On This Week in Prophecy… The world’s richest, brilliant, and morally elite descended on and graced Davos, Switzerland. The World Economic Forum held its annual meetings and projected its plans for the planet.

Listen to what these people are saying. This is not a back room conspiracy. Their views are out in the public for all to hear. There is no hiding their agenda. They are telling us their intentions. The plan is global in scale.

Founder Klaus Schwab encouraged all who attended to “Master the Future”.

Former Vice President Al Gore along with Colombian President Urrego discussed climate change. Here are some quotes.

By the way, God says it is okay to eat meat.

The European Parliament voted to list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group. Sanctions were placed on Iranian leadership as well.

The IRGC has been carrying out arrests and executions against its population. Citizens are not allowed to exercise their freedom of speech, freedom of lifestyle and sexual orientation, and freedom of clothing choice.

Italy’s Eni energy company found a major new natural gas field offshore of Egypt in the Eastern Mediterranean sea.

State-controlled Eni is looking for new gas sources as it aims to completely replace gas imports from Russia by 2025 following the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Turkey and Iran have discovered something they both have in common. They both have declared war on “terrorists” as they see it, the Kurds.

Turkey wants to be an energy hub partnering with Moscow, and Iran is selling drones to Moscow. Economics ties Turkey and Iran to Moscow. In this respect, they have a common policy, but not necessarily a policy that is solely anti-Kurdish. The end result is that Kurds are victims and pay the price for the Ankara-Tehran partnership.

Netanyahu’s Government & Regional Energy Policy… Czekmate

Ezekiel 38:10-12 Thus says the Lord God: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You (Gog) will say, “I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land…”

With God’s help, Bibi can walk this tightrope. But now, at least the formation of the government hurdle is past the President’s office.

Many important strategic decisions will shake out of this. Regional allies (crazy age we live in that one can type that with respect to Israel) want to see a muscular, assertive Israel that acts with dignity. These would be the Abraham Accord partners. Rumor has it that if another weak Lapid like coalition government had come out of the elections that the Saudis would have continued fence sitting. The same set of speculation to Czekmate holds that with a reliably strong leader like Netanyahu, the Saudis are disposed to negotiating a more durable peace with Israel.

What is even more fascinating is that in partnership with Israel, the Arabs are prepared to go their own way on economic redundancies.

Much of the world’s energy must cross through three maritime choke points:
– the Strait of Hormuz, where the Persian Gulf empties to the Indian ocean;
– the Strait of Bab al Mandeb, where the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean meet;
– the Suez Canal, joining the Mediterranean and Red Seas.

In the cases of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandeb, there are Iranian direct or proxy military hazards to free navigation. In Egypt, which is the custodian of the Suez Canal, there is a stirring of the Muslim Brotherhood within the country.

Among western oriented Arab elite, there is growing doubt over the attenuated strength of the US Navy and it’s enduring strategy to keep maritime sea-lanes and choke points open.

The remedy, since the Briben administration came into office, has been to work bilaterally with a strong Israel. But alas, they’ve had a downright epicene (and corrupt) specimen of a government in Jerusalem under Lapid. There was not much upon which to predicate a reliable diplomatic/economic partnership. Netanyahu’s success renews a dynamic that again invites serious, durable changes to the national economic postures of all concerned.

The credible rumor of what is ahead went on, that Saudi Arabia would be more inclined to negotiate a permanent peace with attendant economic measures. This includes, major capital investments in partnership with the UAE to build pipeline infrastructure from the Persian Gulf to the Israeli coast for onward export. This would bypass all three maritime chokepoints, diminishing the growing Iranian influence in all three places and hedge against the absence of a robust and ubiquitous US Navy upholding it’s tacit obligation to enforce freedom of navigation in those places.

Solution wise, is this a panacea? No. It presents a whole new set of problems.

Having Israeli gas online in concert with overland energy flows, you are now talking a supra-national energy output to Europe that rivals Russia. Russia and Iran have become more symbiotic than ever, especially since the Ukrainian mis-adventure. More on that at another time perhaps.

In the meantime, keeping an eye on Israeli government formation is the mission of the day.

On This Week in Prophecy… Benjamin Netanyahu will be the Prime Minister of Israel again. Netanyahu’s coalition collected 64 of the 120 seats in Israel’s parliament.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has changed his mind. Previously in August of 2022, Sunak indicated he sees Jerusalem as “Israel’s historic capital” in front of a Conservative Friends of Israel event.

Sunak had also publicly stated, “To me, it’s indisputably the historic capital… it seems to me that there is a very strong case to it, to recognize what is a historic and practical step. Russia and Jordan are agreeing to coordinate efforts in Syria. This is definitely an issue to watch closely in light of Ezekiel 38-39.

Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met Russian Sergei Lavrov in Amman, Jordan on November 3, 2022.

“The truth is Russian presence in Syria has been a stabilizing factor in the south because the vacuum would be filled by militias and other groups that will not be able to ensure stability in those places,” Jordan Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.

Syria makes over 10 billion dollars from an amphetamine-like drug. Jordan has also had hundreds of thousand of refugees from Syria as a result of the civil war.

Iran’s Evin Prison mysteriously caught fire this past week. At least 8 were killed and scores were injured. Evin Prison is where political prisoners, foreign dissidents, and any one who disagrees with the government is held.

Iranian drones and soldiers are now reported in Ukraine assisting the Russians. Previously, it was a one way street with arms deals from Russia to Iran. Just another sign of the strengthening of the relationship between Russia and Iran.

Russia has focused recent attacks on infrastructure in Ukraine. The latest estimates are a third to one half of electricity is off-line in Ukraine. Significant blackouts are occurring throughout Ukraine. Russia is utilizing missiles and purchased Iranian drones to achieve the objective. Putin’s goal is simple. He looks to freeze out the Ukrainians during winter.

Putin has also instituted Martial Law in the four annexed regions of Ukraine. Legislation was also passed for the Crimean Republic, Sevastopol, Krasnodar, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, and Rostov Regions. Russian authorities now have additional powers to maintain security and rapid reaction to any emergencies.

Saudi Arabia did not take kindly to President Joe Biden’s request to hold on production cuts.

Israel & Lebanon, Whose Natural Gas? -Czekmate

David Schenker, an interviewee for this story, is a top chap and once upon a time acquaintance of yours truly. The demarcation of the maritime claims in the eastern Mediterranean has been a contentious issue since the discovery of natural gas under the seabed. “The Watchmen” webcast has highlighted this issue previously.

As the US Ambassador presented Michel Aoun with Special Envoy Hochstein’s proposal for finalizing the agreement on demarcation, Czekmate was caught off-guard by the disarmingly congenial (relative term) reaction of Hezbollah figurehead Hasan Nasrallah. The coalition government in Jerusalem is corrupt (also a relative term), and I cannot shake the feeling that secret side-deals have been made.

That would put Israeli leftists in the same bed as their enemies with the US pimping the consummation. It would add an additional equation to the Nord Stream problem set.

The issue is the Karish Gas Field off the coast of Israel. The only line that existed prior to the discovery of the Karish Gas Field was the red line. In November of 2019, Israel discovered natural gas. Since then, Lebanon has redrawn a yellow, green, and blue line. As of October 2022, Lebanon wants to live by the blue line and reap the benefits of the Karish Field.

In a turn of events, Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah has voiced a United States mediated agreement between Israel and Lebanon as an “important step”.

“…new and promising horizons for the people of Lebanon by rescuing the country from the crisis it has fallen into.”

“Only Lebanon will make the decision to demarcate its maritime boundaries, and it will do this according to what Lebanon sees as good for the state,” Hassan Nasrallah.

Previously, Nasrallah’s comments were about military targeting of Israeli resources if they chose to drill in the Karish.

“Israel believes that it is both possible and necessary to reach an agreement on a maritime line between Lebanon and Israel, in a manner that will serve the interests of the citizens of both countries.” -Spokesperson, Israeli Prime Minister, Yair Lapid

“Rest“… The word is “shamat” in the Hebrew. It is defined by Strong’s Concordance as: to release, let drop or loose or rest or fall.

The Jewish people also refer to this as “shemitah”. It literally means to release.

Deuteronomy 15:1-2 At the end of every seven years you shall grant a remission of debts. This is the manner of remission: every creditor shall release what he has loaned to his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother, because the LORD’S remission has been proclaimed.

“remission of debts…” In the original Hebrew text “of debts” is not present. “of debts” was added by the translators. Shemitah is the Hebrew word for remission. Shemitah as defined by Strong’s Concordance means: cancellation of debts, letting drop of exactions, (temporary) remitting, release (from debt).

Shemitah comes from the root word shamat.
