Pacific, Southwest United States, August 18, 2023: Hurricane Hilary is approaching the Baja Peninsula in Mexico and the American metropolitans of San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.

There are many firsts with this storm and Hilary has yet to make landfall. First Tropical Storm Watch for Los Angeles County. As of the writing of this post, the watch has been upgraded to a warning.

A little context here… The verse above is during the second half of the 7 year tribulation. The antichrist is on the scene and in charge. Currently, we have no third temple. The antichrist has not killed the two witnesses who have yet to show up on the scene let alone begin their ministry. It is the position of this website and ministry the tribulation has yet to even begin. We are trending hard towards these events.

Revelation 11:7-10 When the two witnesses have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will wage war with them, and will overpower and kill them. Context… This is the halfway point of the 7 year Tribulation. The two witnesses have completed their 3.5 year ministry.

A Palestinian tradition is to pass out sweets after an operation when a martyr goes to paradise. In the west, we would call this a terror attack. At any rate, this is cause for celebration for Palestinians.

In this episode of The Watchmen, The Rolling Stone fulfills Peter’s prophetic words. The Rolling Stone offers their take on Evangelical Christians and current affairs as related to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

The Tigris River and the Mosul Dam are back in the news. Water resources are dwindling in Iraq. Farmers are feeling the affects of drought in the region. Turkey has a system of dams impacting the Tigris River valley. Nahum says ancient Nineveh and the river valley eventually get flushed and flooded.

Nahum 1:8 But with an overwhelming flood He will make an end of Nineveh and pursue His enemies into darkness.

Nahum 2:6-8 The river gates are thrown open and the palace collapses. It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away; her maidservants moan like doves, and beat upon their breasts. Nineveh has been like a pool of water throughout her days, but now it is draining away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one turns back.

Saudi Arabia and Israel are talking economic agreement regarding a variety of topics The futuristic city of Neom is a consideration. This is a $500 billion investment!!!

Russia is allegedly targeting Ukraine grain stock piles. Food resources continue to be targeted across the United States. Turkey is experiencing run away inflation of up to 75%. Supply chains continue to be disrupted. The cost of food is going up around the planet. Revelation 6 talks of food hyperinflation and a day’s wage to feed a family.

Things are not exactly rosy inside of Iran. Citizens continue to protest against the government.

China is encroaching on Taiwan. Are we getting closer to another geo political event?

Traditional marriage and hate speech… Western society and culture continue to move further away from Judeo Christian values. Does God really have standards for “traditional” marriage? What does God say about same sex marriage and relationships? See Romans 1. Talk with God about it, He is the messenger.

Rats!!! -Christine McDonald

Leviticus 11:29 “And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the ground: the mole rat, the mouse, the great lizard of any kind…”

The fact is, those years just ran together. Often, I didn’t even know the date until I was arrested again and asked what the date was—or even what year it was. I remember police officers over the years sometimes driving by and yelling, “Hey, Ellie, do you know it’s Thanksgiving?” or “Hey, it’s Christmas!” Otherwise, I would have had no clue at all. I gauged the time of day by the traffic, by the tricks’ cars, by the “set,” but was otherwise unaware of time. Funny, huh?

Anyway, that night in the abandominium, I remember the pain as I woke up screaming, in fighting mode. I thought I was about to be raped, attacked, or robbed. I knew there could be one or many attackers. If we prostitutes fell asleep in the street, on a sidewalk, in the park, or in an abandoned building like this one, we often became victims of rape while we were asleep, totally unaware and unable to wake up, sometimes for two or three days at a time. Often junkies would have their way with us when we were in that state, men who knew we were prostitutes. Somehow they justified the rape to themselves because we were prostitutes and were asleep. Some of us prostitutes would never wake up at all.

But nothing like that was happening this time. As a gleam of light came in through the missing bricks, I saw that my attackers were rats. One of them had bitten my face. I had fallen asleep in mid–chew of the lunch meat. I’m sure the winter months were hard on the rats, too.

Screaming, I squeezed myself through the hole left by the missing bricks. Back on the block, I hastily sneaked into a backyard and found a water spigot. I splashed water on my face, rinsing off the warm blood that was still running down my cheek, cleansing my dirty, blackened hands. I then drank from the cool, clean water.

All the horror seemed to stop for just a moment as my hungry, thirsty, used–up body savored the taste of the water. I often wonder if those people had a clue how many times they may have saved me, and who knows how many others, just by having that spigot there.

Being bitten by rats in my sleep sounds like something out of a horror movie, yet it was a reality of the world in which I lived. As with each nightmarish experience, I somehow survived this too. This was just another one. I shook it off, telling myself that this was just how life was for folks like me. I jumped on a corner, figuring that if I got high, I could shake off the heebie–jeebies from seeing those rats, and all would be well.

Humans and rodents alike seemed like my nemesis. Could there ever be life for someone like me outside of this darkness? Could one ever make it to the shore after being submerged into a life of prostitution? At that time, I dared not entertain such thoughts.

John 4:13-14 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Dear Christian: Faith and Focus

It is easy to become overwhelmed by SO many things in our lives. From personal situations to global unrest. From sickness to politics. From stress to natural disasters. Where do we have our eyes, our minds, and our hearts fixed? When we’re focused on Jesus, the bad stuff doesn’t affect us in the same way, because He, being with us ALWAYS, gives us that perfect peace, the peace that transcends all understanding, peace that only He can give. Where is our focus?

Think about the time that the disciples were with Jesus and he fed 5,000 men (women & children weren’t included in the count, but were definitely there, so the total of people fed that day could be 30,000 or more) with just five small loaves of bread and two fish from one kid’s lunch. The disciples were involved in that miracle because, after Jesus thanked the Father in Heaven for the food, He broke and divided it, and had the disciples hand it out. When all was said and done, and everyone was full (and probably burping), there were 12 baskets FULL of food left over, which Jesus had the disciples collect. That was one full basket of food for each disciple to carry back. They not only got to watch Jesus perform the miracle, they also were involved in doing it by handing the food out, then they got a bonus of each one of them carrying a large basket full of leftovers when all was said and done.

After everyone was done eating, Jesus told His disciples that He was going to spend some time alone with our Father in Heaven, and that they should go on ahead and cross the lake in their boat, and that He would meet them on the other side.

Now, at least half of His 12 disciples were fishermen, and they were ALL aware of the dangers of being in a boat on the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias), especially during foul weather. As the disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee in their little boat, a storm arose – a nasty storm. As the storm got worse, and the wind and the waves were “contrary” to their safety, the disciples started to panic. They knew that at any moment their little boat could break up in the storm, and they’d all be dead. Suddenly Jesus appeared to them in the distance, walking on the water, on the stormy waves. They were all starting to freak out, thinking that He was a ghost or something. Imagine their panic! These dudes were just involved in a major miracle not eight hours earlier, and now their focus is completely in the opposite place, not on Who Jesus Is, but on their situation. He was right there, yet they were seeing Him as a menace, instead of their Salvation. They were deceived because they lost focus on Who Jesus Is, and their own authority in Him.

Well, in the middle of the disciples’ panic in that boat during the storm, Peter, in all of his zeal and passion, thought that he recognized this “scary ghost” walking on the water to be Jesus, so he called out to Him, “Master, if it’s You, tell me to come to You!” I’m pretty sure that, right about then, the disciples were probably saying, “Pete! Shut up! What’s WRONG with you?!!? You’re freakin’ talking to a ghost walking to us on the water! We’re all toast for sure, you idiot! Shut up!” Peter obviously was having none of their nonsense and called out to Jesus again, “Master, if that’s really You, command me to come to You!” Jesus obliged Peter and told him to come on out to Him – to walk on top of the stormy waves and come to Him.

Peter started to step over the edge of the boat to walk to Jesus. Right about then, I imagine, the that other 11 disciples were probably already discussing who gets Peter’s stuff when he drowns (IF they survived). Peter got out of the boat, his eyes fixed firmly on where Jesus was on the water. Peter walked on the water – on the stormy waves toward Jesus.

Now, realize this. Peter couldn’t possibly see Jesus the whole time that he was walking on the water. There were big waves between them. Jesus wasn’t floating in the air above the water. He was walking ON the water, and Peter was walking on that same water toward Jesus. Even though Peter couldn’t see Jesus all of the time while he was walking on the water, he had his eyes fixed on where Jesus was, so that, even when a wave would rise between them, he knew where Jesus was, kept his focus, and continued to walk toward Him.

Eventually, Peter got distracted by the wind and the waves. He lost focus. He looked at what was occasionally between him and Jesus, what he was already walking on top of. When this happened, Peter immediately panicked, and he started to sink. He cried out for help (probably something like, “Master, I’m SO screwed! HELP!!!“), and immediately Jesus was there and pulled him up. Notice how fast that happened – the Bible tells us that Peter only started to sink. Jesus was there in an instant, saved Peter, then put him in the boat and they went to shore.

See, it’s NOT that Jesus isn’t with us. He promised to be with us always – NOT just when we’re focused on Him, or even walking with Him, but always. No matter what, JESUS IS ALWAYS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. He is not far, far away. He doesn’t need to be summoned from beyond. He’s right here! Right here with you!

It’s not like we have to look really hard to find Him. It’s that we need stop focusing on the problems and focus on the One and Only Solution. It’s not that hard to see someone who is standing with you, unless you’re looking in the other direction. That kind of fits in with the word, “repentance”, too. Repentance doesn’t mean to say, “I’m sorry.” to God. If it did, then hell is full of repentant people. They’re all sorry!

Repentance means to turn and go in the opposite direction, to change one’s focus, to change one’s mind, to change one’s point of view, to do a 180° turn. When we repent, our focus changes, our hearts change, our minds change, and our entire lives change because we have then died with Jesus on the cross, and now He lives in us and through us by His Holy Spirit. (Romans chapter 8, Colossians chapter 3), and we abide (live) in Him (John chapters 14, 15, and 16). When that happens, nothing that is thrown at us from the enemy has any power over us because God in all of His fullness lives in us, and we have His authority to pronounce those things dead. Remember, it’s not us that live, but Jesus that lives in us! How cool is THAT?!?

Water Emergency Declared in Egypt, August 2019

Isaiah 19:5-7 And the waters of the sea will be dried up, and the river will be dry and parched, and its canals will become foul, and the branches of Egypt’s Nile will diminish and dry up, reeds and rushes will rot away. There will be bare places by the Nile, on the brink of the Nile, and all that is sown by the Nile will be parched, will be driven away, and will be no more.

Cairo, Egypt: The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has declared a water emergency.

“The job of an irrigation engineer in Egypt has changed. We no longer manage water flooding but manage water scarcity, and make precise plans to deal with it, so as not to harm the main interests and the citizens’ needs,” Mohammed al-Sibai, Spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.

The total annual Nile River flow has declined 5 billion cubic meters (1.3 trillion gallons, or 6.5 billion cubic yards) compared to last year 2018.

The Egyptian government tells its citizens not to worry. The available water supply will not be affected.

“Egypt’s annual water quota will not be affected by the decline. A state of emergency means keeping all of the Water Ministry’s departments on maximum alert to periodically follow up on the water situation in the main riverbed and all canals and water channels in the governorates.”

This emergency is occurring as Egyptian water needs are increasing.

“In addition to the declining water flow, Egypt is dealing with a water gap that is widening every year. Internal needs are now estimated at 114 billion cubic meters annually, while only 59.4 billion cubic meters of running surface water is available.”

In the long run, Egyptian officials are not concerned about water. They have Lake Nasser behind the Aswan Dam.

“It’s not possible to be in real danger, as long as there is a strategic water reservoir in the Aswan Dam, and official figures indicate that the water level there is so far within the safe limits. The most important challenge is to maintain safe [levels] of water in Lake Nasser.” -Abbas Sharaqi, Water and Geology Professor at Cairo University

There is also the matter of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam construction continues on the Nile River. Construction of the dam is located in northwest Ethiopia. When finished, the GERD will be the largest hydroelectric plant in Africa. As of 2019, the project is estimated to be completed in 2022. Once finished, it estimated to take 5-15 years for the reservoir to fill to capacity.

Man says, “Don’t worry. We can conserve and manage the Nile River.”

God says…

Zechariah 10:11b …And He will strike the waves in the sea, so that all the depths of the Nile will dry up…

Ezekiel 30:12 And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am the LORD; I have spoken.

Aquarius, The Man Carrying the Water… Featuring Phil Kulis

Then you shall say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”‘ Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready.” So they went and found it just as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.

Trend Update: Breath of His Nostrils, Sea Water Recedes, September 2017

2 Samuel 22:14-16 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice. And he sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning, and routed them. Then the channels of the sea were seen; the foundations of the world were laid bare, at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

This passage is an excerpt from a song or psalm written by David. He had been delivered from his enemies and King Saul. The LORD God had spared David.

At first glance, the verses appear to be over the top and unfathomable. How in the world can the water of the sea be removed and we see the floor of the ocean?

The critic of the Bible has a field day with verses like these. “The Bible is a book of fairy tales. The little stories are just cute fables. This is an example of an uneducated, primitive man trying to make sense of a so called God.”

Prior to Hurricane Irma, the ocean was reported to recede in the Bahamas, Pensacola Bay Florida, and Tampa Bay Florida. This was a result of the strength of Hurricane Irma.

But in other parts of the western hemisphere where hurricanes are not occurring, vast swaths of beaches in Brazil and Uruguay are reporting the same phenomena. The ocean is receding from the shore along hundreds of miles. The recession is so striking, natives are in fear of tidal waves.

…at the blast of the breath of his nostrils…The focus of the passage is on the terms “blast” and “breath”.

“Blast” or neshamah in the Hebrew means breath.

“Breath” or ruach in the Hebrew means breath, wind, or spirit. Ruach is the same word used of the Holy Spirit of God. The word is most frequently translated as “spirit” from the Hebrew.

Simply put, God is breathing through His nose. If this is an example of God breathing, I don’t think I am interested in seeing the results of God blowing His nose or sneezing.

This is not an example of Mother Nature. This is the omnipotent and all powerful creator El Shaddai at work. The meaning of Shaddai in the Hebrew: almighty, most powerful; the Almighty of God. (Strong’s Concordance).

Psalm 135:6-7 Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.

 

The last passage in the psalm is a promise to God’s chosen people of Israel. David ruled Israel 1,000 years before Jesus Christ. Today in the 21st century, we are 3,000 years removed from this prophecy. The pledge is not temporary. The promise is eternal.

2 Samuel 22:51 “He is a tower of deliverance to His king, and shows lovingkindness to His anointed, to David and his descendants forever.”

Trend Update: Pestilence, Cholera Spirals in Yemen/Quake off N Korea, July 2017

This one verse has it all in today’s news…

July 12, 2017: The country of Yemen is undergoing the worst cholera outbreak in world history. That is the assessment of the United Nations. Yemen is a war torn country of 27 million people on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Civil war between Sunni and Shia Muslims continues to rage.

5,000 to 7,000 new cases per day are estimated per the International Committee of the Red Cross. Number of daily cases is up from 2,000 plus just two months ago in May 2017.

In May 2017, experts estimated at least 150,000 cases were expected over the next six months. As of July 2017, there are over 320,000 cases reported. Numbers were actually underestimated. 1,700 plus deaths have occurred in the last couple of months.

Cholera is the result of poor sanitation, untreated water and food, and dysentery. Cholera is a vicious cycle of disease that spreads easily and quickly among the masses.

As a result of war, infrastructure is breaking down to the point of collapse. Clean water is not available. Trash men are on strike.

The United Nations is cutting back on food and focusing on the epidemic. Food supplies have been cut off from the populous. Hunger and malnutrition are spreading throughout the country.

Over half of the hospitals have been damaged and destroyed. Medical supplies are limited and new supplies have been affected by war and supply chains. Up to six children are sharing a hospital bed. Trained medical staff is in short supply. Local medical professionals have gone without pay for 10 months. Vaccines for cholera have been suspended due to the condition of war.

The United Nations estimates 14.5 to 19 million people have been impacted.

There will be great earthquakes…

May 14, 2017: ISIS appears to be on the brink of defeat in Mosul, Iraq or what is ancient Nineveh. The circle surrounding ISIS is getting smaller and smaller with each passing day. Roads leading into Mosul from the west have been blocked and controlled by Iraqi forces. The east side of Mosul is controlled by Iraqi forces. Bridges over the Tigris River are controlled by Iraqi forces. ISIS has nowhere to go.

The liberation of ancient Nineveh from ISIS has been taking place for seven months. Brigadier General Yahya Rasoul estimates ISIS controls only 9% of western Mosul. ISIS forces are concentrated in the old city of Mosul where the population is the densest and the streets are the narrowest.

ISIS continues with suicide car bombs, snipers, and the use of innocent human shields.

“Daesh (ISIS) is drawing its last dying breath. Daesh fighters are broken and quickly retreating from fronts,” Lieutenant General Qasim Nazzal.

Conditions in western Mosul continue to decline. It is estimated that 10,000 people a day are leaving the city. Those leaving the war torn area face sniper fire and road side bombs.

Summer is around the corner and temperatures are starting to rise. Last year in 2016, temperatures reached the upper 120’s F. Temperatures have already climbed into the upper 90’s F.

Food is scarce. People are resorting to eating weeds.

Water is at a premium. ISIS has damaged all 25 water plants west of Mosul. Repairs may take up to 3 months. Air strikes by both sides in the conflict have affected water supplies. Dead bodies floating in the Tigris River are health and safety considerations with the water supply.

People need to drink 2.5 gallons of water per day to stay hydrated in these conditions. Water wells provide water for the displaced. The water is treated and trucked into tent camps and Mosul. The well water needs to be treated because of Sulphur content and sanitation.

Tent cities have been set up for stranded civilians. The respite tents have been set up 15-20 miles of Mosul.

“I’m glad it is safe here, but it’s so boring, and it’s so hot. We don’t even have a fan in our tent. Sleeping is hard and it’s going to get hotter,” 12-year-old Yusof.

The United Nations estimates over 434,000 people have been displaced by the conflict in western Mosul since February 2017. The UN estimates over 615,000 people have been moved since the beginning of the intervention in October 2016.

Trend Update: Stroke Rumors Swirl Around Syria’s al-Assad, January 2017

January 30, 2017: Rumors are swirling around the Middle East and Syria regarding the health of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The president is 51 years old.

Last week the Saudi publication al-Sharq al-Awsat quoted sources in Russia and said Assad was “exhausted” due to “psychological pressures”. He was reported to have a “nervous tic in his left eye.”

Rumors are running wild on social media and mainstream news sources. Some say al-Assad has had a massive stroke. Some claim he has a brain tumor. Allegedly, he is being treated by Russian and Syrian doctors. Some claim he has been shot. Some claim he is dead.

But according to officials with the Syrian government, “The presidency denies all these reports. President Assad is in excellent health.”

The Syrian government took to Facebook and explained Assad is in “excellent health and carrying out his functions quite naturally.”

Something is not right. The Syrian president has not been seen in public since Thursday, January 26, 2017.

All of this is happening as the government of Syria has regained control of water sources for the city of Damascus. Rebels have surrendered the territory northwest of Damascus.

The country of Syria has been in civil war for six years. One would think this only complicates the matter on the ground.

Keep an eye on this one, this is a developing story with potential significant considerations.
