Millennial Kingdom: Geological/Geographical Implications

Revelation 6:12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;

The context of the set of verses in Revelation 6 is the initial third of the Tribulation, the seals. This event takes place approximately 7 years before the beginning of Christ’s Kingdom. Granted, there appears to be significant issues with the sun, moon, stars, atmosphere and sky in this context. But, the focus of the series is the geological and geographical changes coming to planet Earth.

The earthquake starts the chain of events in the sixth seal. The quake is described as “great” or μεγασ (megas) in the Greek. It can be translated as significant, severe, gigantic, or YUGE (huge) per Strong’s Concordance. This earthquake will be a big deal.

Revelation 6:14 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

…and every mountain and island were moved out of their places…This is exactly what the verse says in the Greek. “Every” mountain and island moved out of its place. Each, every, the whole, all of them are moved.

The root word for “moved” is κινεο (kineo). It can also be translated: to cause to go, to move, set in motion. Figuratively, it will cause a commotion (NET Bible/Strong’s Concordance).

This verse is suggesting tectonic plate movement and change across the planet. The earthquake will knock things out of their place. Consider all of the mountain ranges in the world: The Rockies, Andes, Urals, Alps, Himalayas…Consider all of the islands in the world…

Recent history (early 21st century, May 2016) has not seen an earthquake that has caused continents to initiate movement and drifting. Modern day maps and globes will be obsolete.

Revelation 6:15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;

God does not care how deep your bunker is. God does not care how much you have prepared. God does not care if you are the leader of a country. Military training will not save you. He does not care how much money and wealth one has acquired. Your intellect is no match for the Lamb (Jesus). It does not matter if you are isolated. A piece of advice to the social elite, you can run but you cannot hide.

Revelation 6:16 and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb…

Be careful what you wish for. God will give you what you want. Revelation 16:20 beckons.

Trend Update: Mount of Olives, Passover 2016

Zechariah 14:4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

On the Mount of Olives east of the Temple Mount on Monday, April 25, 2016, a Passover sacrifice ceremony was held. Over 400 people attended the event. Multiple public figures and officials stated hope for the day the Dome of the Rock and al Aksa Mosque would be removed from the Temple Mount. They believe the time is now to raze the area and purify the land.

You can bet your last shekel those attending this Passover ceremony know the verse in Zechariah (name means: Yahweh remembers).

The Mount of Olives is roughly 3,000 feet or a little over ½ mile from the Temple Mount. As the crowd looked across to the Temple Mount, they see the Eastern Gate or the Golden Gate. Currently the gate is considered the property of the Muslims. They have sealed it with brick and mortar. In front of the gate is a Muslim cemetery. Little do they know, they are the instruments of prophecy fulfillment.

Ezekiel 44:1-3 Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faces east. And it was shut. And the LORD said to me, “This gate shall remain shut; it shall not be opened, and no one shall enter by it, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered by it. Therefore it shall remain shut. Only the prince may sit in it to eat bread before the LORD. He shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gate, and shall go out by the same way.”

The prophet Ezekiel was told by the LORD. The Hebrew word for LORD is Yahweh, The Existing One. This is the definitive name of God. And He says only the Prince may enter this gate. This is His gate. It is stated four times in Ezekiel 44:2, the gate is to remain closed to others. Yahweh is in charge of this gate.

Fast forward roughly 500-600 years from the prophets to the ascension of Jesus into Heaven. Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives. He is promised to return in the same manner.

Acts 1:11-12 …and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.

Temple Geography…Not One Stone

Matthew 24:1-2 Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him.  And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

Now wait a minute…Modern day (November 2015) Jews go to the Western Wall in Jerusalem and pray. Jews are not allowed to ascend and pray atop the Temple Mount. There are stones stacked one upon another forming a wall. This is the site claimed as the Temple Mount.

If this wall is the site of the Temple, is Jesus wrong? There are clearly stones left upon another. Jesus said, “not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

Looking at a picture of the modern day city of David, there is NOTHING present near the Gihon Spring.

Amos 9:11 In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, and wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old…

The context of the verse in Amos 9 is the restoration of Israel under the lineage of King David. The Hebrew word for “booth” is succoth. This is the word for the Tabernacle. This is the word used for the Temple, God’s dwelling place.

Amos 9:14-15 Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, and they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; they will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit. I will also plant them on their land, and they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them,” Says the LORD your God.

Israel is back in the land and a country since 1948. Cities have been rebuilt. God says they are not going anywhere.

Just waiting on the Temple…

Trend Update: Immigration to Israel/Aliyah, February 2015

Jeremiah 31:8, 10 “Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, and I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together; a great company, they will return here. Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare in the coastlands afar off, and say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.” –Lord God

Jeremiah 31 is a chapter about the future restoration of the country Israel, the people, the land, and the city of Jerusalem. The chapter promises a return of the Jews to the land of Israel. Happiness, safety, and peace abound. Agriculture efforts will flourish. Produce and livestock increases will be exponential. Israel will repent of its past. There will be a spiritual rebirth. Cities across Israel will be rebuilt. Jerusalem will be the capital and the size of the city will be expanded.

God promises His people (Israel) through the course of the Bible He will return them to the land of their fathers. Over three million Jews have immigrated back to the land of Israel since 1948 (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/).

Read today’s (February 2015) news. After a shooting of Jews in Denmark, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is calling for Jews to return to their homeland of Israel. This is in response to the rise of anti-Semitism across Europe and the world. Today (February 2015) Jews are returning en masse from France, Ukraine, and Belgium. European leaders have been vocally opposed for the call to return to Israel despite the anti-Semitism taking place in their countries.

Antichrist, The Beast, Part 4

Revelation 13:1 And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.

Revelation 17:7 states it will interpret all of this and explain. And the angel said to me, “Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. The verse above (13:1) will be clarified so we can understand. Guess work and speculation are not involved.

Revelation 17:9 Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits… Heads are mountains.

Revelation 17:18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. The woman is a city.

The city (woman) sits on seven mountains (heads). This is a geographical clue as to the location of the city.

Where in the world are cities that sit on seven mountains? These four major cities are candidates that fit this criteria: Rome, Mecca, Moscow, and Constantinople.

We also know the city has to be a sea port from Revelation 18. That rules out Moscow. This blog is of the position Rome is not the city based on the evidence presented in Daniel 8. See the attached post regarding Daniel 8.

Time will tell…

Diadem is a word that has been transliterated from the original Greek word diadema. Per Strong’s Concordance it means: the kingly ornament for the head, the crown. The ten leaders mentioned in the verse have crowns. The verse confirms their leadership.

Blasphemous names…Blasphemous is also a word that has been transliterated from the Greek word blasphemia. Per Strong’s it means: slander, detraction, speech injurious, to another’s good name; impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty. All ten of these leaders are going to be anti-God of the Bible. It makes sense. They are part of the Satanic leadership structure.

The antichrist is going to lead a ten nation confederation that is hostile to God and Jewish people. The antichrist is going to turn on the city which sits on seven mountains as well.

Trend Update: Assyrian Empire/Nineveh/Jonah, January 2015

Jonah 3:4 Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he cried out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

Jonah 4:11 “Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?”

Blowing up the Prophet Jonah’s tomb is not enough for ISIS. They are now proclaiming they are going to blow up the walls of the ancient city Nineveh. The 7.5 mile (one day’s walk) brick wall and rampart surrounds what used to be the ancient city of Nineveh. The majority of the wall is still present and standing. ISIS states the destruction of the wall is necessary because the cultural museum of Nineveh has “distorted” the view of Islam. Works of art and archeology artifacts have been stolen by ISIS from the museum. Nineveh is effectively modern day Mosul, Iraq.

Assyrians claim to be Iraq’s original indigenous people. Their history goes back to 4,750BC. Assyrians are approximately 95% of the country’s Christian population. Close to 200,000 Christians were forced to leave their homes around the Nineveh plain during the summer of 2014 due to ISIS. They are now refugees in the Dohuk and Erbil regions of northern Iraq that border Turkey and Iran. The region is also known as Kurdistan.

The Book of Jonah is dated roughly in the first half of the eighth century BC. The prophet Jonah travelled to the brutally violent people of Nineveh with a message of judgment if their ways were not changed. For intimidation purposes, the Assyrians would tie people to the stake and filet them. The people of Jonah’s day responded to the message of Jehovah. God cared for Gentiles in the Old Testament too; this is not a New Testament phenomenon.

In the Hebrew language, Jonah’s name means “dove”. In the Bible, the dove is a symbol of peace. The dove is likened to the descent of the Holy Spirit onto Jesus at His baptism. Luke 3:22a and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove…

…there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?” One can tell by the pictures in the articles referenced, the Assyrians were skilled architects, designers, and laborers who built a massive brick wall with towers. Historically, these people were barbaric but they were not stupid. I take it those who do not know the difference between their right and left hands were children. Animals were included in the context of the ignorant. God does not judge the innocent bystanders with guilt by association. Remember the conversation between the Lord and Abraham in Genesis 18. God swore to Abraham He would spare Sodom and Gomorrah if there were righteous people remaining in the city. God’s messengers removed the righteous, Lot and family. We know the rest of that story.

The Holy Spirit, like a dove of peace, descends on sinners offering a message of mercy and undeserving forgiveness. Just believe in the sign of Jonah: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 12:39-41).

Trend Update: Land for Peace/January 2015

Genesis 12:3 “…And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Joel 3:2b …My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.

Foreign policy decisions around the globe are being made in light of God’s chosen people. What will countries do with the land (Israel) that God gave to His people? God says He will have a response.

On December 30, 2014 the United Nations Security Council presented a resolution for Palestinian statehood by 2017. The vote was to force Israel to divide Jerusalem. Palestine is to be established based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Below is a copy of the proposed resolution.

The resolution did not pass. It failed by one vote. Eight countries (Russia, Argentina, Chad, Chile, China, France, Jordan, Luxembourg) voted in favor of a Palestinian state, two voted against (United States, Australia), and five abstained (Nigeria, United Kingdom, Lithuania, South Korea, Rwanda). Nigeria was expected to vote for but changed its stance and abstained at this time.

After the vote, Russia was critical of the vote and called this a “strategic mistake”.

One day later, 12/31/14, the Palestinians joined the International Criminal Court. Speculation is the Palestinians will use this position to file charges of war crimes against Israel.

God has promised many times over that He will bring His people back to their land, Israel. There are tens of examples. The regathering of Israel is a theme of the Bible, both the Old Testament and New Testament. Here are a few examples.

Jeremiah 32:37 “Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands to which I have driven them in My anger, in My wrath and in great indignation; and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in safety.”

Ezekiel 11:17 “Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’

Psalms 107:2-3 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary and gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

Deuteronomy 30:3 then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.

Romans 11:26: and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.” See Romans 11 for details of Israel’s future. God has not forgotten His people.As background to these verses, 2014 marked the year with the greatest amount of immigration to Israel since 2002. “Aliyah” is the term Jews refer to immigration to Israel. The Jews are going up to Jerusalem, “Aliyah”. France was the country with the greatest number of immigrants. Antichrist, Greek Empire Roots, Part 1

Daniel 8:23-25 “In the latter period of their rule, when the transgressors have run their course, a king will arise, insolent and skilled in intrigue. His power will be mighty, but not by his own power, and he will destroy to an extraordinary degree and prosper and perform his will; he will destroy mighty men and the holy people. And through his shrewdness he will cause deceit to succeed by his influence; and he will magnify himself in his heart, and he will destroy many while they are at ease. He will even oppose the Prince of princes, but he will be broken without human agency”.

Daniel 8:23-25 is a description of the future antichrist. The prophet Daniel is given clarification and comprehension from the angel Gabriel of a vision he had previously received. The time point in history is clearly stated on three occasions. Gabriel specifically tells Daniel, in 8:17 “Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end.” The angel Gabriel restates again in 8:19 “Behold, I am going to let you know what will occur at the final period of the indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end.” A third time in Daniel 8:26 we are told of the period in history. “The vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true; but keep the vision secret, for it pertains to many days in the future.” So I take it these passages have to do with the end times…

Daniel 8:22 tells where this character will emerge from, the area of the Greek Empire. The shaggy goat represents the kingdom of Greece, and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king.  The broken horn and the four horns that arose in its place represent four kingdoms which will arise from his nation, although not with his power. The prophet Daniel was in Babylon from approximately 606 BC to approximately 530 BC. Over 200 years later in 323 BC, Alexander the Great would conquer the known world and fulfill this prophecy. Alexander is the large horn. His kingdom was divided into four kingdoms (Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy). Notice in the map below, Rome or modern day Italy was not part of the Greek Empire. Modern day Greece is the country furthest west. This is suggestive the antichrist will not come from western Europe.

Historically, there has been a pause of over 2,300 years since Alexander the Great. History is running its course. And we continue to wait for a king who will arise…not a nice guy.

The Antichrist

The term Antichrist is penned by one author in the Bible, John. 1 John 2:18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. In the original Greek, the word for antichrist is antichristos. Per Strong’s Concordance it is defined as the adversary of the Messiah.

John’s language regarding the antichrist is straight forward and not complicated. 1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

The spirit of the antichrist is at work today (November 2014) and has been the case since the first century. This is hard to deny or argue when one looks at the condition of the world today. 1 John 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

In general, the issue is deception. There are and will be those who deny that Jesus lived in bodily form on Earth. People deny the physical reality of Christ. 2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. John is talking about false teachers.

It makes sense the antichrist will be a liar. He is under the authority of Satan. Here is what Jesus had to say about Satan. The context of these verses is Jesus talking to some Jewish folks. John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The antichrist is a counterfeit to the real deal, Jesus. Hitchcock and Ice provide a comparison and overview in their book. Jesus is the truth; the antichrist is the lie. Christ is the Holy One; the antichrist is the lawless one. Jesus is a man of sorrows; His counterpart is a man of sins. Jesus is the Son of God; the antichrist is the son of destruction. Christ cleansed the Temple; the antichrist will desecrate the Temple. Jesus is the Lamb of God; the antichrist is the beast (The Truth Behind Left Behind by Mark Hitchcock and Thomas Ice).

Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets, Part 1

Leviticus 23:23-25 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.  You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’”

Numbers 29:1 ‘Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets.

And blow the trumpets they do. This holiday has many names. It is called the Feast of Trumpets by Christians. It is recognized as the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. In Judaism, it is called Yom Teruah which means the “Day of Blowing”.

The directions for the holiday are straight forward. 1) It is to be a day of rest or a Sabbath. 2) The day is a holy or separate day. It is a convocation. The Hebrew word for convocation is miqra’. Per Strong’s Concordance it means: rehearsal, convocation, a reading, a calling together, or sacred assembly. 3) It is a memorial and reminder to blow or shout. The Hebrew word is teruah. It means: alarm, signal, a sound of tempest, shout of joy, blast of war, alarm, joy, war-cry, or battle-cry.

Judaism recognizes three trumps: first trump, the last trump, and the great trump. Each one of these named trumps represents a specific day. The “first trump” is blown on the Feast of Pentecost (Exodus 19:19). The “great trump” is blown on Yom Kippur and signals the return of Christ to Earth (Matthew 24:31). The “last trump” is synonymous with Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah (1 Corinthians 15:52). Resources: Festivals of the Jewish Year, Theodore Gaster; The High Holy Days, Herman Kieval.

This God appointed holiday is the only new moon observance. This is not some Old Testament warm and fuzzy tradition. God has a point and a reason. He has not forgotten. The Apostle Paul makes note of this holiday in Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

God has singled out this appointed holiday for some big time fireworks! Judaism has been rehearsing this holiday for thousands of years since Moses.
