiah 21:16-17 For thus the Lord said to me, “Within a year, according to the years of a hired worker, all the glory of Kedar will come to an end. And the remainder of the archers of the mighty men of the sons of Kedar will be few, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.”

The Other Side of the Peak…Featuring Michael Douville

From the lows in March of 2009 to the lofty levels of today, by any metric, the Stock Market has done extremely well. Hardly anyone caught the very bottom, but even those that came close have doubled or tripled their investment; very well done! Lucky Investors have ridden the S&P and The Dow up to 2582 and 23,517 respectively and the ride UP has been FUN! Please pay very close attention to this chart, the Other Side is a completely different World. The higher the Peak becomes, the steeper the Other Side! There is no Plateau!

In order to preserve the Gains, a Courageous decision MUST be made; when to EXIT! Greed dictates grabbing every extra dollar one can; Prudence cautions that it is not what you make, but what you keep that counts! The climb to the Peak is exhilarating, even intoxicating. The Fall is depressing. Unfortunately, typical Human fashion,  the average Investor believes that the “Peak” will be recognized and they will escape in plenty of time to capture the Maximum gains. This “Time is Different” always becomes the Mantra! The brutal lessons of History teach that most Investors ride the wave up and then ride the wave down; this time the Fall may be devastating. The Central Banks of the World have exaggerated the Bubble with their Trillions of Dollars of Liquidity. The Federal Reserve has stated they will begin removing liquidity the 4th Quarter of 2017 at the rate of $10 Billion a month growing to $510 Billion withdrawn in 2018. The World Central Banks have pledged to reduce their liquidity injections from $2 Trillion annually to ZERO by April 2018.

Without Global Central Banks participation Risk will rise substantially. The Doctrine of Enough (or How Much do I Need?) prescribes taking the profits gained and moving to another Asset Class; reducing risk. Bonds have traditionally been the choice of risk adverse Investors. However, the Debt Binge of most Government Entities as well as many Corporate Entities make Bonds as risky or maybe even more so than Equities; this Asset Class should also be avoided.  Precious Metals and the larger class of Real Assets and Commodities are just starting to bottom after years of decline; the process has not yet completed. They are at or near the lowest values in decades.

Recognizing the coming shift in Cycles is not easy. However, the basic industrial components such as Iron Ore, Copper, Lumber, Oil,  and Aluminum will soon cycle off their bottoms. These are the components of Single Family homes which as the raw materials rise, house prices will also rise. Housing unlike Gold has a “Use Factor” of “Shelter” and is a necessary component of Life. Accumulating Single Family homes and providing “Shelter” by leasing them to families may not only transfer profits from an aging, riskier asset class to an emerging class, but also provide conservative, consistent, and monthly Income to weather an Economic Storm.

Our Daily Bread…Featuring Paul Beverly

SutherlandSpgsGot a much needed visit with a good friend last night & we were talking about how it can seem the world wants to keep knocking us down. It’s a fact that there are people that won’t want you to succeed. It’s a fact that at times we will feel broken & suffering. There were many that didn’t want to see Jesus succeed & our suffering is nothing like His. He paid the ultimate price & guest what? He succeeded. With all the hate he faced, he still showed nothing but love. He died for our sins so we would know God’s love. We are saved by the blood of Christ. No matter how bad it seems, we have a lot to be thankful for. We can’t control what others do against us, but we can control how we let it affect us. React with love & know God has great plans for you. Your reward is coming.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not parish but have eternal life.

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.

Please pray for the body of Jesus Christ in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The church is located about 30 miles south east of San Antonio. This is the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. Twenty six (26) people have been killed. Twenty four (24) others have been wounded by a gunman. The shooter is dead. For details of the tragedy, see the link below.

Revelation: Sardis, A Victorious Priest

Revelation 3:5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

The one who conquers… This is the Greek verb νικαο/nikao. It is a term for a victorious military hero. Nike athletic shoes and apparel comes from this Greek root word. The grammar states the action is continuous.

We always have victory in Christ. There is not one human being outside of Jesus who can win the day on their own. We prevail by Jesus. As members of the body of Christ, we succeed via the Overcomer. Scripture is very clear. There is only one way to conquer.

1 John 5:4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world…our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

…will be clothed thus in white garments…This is the same type of garment described in the previous verse in Revelation 3:4. The garment is a long, flowing outer tunic. The color is white or λευκός/leukos in the Greek. This is defined as a bright, brilliant white.

We know our future as believers with Christ is that of a king and a priest.

1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father–to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

A brilliant white flowing robe is the clothing consistent with a priest. Heavenly, priestly clothing is of linen. That’s the type of cloth Jesus was buried and covered. Before going to Heaven to be at the right hand of the Father, Christ the high priest was buried in linen. Matthew 27:59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth… (see also Mark 15:46, Luke 23:53). The body referenced is Jesus after His death.

Exodus 28 gives instructions for the priestly garments. The clothing for the priest is to be made of linen. Exodus 28:5 They shall take the gold and the blue and the purple and the scarlet material and the fine linen. The concept is stated seven times in Exodus 28. Priestly garments are of linen (Exodus 28:6, 8, 15, 39, 39, 42).

Jesus Christ is setting the stage for His bride to be clothed in Heavenly splendor.

Our Daily Bread…Featuring Paul Beverly

confidenceSelf confidence isn’t always easy for some of us. Surround yourself with those that build you up & speak positivity into your life. Have faith in how God made you, he doesn’t make mistakes. Confidence is attractive.

Do not let anyone or anything, in negativity, to determine your value. If they aren’t lifting you up, they don’t know your worth. Those that are selfish & insecure will try to keep you down. Do not allow it. Surround yourself with those that lift you up. Know your worth.

Psalm 139:13-14 For you formed my inward parts; you knotted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Hebrews 10:35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.

Trend Update: Pestilence, Bubonic Plague in Madagascar, November 2017

Numbers 19:16 Also, anyone who in the open field touches one who has been slain with a sword or who has died naturally, or a human bone or a grave, shall be unclean for seven days.

This is not some little hocus pocus verse from primitive man trying to understand a deity. God has a point and reason for what He says. Do not engage with dead bodies.

October 31, 2017: Madagascar-Bubonic Plague or the Black Death is making a comeback. To date, approximately 1,300 people have been infected. 120 people have died.

World Health Organization: describes plague symptoms as “flu like”, with one to seven days between incubation and the symptoms emerging. Sufferers are likely to have painful lymph nodes, chills, fever, headaches, weakness and fatigue. In bubonic sufferers, these inflamed lymph nodes may end up turning into pus-filled open sores. Bubonic plague is fatal in 30-60 per cent of cases, while the pneumonic kind is always fatal, if left untreated.

The Black Death obliterated roughly 1/3 of the European population during the 13th and 14th centuries.

The World Health Organization has issued a warning to nine African countries. They include: Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Reunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, and Comoros.

 

Madagascans have been warned. Stop the ancient ritual of Famadihana. This practice includes digging up the dead, dancing with the deceased, and reburying after the dance is complete.

The following quote is from Madagascar health chief Willy Randriamarotia. “If a person dies of pneumonic plague and is then interred in a tomb that is subsequently opened for a Famadihana, the bacteria can still be transmitted and contaminate whoever handles the body.”

Health considerations are clashing with tradition. A local resident indicated, “I have participated in as least 15 Famadihana ceremonies and I’ve never caught the plague.”

Officials fear things will get worse before they get better. The concern is one infected person who leaves the island.

Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.

Just to be clear. The events in Madagascar do not point to Revelation. We are not there. But when we get there, one quarter (1/4) of the earth will be affected. 1/4 of 7,000,000,000 = 1.75 billion! This is going to make the news.
